At the entrance of the court building, Leonard was making a call while Daniella was waiting for him so they could go in together. When he finished, just as they were about to walk in, Daniella heard a familiar rumbling purr of an engine. It wasn’t just any car.
She knew that sound anywhere. The sound of the Rolls Royce Desmond bought for her.
She turned to look, and sure enough, the sleek, glimmering vehicle pulled up to the curb and came to a smooth halt. Her lips curled into a small smile. It was as if Desmond brought it back for her. In her mind, she will be driving it home by the end of the day.
"He must have brought it to make me jealous." Daniella said smugly. "Only if he knew that he’s practically bringing my car right to me. How convenient. He just made it easy for me."
Leonard laughed along with her. "It’s like he’s rolling out the red carpet for you. What a gentleman he is."
Daniella’s eyes sparkled with satisfaction as she kept watching the car, waiting for them to come out. The front door opened first, and Desmond’s mother came out. Even from a distance, her stern expression was evident as she adjusted her elegant shawl and surveyed the area as if she was coming there for the first time.
Next, the back door opened, and Bella stepped out. She has a smirk already forming on her lips. Finally, the driver's door swung open, and Desmond himself emerged. He adjusted the cuffs of his tailored suit. Looking at his face, it was calm and unreadable. He wasn't looking like someone who was about to face his worst fear.
"Look at them." Daniella sneered at Leonard. "Look at how they are walking like they have already won, as if they stand a chance. They think showing up in style is going to intimidate me."
"Let them have their moment for the last time." Leonard smirked. "It will make it even sweeter when we walk out of here with the car and leave the bike for them."
As the three were coming closer to the entrance door, Daniella’s confidence only grew. When they were close enough, she mockingly called out. "Look at them, coming as if they were promised victory."
Desmond's mother stopped in her tracks and glanced at Daniella. She had wanted to avoid her till the end of the show, but Daniella was already trying to gain some attention.
"I'm sure you people intentionally came with my beautiful car to make me jealous. But unfortunately for you people, you just made this so much easier for me by bringing it right to the courthouse. How thoughtful! By the end of today, I’ll be driving it home with my boyfriend." She said, and Mrs. Elizabeth’s eyes flashed with anger. She had been trying to control her rage before the court kick off, but Daniella wasn't helping matters.
"You wicked and ungrateful wretched soul," she boiled in anger. "You are even proud, talking nonsense to my face. How dare you? After everything this family did for you. After all the love I gave you. You are such a very terrible animal." She vented, but Daniella only smiled at her.
"What can I say, Mrs. Elizabeth? It’s not my fault you didn’t see through me sooner. You came to me, remember? You practically begged me to marry your precious son. It’s not my fault I played the game better." Daniella said, and Mrs. Elizabeth got more tense and then took a step closer to Daniella.
