At the other side, Desmond was wearing his clothes, getting ready to visit the court. The moment he would finally put an end to Daniella's schemes. She thought she was walking into victory, that half of his empire was already hers. But she had no idea what was waiting for her.
On his desk lay a neatly stacked pile of papers. At the very top was the prenuptial agreement. A document Daniella had signed out of excitement. She was too excited and too focused on her scheme to pay attention to the fine print.
Today, Desmond couldn't wait to see the look on her face when she learned the truth. When she realizes she wasn’t entitled to a single penny of his properties or assets. She had built her ambitions on a foundation that would crumble beneath her.
He could already imagine the shock on Daniella’s face, the disbelief when she realized she had been outmaneuvered. She had been gloating, too confident that the divorce would leave Desmond devastated and stripped of everything he had worked for. Instead, he had played the long game, biding his time and ensuring that her overconfidence would be her downfall.
A few minutes later, his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth, knocked and entered his room. Desmond was surprised to see her already dressed.
"You are dressed? Where are you going?" Desmond asked. He didn't remember telling his mother that she would be going with him.
"I'm coming with you." She replied.
"There is no need for that. You don't need to stress yourself. I’ve got everything under control, Mom. There’s no need for you to come." Desmond stared.
"No need for me to come? Desmond, that woman has disrespected this family in every possible way. I’m coming with you, and that’s not up for debate. Don't even try to stop me." The mom said, and Desmond sighed, knowing he couldn’t talk her out of it.
"Mom, this isn’t about confrontation. The papers will speak for themselves. She won’t get what she wants. You already know that. Please stay behind."
"No, I’m going to be there to make sure she knows it." His mom insisted.
Before Desmond could respond, Bella, his younger sister, appeared in the doorway. She has already dressed up to go with Desmond as well. She was wearing black trouser and a matching top.
"I’m coming too," Bella announced, stepping into the room with her usual flair.
Desmond raised an eyebrow, clearly exasperated. "Bella, there’s no need for you to come. Mom is already coming with me. This is not a family outing."
"I’m not taking no for an answer. Daniella needs to know she can’t play games with us. I want to leave a mark on her body." Bella said, and Desmond shook his head, trying to dissuade her. "Listen, Bella. We are not going there to fight her. This is about signing the papers and walking away. Daniella is going to realize she has been outsmarted, and that is all that matters." Desmond said, and Bella crossed her arms.
"I’m still coming. Don’t worry. I won’t start anything. But if she tries something, I won’t back down." She said, and Desmond relented with a sigh. "Fine, but I’m warning you both. This isn’t about drama. Don’t escalate things. Let her dig her own grave."
As they prepared to leave, Bella smirked and pointed to the Rolls Royce parked in the driveway. The car Desmond bought for Daniella. "I want us to take her car." She said, and Desmond chuckled softly, "Why? We have other cars."
"I want her to see us in the car. I want to stir her emotions more. Please don't say no." She pouted her mouth while looking at Desmond.
"I think it will be nice. Perfect choice. We will use it." Desmond replied, and Bella smiled. She was well prepared for Daniella.
They stepped outside, and he unlocked the car and then opened the doors for his mother and sister. Mrs. Elizabeth settled into the front seat, while Bella climbed into the back.
Desmond got into the driver’s seat and took a moment to glance at the folder containing the prenuptial agreement, tucked neatly in the glove compartment.
He smiled and started the engine. He added a little pressure on the pedals, gliding the car out of the driveway. Today wasn’t just about ending the marriage. It was about reclaiming full control of everything. And he couldn’t wait to see the look on Daniella’s face when realizes she has fought in vain.
