We had gone back to school, but only to find that Kenzie had gone home early. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and realized my phone was on silent. I forgot that I had silent my phone while shopping so that we weren't interrupted.
I realized I had a few missed calls along with a few messages. I opened the message from Amber. She was explaining that Kenzie didn't feel good and had taken her home, and was going to miss school tomorrow as well.
I went back to the car, letting Logan know. He saw my worried expression on my face and chuckled as he grabbed my chin between his thumb and index. "Would it make you feel better if we got her a little get well soup and hot chocolate, and take it to her?" He suggests, making me smile.
"Can we?" I smiled, giving him my puppy eyes. He chuckles, nodding his head and pulling me in for a kiss. "What's wrong with my sister, mommy?" Nate asks. "I don't know baby, but we'll go see her and make sure she's ok, alright baby?" I say, turning towards him, and smiling. I hope she's ok, and she feels happy to see us.
I'm sure a nice hot soup and hot chocolate in this cold weather will do her good.

"Oh, come on. Look at it, it's a great combination. What do you think, Rox? Am I right? Tell Dylan these flowers look great together." Roxie smiles, she's been a bit off since she got here. She's been acting a bit serious but tries to hide it. I know something is going on though. She hasn't been the same in days. "Um, yeah. They look beautiful together, T." She says making me roll my eyes.
Dylan laughs, taking another swig from his beer. We were at my house trying to decide on floral arrangements. I love all the help my grandma and his mom have given us with all the preparations, but this was going to be my wedding, I wanted to make more decisions for myself.
"T, it's not that I don't care, I told you...whatever you decide, I'm ok with it," Dylan adds, grabbing his phone out of his pocket as it began ringing.
"Gotta take this, it's my dad. I'll be right back." He says getting up and walks g towards the kitchen. "God, I wish Sophie was here. She's so good with all this stuff. I'm sure I would have gotten so much done by now. I am so indecisive." I say, grabbing a white daffodil and a small cream rose.
"What? You don't need her. That's why I came, that's why you have me. Seriously, I don't know why all of you are so fond of her. She hasn't even been around you guys much since she came." She says, crossing her arms, sneering at her name. "Your point is?" I ask getting a bit upset by her remark. "My point is, I'm the one that came..didn't I? I should be your maid of honor, not her."
I tilt my head to the side and look at her pensively, "Sweetheart, don't get things wrong, Sophie is my best friend, and she always will be. If Sophie hasn't been around much, it's because she's a busy woman. One- she's a single mom, two- she runs her own business as a photographer, three-"
"Ok, I get it. But I'm the one who has been helping you all this time. You looked for me to help each time you needed it, and all of a sudden she comes back and everyone is all crazy about her. Even Logan. He hasn't even come around to hang out with us since she's been back."
"Ok, hold on right there," I said placing my hand up, tossing the flowers back on top of the table. "If everyone is so excited about her return is because she has gone through thick and thin with all of us. Especially me. You have no idea how much shit she and I have gone through together. If anyone has been there for me, no matter what...is Sophie. And for your information, I don't know if you've noticed... Or maybe you forgot, but Logan has been in love with her since before you or any other girl came around. No one and I mean no one... Will ever be as important to him as she is. So, sorry darling, but if you were trying to bark up that tree, I'm afraid that bitch already has an owner. Even if you did sleep with him once."I tilt my head, returning to my flowers. "It was twice, not once." she corrects, making me laugh.
I turn to look at her. She smiles as if trying to prove a point. "Giving a guy a blow job on your first meet doesn't count as neither a date, nor sex sweetheart. And sex in a club bathroom is not really sex, but rather more of a quick fuck, so technically... I only count your quickie in the bathroom as sex. So it was once." I correct her, making her smile fade away quickly.
"You know, I don't know why the hell you even asked for my help? You and everyone else in this stupid town seem to love her so damn much. She's not even that special." I lost it at this point. I have no idea what the hell she's trying to do. But just because my husband-to-be is so fond of her, didn't mean I had to put up with all her shit.
I have tried being nice to her because I want to keep the peace with Dylan, include her in all our events and invite her to everything. After all, he likes having her around. I know he's fond of her because he feels bad that her brother died in combat while they were in the middle of a mission, but that didn't mean I was about to let any bitch bad mouth my best friend.
