However, not everyone was happy that things turned out that way. To many, it was a relief, but to one particular person, it was a nightmare and a threat to him.
Standing near the edge of the room was Mr. Barnard, the head of the system department. There, he watched in shock as she was dragged out. That was when he knew that he had fucked up. He wasn't expecting that. His face was taut, knowing the implications of what was happening.
Daniella’s removal meant that Desmond had regained control of the situation, and with that, Barnard knew that he was in big trouble. Kane would inevitably be called back. Now it seemed that all his efforts would backfire.
Desmond had always loved Kane since the day he was hired. He knew that if Kane came back, his own position would be at risk. Not only that. He might be fired.
Desmond wouldn’t have mercy on him if he learned how he had falsely claimed credit for Kane’s work and supported Daniella to fire Kane. The thought of being exposed made him break out in a cold sweat.

After Daniella was dragged out of the office, Desmond turned his attention to the deputy manager. "Tell me, are there any other things she did?
"She fired Kane and had him kicked out." He said hesitantly.
"She fired Kane? A young man who has been saving this company from crisis?" Desmond asked, and the deputy manager nodded quickly. "Yes, sir. I tried to change her mind, but she wouldn’t listen."
"Alright, get him back immediately."
The deputy manager hesitated before replying. "Sir, there is a problem."
"Which problem?"
"She smashed his phone when he attempted to call you."
"Don't we have his data?" Desmond asked.
"We have his address on file, sir. If you approve, I will send someone to contact him personally and bring him back."
"Bring him back. I want him reinstated immediately. He’s one of the best assets we have."
The deputy manager gave a swift nod and left to check his file for his house address. Desmond talked with the chief financial officer before going to his office.

Daniella slammed the door behind her as she entered her home. She removed her heels, which were now hurting her badly, and stormed into the living room. Leonard was sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone, when she entered. The television was on, but all his attention was on his phone. He looked up at her when she entered and noticed her unusual facial expression.
Daniella was looking like someone who just got fired from her job. Her frustration was written boldly on her face and in her walking steps. Leonard didn't need any prophet to tell him that something was wrong.
"What’s wrong, Daniella?" Leonard asked and stood up from the couch. "What is the problem? Do you have a fight with anyone?"
Daniella dropped her handbag onto the coffee table with a thud and slumped down on the couch, then began to run her finger through her hair.
"Talk to me. What is wrong?" He asked and sat beside her.
"It’s Desmond. That man had the audacity to treat me like I was nobody and humiliated me in front of everyone." She replied, and his brow furrowed as he leaned forward to her. "What happened? What did he do to you?"
"Desmond has the guts to slap me and kick me out of the company. He had me dragged out of the building like some common intruder. Me! Can you believe that?"
"Dragged you out? Are you serious? That’s completely out of line, Daniella."
"He humiliated me. And then he commanded the security guards to take me out. They literally dragged me out of the building like I was nothing."
"He wasn't aware that you are...I mean, that we are going to take over the company tomorrow?"
"I guess he wanted to prove that he's still the boss, but I'm going to show him the other part of me he has never seen. I will deal with him. Once he signs those papers tomorrow, he will regret ever crossing me. I will make sure he knows exactly who he’s messing with. Not just him—his whole family too. They will all pay for this."
"Yes, we won't let him get away with this. Once you have the company in your hands, you will show him who’s really in control."
Daniella’s lips curled into a cold smile as she took a deep breath. "He thinks he can humiliate me and still walk away unscathed. He doesn’t know what’s coming. Tomorrow, everything changes."
"Just hold on until tomorrow, and then he will be the one begging for mercy."
"I will deal with him!"
