REJECTED; Mated To The Alpha I Hate

52: Fifty Two

Ch. 52 / 118 Apr 29, 2025

Astrid's POV

Grabbing her hair, I didn't hesitate to pull her backward, throwing her to the hard floor, which elicited a painful cry from her lips just how I liked it.

“How… How dare you? Do you know what you have done?” She still had the guts to yell at me without respect.

I scoffed and defiantly folded my arms across my chest, my eyes rolling in disgust as I glared at her.

“You'll regret this, Astrid! You'll live to regret this!” she warned as she tried getting to her feet, but she collapsed again. I bet I had thrown her so hard to the floor that standing up wasn't going to be easy for her.

“Regret? You speak of regret like you know the meaning!” I scoffed. “Trust me, Camilla, I won't regret anything! The only thing I would have regretted was letting you go after slapping me, but did I? No! And I'll definitely be happy for the rest of my life!” A mischievous smile formed on my lips.

Although I didn't want any commotion today, I couldn't avoid it, and it was because of Camilla.

I watched her as she cradled her knee. She had obviously been injured, and I wasn't going to help her because she brought it upon herself.

Just as we both stood there, and I was revelling in the joy of seeing her in pain, Alpha Halfdan rushed into the scene.

“Camilla? Camilla, are you okay?” he asked as he rushed towards Camilla, his deceitful Luna who carried nothing but mischief within her.

“Halfdan… Thank the Moon Goddess you are here! I couldn't hold her back. I couldn't… she pushed me!” she cried, acting like she was the one who wasn't at fault.

She was acting like I had caused it all, like I pushed her to the floor without her doing anything.

“Something must be done, Halfdan! She must pay! I… I can't feel my legs, and maybe my baby would be gone too!” she cried as he helped her up from the ground.

I could see injuries on her legs, knees, and her elbow, but I didn't care. If she had left when I asked her to, then we would have been even, but she didn't.

“What are you waiting for, Halfdan? Do something! Ask the guards to punish her!” Camilla urged, making me scoff. I wasn't surprised that it was what she wanted.

Halfdan was foolish as always, and I was pretty sure he'd do as she had requested from him. I was waiting for his orders when, just then, he asked the unexpected.

“What really happened, Astrid?” he questioned, my eyes widening at this point.

“Why are you asking her? I told you that she …” Camilla was going to say, but Alpha Halfdan cut in.

“What did she do to you, Astrid?” he asked again, and this time, I could see the sincerity in his eyes to know the whole truth.

I couldn't keep shut anymore. I was going to open up to him no matter what.

“Camilla started it, Halfdan. She slapped me, and I showed her that I shouldn't be messed with!” I explained briefly, my hands still folded across my chest.

“What do you think you were trying to do, Camilla? Don't you have any sense of respect? Even if not for Astrid, at least for Alpha Safiya!” Halfdan raged at this moment.

He was actually shouting at Camilla, the same person he couldn't lift a finger against.

“You are…” she was going to say, but he cut in harshly, not thinking twice.

“Don't be a bother to me and my pack, Camilla!” he warned, his hand that held her erect immediately pulled away.

I couldn't believe that he had done that, and I bet Camilla was in shock too.

“Did you just shout at me, Alpha Halfdan?” Her brows creased as she asked. “Did you just take sides with Astrid even after what I told you?”

“Just stay away from trouble, Camilla!” he stuttered before he turned on his heels and walked out.

From what I was seeing, there was definitely a high chance that soon enough, Camilla and Halfdan would break up. She couldn't get what she wanted, which was my father's pack, and now, she caused trouble. She wouldn't be comfortable around him anymore.

“You caused this, Astrid… I'll make you pay!” she warned through her gritted teeth before she stormed off, limping as she rushed towards Alpha Halfdan.

Just as I watched her make her way towards him, a gentle grip wrapped around my shoulders, pulling me out of my trance.

“Don't be scared, it's me…” Alpha Dane's voice rang in my ears, making me stay calm for a split second as I stared at him.

“What took you so long?” I asked softly.

“I had to speak to your mother… I'm sorry, Astrid… What happened here? I saw Camilla leaving!” he stated, and because I didn't want to cause any more scenes, I had to end the discussion.

“It's nothing… why don't we leave now, it's getting dark!” I urged, and before he could utter another word to me, I had already walked out of his sight and headed right for the car.

The second I got to the car, I wasted no time climbing into it. Alpha Dane did the same, and immediately, we zoomed out of sight.

The car was enveloped in intense silence. I couldn't speak. All I could do was think about my father, which brought me nothing but pain and anger too. The tears began to cascade down my cheeks.

After what felt like an eternity, we arrived at the pack. Alpha Dane got to my door, and opening it, he held his hand out to me.

I took it, and the minute I got out of the car, he pulled me into a warm embrace, his hand caressing my hair gently.

“What are you…” I was going to pull out, but he held me tightly.

“I love you, Astrid!” he confessed, and just then, I felt my heart thumping insanely.

“What did he just say?” I thought inwardly, my eyes widening with shock and confusion.
