Ellison and Patrick were exhausted from fighting. They lay on the ground, panting heavily with wounds on their bodies.
When Leonard arrived with a group of people, he saw Ellison and Patrick fighting back and forth.
Ellison's subordinates stood aside and did not make a move. Leonard understood that it was a one-on-one battle between Ellison and Patrick, and their subordinates didn't need to participate in it.
Thus, Leonard confronted Ellison's subordinates.
They were all elites among the guards of the pack. Although they did not make a move, the atmosphere between them was tense.
Though Ellison and Patrick were exhausted and fell to the ground, no one went up to help them.
After a while, Ellison's phone rang. He took it out and pressed the answer button. He listened to it and then put on a satisfied smile.
Ellison got up from the ground, and his footsteps were a little unsteady. He looked down at Patrick, who was still lying on the ground, and said proudly, "I had fun. But I'm done with you today. Bye."
After that, he waved his hand at Patrick.
Patrick didn't stop him. He sat up from the ground but didn't stand up immediately. His brows were furrowed as he watched Ellison limp away.
From what he knew of him, Ellison would not come just to provoke him.
Patrick narrowed his eyes as he pondered over Ellison's true intention.
Though Patrick was suspicious of him, he was in a rush to see Gloria.
He would have plenty of time to get even with Ellison anyway.
"Christine, where are you?" Patrick contacted Christine while standing up and walking toward Leonard's car. He said to Leonard, "The car key."
Ellison got in the car and sat in the back seat. Beside him was his good friend who hadn't gotten out of the car. He handed Ellison a tissue and said, "Wipe your face. It seems that you have been beaten up."
"You just sit in the car and watch the show." Ellison glanced at him.
"You came to the warehouse and stalled Patrick just to buy her time to escape. Just now, your subordinates confirmed that she had left Gabbs and called you, right? Don't you think that you are too nosy? Ellison, what's the point of doing this?"
Ellison smiled. He knew very well why he needed to do so. He said to his friend, "I'm trying to atone for my sins and seek forgiveness from the Moon Goddess."
"Atone for your sins? Did I hear it wrong? Seriously?" Ellison's friend asked in surprise.
Ellison looked back and said, "Four years ago, I hurt a strange woman for my own interests. So, shouldn't I help out that strange woman now?"
Ellison always felt a little guilty toward Gloria. But, only a little.
Ellison's friend smiled sarcastically. Ellison said that he had "hurt" an innocent woman. In fact, he had destroyed the woman's life. He only helped Gloria escape from the suffocating city, yet he said shamelessly that he was atoning for his sins.
"Ellison, you are so shameless!" The friend cursed with a smile.
"Well, thanks." Ellison nodded.
Patrick rushed to the hospital. He did not see Gloria but Christine.
When he saw Christine, she was asleep.
Leonard knocked on the door, and Christine woke up with sleepy eyes.
"You are alone. Where is Gloria?" Patrick asked impatiently.
Faced with the sullen Patrick, Christine didn't show the slightest trace of guilt. She said, "Gloria said she was thirsty and went downstairs to buy some water. Alpha Patrick, didn't you see her?"
She could help Gloria escape, yet she could not admit it in front of Patrick. Christine was still Christine. For some reason, she could take the risk to help Gloria to escape.
However, she wouldn't put herself in danger in the meantime.
Christine would never admit it in front of Patrick.
Moreover, Gloria was determined to leave even if she had to risk her life. She must have her reason, and it was pushing her at any cost.
Patrick pressed his chest. He felt heartache throughout this time. For some reason, he panicked.
"Go look for her! Now!" Patrick ordered sternly.
Leonard and others immediately carried out Patrick's order. They couldn't find Gloria after searching the entire hospital.
Patrick's handsome face turned cold. He strode toward the dean's office without a word.
"My mate is missing. I want to check the footage from the surveillance," Patrick said directly.
The dean panicked and immediately got someone to check the footage.
Christine stood quietly behind Patrick. She was nervous, but she knew that she had to keep calm.
Patrick's sharp eyes were fixed on the big screen. He stood still and suddenly shouted, "Stop!"
"Turn fifteen seconds backward. Zoom in the picture."
The staff member did as Patrick said. As the picture gradually zoomed in, its clarity reduced. Even so, Patrick still recognized Gloria from the picture.
She got into a taxi.
Patrick trembled all over. He immediately mind linked Kevin. He held a sliver of hope and asked, "Has Gloria arrived home yet?"
Kevin immediately said, "Luna Gloria? You still haven't found her yet? Leonard said that he had found her."
Patrick ended the mink link. He closed his eyes and didn't say more. Gloria had never returned to the villa.
Christine stared blankly at Patrick's tall figure. Patrick swayed and pressed his palm hard against the table to stabilize himself.
For a moment, Christine felt bad for Patrick.
However, Patrick was the strongest Alpha in this area. In the next moment, his face turned grim. He said, "Leonard, go and check all the traffic information today and see if there is any news about Gloria."
No. Patrick suddenly recalled that all Gloria's documents were with him.
Just as Leonard was about to leave, Patrick stopped him. "Wait a minute."
Patrick's cold eyes were fixed on the computer screen. He said slowly, "Don't have to check all the traffic information. Track this taxi!"
Christine's heart beat violently.
She turned to look at the screenshot on the big screen. She did not expect the license plate of the taxi to be captured by the camera.
Fortunately, she was strong-minded enough and did not give herself away.
