Trapped by Him

Chapter 215

Ch. 213 / 398 Feb 22, 2026

At the same time, in the Black Thorn Pack in Gabbs, Sean opened the door and smelt wine.

He glanced at Patrick, who was sitting on the ground, and said, "Who said he wouldn't drown his sorrows?"

Patrick, who was on the ground, didn't care at all. Holding the bottle, he poured the wine into his mouth, surrounded by bottles of different sizes.

"Say something!" Sean looked at the drunk Patrick with inexplicable sadness and anger deep in his heart.

Finally, Sean could not stand it anymore. He grabbed Patrick by the collar and shouted at Patrick, "Wake up! You said you would find her as long as you lived, right? And look at you now!"

Sean thought, 'I didn't buy it when Beta Kevin called me. In the past three years, even in the worst of his sorrows, Patrick has never drowned his sorrows in alcohol.

Patrick once told me that he didn't even have enough time to look for Gloria. How would he waste time drinking his sorrows away?'

"Patrick, get up! Wake up! You said that you would find Gloria no matter what. Have you forgotten what you said? Or are you as useless as Derrick? It has only been three years, and you have already given up?" Sean tugged at Patrick's collar, which had already been too dirty to tell how expensive it once was.

Yet Sean did not mind it. Right now, all he wanted to do was to drag Patrick, the worst of the worst, out of his damn depravity!

Suddenly, Patrick's self-deprecating chuckle came out unexpectedly.

Sean was stunned for a second and asked, "What are you laughing at?"

He grabbed Patrick's collar even harder, but Patrick didn't stop laughing. Instead, he laughed harder.

"What the fuck are you laughing at? Is it so funny?" Sean scolded angrily.

"Yes." Patrick's hair was so long that it covered his eyes. Sean couldn't see the expression on Patrick's face. Instead, all he could see was Patrick's mouth moving. "What a fool I am. I slept next to the truth every day, and yet I have been wrong all this time."

"Sober up! What the fuck are you talking about?" Sean figured that Patrick was too drunk and started talking nonsense.

"I am very sober. Let go of me!" Patrick, who was drunk, removed Sean's hand that was holding his collar. Then he lowered his head and said, "I've never been this sober before."

Ignoring Sean, Patrick spoke to himself with his head hung. In front of Sean, he slowly spread out his palm, which had been clenched into a fist from the beginning.

"This is what was on her mind. She wrote her love right here next to my pillow. Sean, I can't. I can't move on after reading this." Patrick's voice was full of sadness.

In the direction of Patrick's finger, Sean looked at the bedside table, only to see that it was moved. At the original position, a corner of the floor had been pried open. Then he looked at Patrick's palm again.

Sean could not express the shock in his heart with words.

He was dumbfounded while hearing his good friend speak dejectedly and incoherently, "If I had not moved the bedside table when I was picking up my phone, I would never have known about this. I guess this is a punishment from the Moon Goddess."

Sean realized that Patrick had discovered Gloria's long-held secret from the removed bedside table.

"If only I hadn't dropped my phone... If only I hadn't picked it up," Patrick muttered to himself.

Sean clenched his fists. Patrick's frustrated words irritated him.

Sean wanted to punch Patrick to wake him up, but at the sight of the depressed Patrick, he didn't have the heart to do it.

"If only I had found out earlier!" Patrick finally cried out the deepest regret in his heart.

Patrick thought, 'If I had found this piece of paper earlier, would it have turned out differently for us?'

Sean looked at the man in front of him. He had never seen such a depressed Alpha Patrick. Even when the Black Thorn Pack was on the verge of collapsing, Patrick had never lost his composure like this.

Sean turned around and strode out the door.

Kevin dutifully waited outside the hallway and kept a three-meter distance from the door.

Sean walked out the door and saw Kevin at once. "Come with me," Sean deadpanned.

Kevin hesitated for a moment, but Sean did not stop walking past him.

Kevin did not have a choice. He glanced in the direction of Patrick's bedroom and followed Sean.

"Sean, where are you going?" Kevin followed Sean down the stairs, but Sean did not have any intention of explaining himself, so Kevin asked again.

Sean, however, simply walked quickly and did not say a word at all. He soon walked to a small door.

"Why are we here?" Kevin asked, puzzled.

Sean pushed the door open. Kevin had no choice but to follow Sean and went down the stairs to the basement.

The basement was still bathed in a warm, dim yellow light. The light was not particularly intense, and the place smelled of wine.

Without hesitation, Sean strode over to the last row of wine racks, picked up bottles from the rack, and threw them at Kevin. Until Kevin couldn't hold any bottles anymore, Sean took four more bottles in his arms. He remained silent the whole time. Then he turned around and walked upstairs with Kevin.

Kevin did not know what was going on and just followed Sean.

They came to the doorway of Patrick's bedroom, and Sean kicked it open. He threw the bottles in his arms to the bed rudely, not caring if he might break the expensive wine at all.

"Beta Kevin, you may put down the bottles and leave," Sean turned around and said.

"Sean, Alpha Patrick was very drunk," Kevin said worriedly.

"Put them down and leave. I'll take full responsibility for what happens to him," Sean said impatiently.

Kevin gritted his teeth. He was still worried.

Seeing Kevin like that, Sean did not say anything else. Instead, he reached out, took the bottles from Kevin's arms, and threw them on the bed. The clatter of bottles frightened him.

Kevin wanted to say something, yet Sean pushed him out of the bedroom. Before Kevin could react, the door slammed in front of him.

In the bedroom, Sean, with a cold face, silently picked up two bottles of whiskey from the bed and opened them. He offered one to Patrick, who was sitting on the ground beside the bed. "Take it. I'll drink with you," Sean said.

Yet Patrick did not seem to have heard Sean at all. He kept staring at the piece of paper in his palm.

Sean narrowed his eyes, stood next to Patrick, kicked Patrick with his toes, and said, "Let's drink."

At any other time, Patrick would have given Sean a good beating, but right now, Patrick was completely unresponsive.

Sean felt a sharp pain in his heart.

He thought, 'Is this still Patrick? He is the Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack, the king of Gabbs, and all werewolves worshiped him!'
