"Every time, after we had sex, she would take contraceptive pills. She told me that they were vitamin pills." Patrick laughed bitterly. "She didn't know that the pills in the bottles were no longer contraceptive pills. I replaced them with vitamin pills of the same shape and taste."
It was as if Patrick could no longer hold back the pain in his heart. He said in a daze, "Although I changed the medicine, I still felt an unspeakable pain every time I saw her take out a pill from the bottle and take it."
Patrick punched his left chest slightly with his fist. There were tears in his eyes.
Sean was stunned when Patrick raised his head. He said in surprise, "Patrick?"
Could Patrick still reject Gloria? Sean was suspicious.
"You don't have a mate yet. The bond between mates can't be removed." Patrick tapped his chest again.
Sean's thin lips twitched slightly, yet he didn't know what to say. Comforting words seemed useless in the face of such crazy affection.
Sean reached out and patted Patrick on the shoulder. He said, "Back then when you rejected Gloria and sent her to the werewolf prison, did you think that you would regret it one day?"
Although his words would hurt Patrick, as Patrick's friend, Sean had to be frank. "Patrick, you gave up your love for her and hurt her deeply. Now, she wants to leave you. You should let her go. This is what you owe her."
Patrick pushed Sean's hand away and said, "Leave me. I need some time alone."
Sean wanted to say something more, but in the end, he sighed.
He stood up. He knew that Patrick needed to stay alone for a while, so he went straight to the manager and booked the entire restaurant.
"Tell everyone to leave, including the staff," Sean told the manager.
After a while, only Patrick, who was sitting by the table, was left in the empty restaurant.
With soothing music and a relaxing atmosphere, Patrick was struggling inside.
No one knew what the Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack was thinking. Sean could only see that Patrick propped his forehead on his hand and didn't move for a long time.
Standing outside the restaurant, Sean leaned against the glass window and was smoking. This was the fifth time he had glanced at the watch on his wrist.
"It's been two hours." Sean was a little worried. Patrick had locked himself in a restaurant for two hours and was motionless like a statue.
Sean looked back and muttered, "Patrick, I thought that you fell asleep since you didn't move at all."
Suddenly, Sean's eyes lit up. He turned around and strode toward the door, which was pushed open from the inside.
"Patrick, you finally came out." Sean put his hand on Patrick's shoulder and tried to ease the atmosphere. "Where are we going now?"
"We'll go to see Parker," Patrick said.
Sean was surprised. "What?"
Patrick looked forward coldly, just like an aggressive wolf king. "We can return home sooner after we deal with those bastards."
Sean knew Patrick well. His heart trembled when he saw Patrick's aggressive look. He asked cautiously, "What about Gloria?"
'Moon Goddess, please bless them,' Sean prayed in his heart. He was afraid that Patrick would be stubborn and indulge in endless pain with Gloria.
Patrick hesitated for a moment, but he quickly hid his emotions.
Only he knew about the confusion in his heart. He thought that even the Moon Goddess was unable to enlighten him.
They settled all the troubles, found the traitor, and made an agreement with Parker's pack. Even if they had returned to Gabbs, Patrick still did not give Sean an answer.
In the car back to the Black Thorn Pack, Sean hesitated for a long time. He bit the bullet and mentioned the topic again. "Patrick, what are you going to do about Gloria?"
"She is my mate and the Luna of the Black Thorn Pack. We will have children," Patrick answered without hesitation.
Sean choked. He turned to look at Patrick's cold profile and felt it absurd. Patrick avoided the topic.
Sean couldn't believe that the Alpha of the largest pack in Gabbs and the cold and ruthless wolf king had chosen to be a coward.
"Don't get involved in the matter between me and her," Patrick warned. "Leonard will send you back later. You don't have to go into the villa."
"Do you think that as long as you have a child, she will give up her hatred and accept you again?" Sean asked with a frown.
Patrick's expression suddenly changed. He shouted, "Shut up! Sean, it is none of your business."
"Didn't she take contraceptive pills every time she made love with you?" Sean continued, ignoring Patrick's anger.
Patrick's face darkened. He clenched his fist and pressed it against the leather seat heavily.
"Patrick, let her go." Sean raised his head and looked at Patrick genuinely. "For so many years, you have never given her what she wants. This time, just let her go. I am a doctor. I know what a werewolf will become after losing his wolf and being tortured mentally. Do you want to see her going crazy? Do you want an insane mate?"
"Shut up! I told you to shut up!" Patrick's eyes turned red. He punched the seat and the car made a loud noise.
"Stop the car!" He roared. He could not accept that Gloria would leave him.
Patrick released Alpha's aura. The driver lowered his head and trembled. The atmosphere in the car suddenly became suffocating.
"Get out of the car!" Patrick raised his chin at Sean and ordered.
Sean did not argue with Patrick anymore. He got out of the car silently and looked meaningfully at Patrick. He said, "Alpha Patrick, you are the leader of the Black Thorn Pack, and managing the pack is your responsibility. If we had known that Gloria would make you out of hand, we might have killed her four years ago."
Patrick's eyes turned gloomier. He gave Sean a warning look and then turned to the driver. "Go."
The car drove off. Patrick closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead tiredly.
The car stopped in front of the Alpha's villa. After they arrived home, Patrick turned to the driver and said, "Go and send Sean home."
He walked past Kevin and strode into the house.
Just as he entered the hall, he grabbed Gloria.
"What are you doing?" Gloria freaked out and struggled.
Patrick didn't say a word and dragged her upstairs.
"Patrick, have you lost your mind!"
Gloria's scream echoed in the villa.
