Cielo's perspective
When the following morning finally came, Luna Eero's favorite tea awaited her at the dining table. We heard the couple. Clau couldn't get enough of her again last night, and this tea would help restore her energy from the sleepless night that she had.
Her cheeks blushed as she pulled her chair.
“We were loud again?” She asked, biting her tongue afterward. I nodded my head at her and she grinned awkwardly.
“It's okay. You and the Alpha are a young couple filled with energy.”
“It's best if we make the room soundproof. Don't you think so?”
“I am afraid the Alpha would say no to that. The reason his room wasn't soundproof is for him to hear any noises from outside.” She paused.
“It's one of his precautionary measures in case someone attacked the pack while he was sleeping. It would wake him up fast,” I explained to her.
Her fingers hugged her mug and she slowly sipped her morning tea. I went back to chopping the ingredients for our lunch when I noticed that she was zoning out.
“Luna, is everything alright?” I asked her while I was putting the knife on top of the cutting board.
Luna Eero blinked her eyes. The combination of her hazel brown eyes and that icy-blonde hair reminded me so much of the female Xerxes.
“I have been dreaming of this throne room,” she said to me.
It quickly piqued my interest. I stripped the apron off me and went to her.
“What does it look like?” Luna Eero shook her head.
“I am sure that throne room only exists in my dreams. Maybe I am just excited about the day to come when I'll see Claudius on the realm's throne, hence why I am dreaming of it. I often think about it.”
“Or perhaps there's a throne room that awaits your presence,” I said in a low voice.
“What is it, Cielo?” She asked curiously.
“I said tell me more about this throne room,” I tempted her.
“There's a huge stained-glass window behind the throne itself. The throne was made of uhm gold and on the backrest of it was a howling head of a dire wolf.”
It's decades since I last saw a throne that looked exactly like she was describing to me, but I let her rummage through her head for details that she could remember about the throne room.
“Uhm… there's a pillar, four on the left and the same number on the right. I couldn't exactly remember the surrounding carvings, but there are dire wolves around it.” She snapped her finger. “And then the double door that leads inside the throne room was a double door. I've never seen such a huge door that was made from strong iron and gold, while it handles feature the same head of the dire wolf.”
My heart skipped a beat, at her last description.
“That's the Harren Hall, the throne room of Regulus. Not even Claudius knew what the Harren Hall looked like, but Eero got the major details of it right,” my wolf had whispered to me.
“That woman was a long-lost Xerxes, and the realm was slowly calling her.” It added.
I stared at her for a few seconds.
“I can't believe that there's still someone alive from that family,” I whispered to myself, but her ear caught those.
“Cielo, you've been whispering things and I can't understand most of them. Please, speak more cohesively.”
I hugged Luna Eero and though she wasn't expecting it, she hugged me back.
“Cielo, you're acting weird. What is going on with you?”
“I… I-I need to do something, Luna. Please, allow me to leave the pack house for a few hours.”
Eero smiled at me.
“Of course. I'll take over the work in the kitchen. I miss cooking for Claudius,” she said, but I ran off to my room and grabbed a ceremonial knife to call the Sun God that everyone in Regulus prays to.
In a spot in the middle of the forest where no one would be able to see me and where the sun directly hit my face, I wounded my palm with the ceremonial knife used to call the Sun God.
“Soren, all mighty Sun of God and husband of the Moon Goddess, hear my plea and let this lowly being enter your temple,” I chanted until I felt a wind move around my body and upon opening my eyes, I found myself in Soren's eternal garden.
“It's a long time since you last called to me, my priestess. Are you finally going back to serve in my temple?” He asked.
Claudius thought that I was just a plain servant of the realm, but the truth was I was a direct servant of the Sun God, who chose to abandon the temple to save him from his cradle after I'd foreseen the war that Codrus had started.
“You are a God that highly favors the Xerxes, both you and the Moon Goddess do. I was right. Eero came from that family. That's why she has the power to heal.”
The Sun God smirked at me, “You've been apart from my temple that you no longer trust the whispers of the special ability that I gave you. Why did you have to call for me when you already knew that she was?”
“Since the day that Claudius brought her to the pack, I know you felt how special she was. You were just denying it to yourself because when the truth about her real identity comes out, you will have to pick between her or Claudius whom you had raised like your son.”
“And what do you want me to do?”
“To let the rightful heir of the realm and Regulus ascend the throne.”
“Are you asking me to betray Claudius?”
“Would you decide to betray me and Eero perhaps? Will you let the throne be usurped from its rightful owner the second time around, my priestess?” He asked me and I remained silent.
“You can't tell anyone about this for now. Let the truth unravel at its own right pace or a great war shall break and cause the fall of the realm and the pack,” Soren warned, and when I opened my eyes, I was back in the middle of the forest.
Eero came running straight to me after she saw the wound in my palm.
“What happened to you? Were you attacked?” She asked worriedly.
“Luna, you have to brace yourself.”
“Huh?”
“You have to make Claudius madly in love with you, that if he has to choose between you or the realm and Regulus, he'll choose you,” I said, and that's what I could tell her for now.