"You know what Roxie... first, sweetheart, I didn't invite you. You called Dylan, and he told you what we were doing. Then, you offered to come. Remember? Second, don't you dare talk bad about my best friend. She means way too damn much, not just to me, but to Dylan as well, to all of our friends..." I leaned in closer looking at her in her eyes. She tilts back, I can tell she was getting pissed off.
"To Steven... But especially...and I mean...especially, Logan. So either you try and live at peace with her, or believe me, you'll find yourself friendless before you know it."
She was pissed. She gritted her teeth, she turned away from me, walked towards my couch, grabbed her bag, and began to leave without a word. As she walked past me, she stopped and gave me a smirk. "You want to know what your real problem is? You're only sour with me because you can't get over the fact my brother fucked your husband to be. But it's ok, I forgive you. I'll still be your friend either way. Bye, sweetie." she said, cupping my cheek, leaving me dumbfounded. Or more like...shocked.
"Oh, she's done for." I uttered out through gritted teeth. I can't believe I actually tried to be nice to her. She's as evil as they can get, but hell no I was going to fall for her shit. This surely had to be a lie...right? Dylan loves me, he was the one that proposed, he couldn't...could he?
"Hey, babe. Where did Roxie go?" I looked at him with anger in my eyes. I grabbed my phone and typed in Sophie's number. I needed to talk to her about all this. I was ready to hit the call button, but instead I threw my phone on the couch and looked at Dylan who was looking at me puzzled. "Why did you ask me to be nice to Roxie? Why is she so important to you?" I asked, crossing my hands over my chest.
He gives me a soft smile, his face went from a happy smile to a sad expression. He pulls me by my belt and kisses my neck. "I told you. I felt so bad when her brother died in my arms. It was my duty to make sure I saved the lives of all those soldiers, I tried my best, but I -"
I pushed him away and made him look at me directly in my eyes. "Tell me the truth, Dylan. I was away for almost two years with very little word from you as I traveled in business. Did you and Casey have a relationship? Were you dating him?" he gives me a nervous chuckle, "What? No. Wh- why would you ask me that?" his face turned red, and I could tell he had swallowed hard trying to hide his nervousness, and that's when I knew, Rox was right. She wasn't lying to me about her brother, Casey, and Dylan. I knew nothing about Casey, other than that he lived in a town nearby, was three years older and moved to our town a year before we had graduated high school. Though I don't remember seeing Roxie in our school, since she's our age.
"Wow...you did. You were sleeping with him." God, I was so stupid to believe that he'd been faithful while being so far away from me. "Babe, no... I.."
"Bull shit. You're lying to me. Roxanne just said so herself. She said you were sleeping with him. He was so special to you that you just had to look for a way to keep him in your life. That's why you looked for her, soon as you returned, and we're so happy to know she was living right in our own town, didn't you?" I was so heartbroken. "Baby, please...let me explain."
He tried to trail his hands around my waist. I pushed his chest with both hands harshly, making him step back. "Fuck off, Dylan. How could I've been so stupid? All this time, I thought you had proposed to me because you were truly in love with me. But you're just trying to cover up your guilt from being unfaithful, while still trying to hold on to something of his. Well....I'll make it easier for you." I said stepping back. I took off the ring he had given me as our engagement and placed it on the counter.
"You can keep his sweet little sister, his memories of you and him. Keep looking after his sweet sister, She's just as pathetic and conniving as you are. The wedding is off." I said, grabbing my phone and walking out of my own home.
"T, baby wait, please. T, let me talk to you. T, I love you, baby, believe me. I fucked up, I know, but I do love you, believe me." he yelled back, walking behind me. I was so mad, I didn't want to continue listening to him. "T, please. Where are you going? Please, baby. Don't do this. I want to marry you, I truly do, he was just a fling. He wasn't important to me as you are, believe me, please." I turned back as I opened my car door. I pushed him harder on his chest, making him stumble back.
He grabbed my arms, trying to hug me, but I forced myself away, punching him on his jaw. It was the first time I had ever been physically violent with him, and probably my last. But, believe me...it felt good right now. "Don't touch me. Get the hell out of my house. When I come back, I don't want to see you, or any of your shit here." I said getting in my car and driving away.
It was fairly late, and I hope I wasn't going to intrude on my friends, but both Logan and Sophie have been my closest friends beside Lexie. I needed my best friends right now, more than ever.
