Eero's perspective
Biting my fingernails, I was not sure how I'd tell Claudius that I am now in love with him too. I asked Soleil to prepare a bubble bath for me after dinner, and now I am soaking in the tub.
I almost forgot that Soleil was sitting next to me until she spoke.
“You seemed to be in trouble? Are you thinking about the throne room that you always dreamed of?”
I opened my eyes and shook my head at her.
“It may sound so surprising because I was obsessed with finding out if such a throne room existed, but it's not what I am thinking of right at this moment.”
Soleil cleared her throat, and then she moved her face closer to mine. “I am your lady-in-waiting and your best friend. I am all ears. Tell me and who knows? I might have the best advice for that problem of yours.”
“I think I have fallen for Claudius.” I looked at her anxiously, but saw no changes in her expression.
“You think? Didn't you fall for him a long time ago? You guys can't keep your hands off each other. The two of you want to be close with each other every single time. I don't think the two of you knew what a personal space is, and besides…," she licked her lip and then lowered her voice.
“You guys know that the whole house can hear you every morning and night, right?”
“Soleil!” My cheeks burned out of embarrassment.
“I heard gossips that the Alpha is wild and a total monster in bed, but he is a great fucker. Is that true?”
I glared at Soleil, but she only chuckled at me.
“W-Well he is…”
“Aww, cute. I should call Caspian to my room once I am done with my services to you. I want to be railed so bad that I won't be able to walk tomorrow.”
“Should I tell him?”
“Tell the Alpha that you are in love?” Soleil asked, and I answered her with a simple nudge of my head.
“Alpha Claudius is good at reading people. I think he already knew that you are, before you figured out that you are in love, but yes, you should tell him. He would have surely loved to hear 'I love you' from you.”
Not too long after, I got out of my bath and Soleil left me in the master's bedroom. Claudius walked in. I watched every bit of his movement through the vanity mirror where I was at combing my hair.
“Are you almost done with the baby room? You have been working on it for the whole day,” I commented.
“A few more days and I am done with it. I need to meet Alpha Callus of Nirvana tomorrow. He told me that he has a business proposal.” I yawned and Claudius saw it.
“I'll take a quick bath, and I'll be in the bed with you,” he said. I looked up to him, asking for a kiss, but it was the top of my head that he smooched with his lips.
“Later, little wolf. I am still sweaty.”
My eyes were almost closing on their own when Claudius stepped out of our bathroom. Drying his hair with a small towel, he took the book from the drawer of our bed-side table, and then he settled next to me.
“Hey, Perseus… are you feeling sleepy now? Daddy will start reading to you,” he said.
“I can't wait for the day to come that he'll start kicking to communicate with me.” The thought of it made my face contorted in pain.
Claudius placed his head on top of my belly while he read the bedtime story while I played with the strand of his hair.
“Goodnight pups. I can't wait to see you,” he whispered in my belly before he kissed and crawl up to share a pillow with me.
“Goodnight mate.” Claudius pecked on my lips, then he began nuzzling my neck with his eyes closed.
“Claudius,” I urged him. His eyes remained closed, pretending that he had already fallen asleep, even when I knew that he was not.
“Please play the music box for me.”
He groaned but did what I was asking.
My eyes slowly closed, drifting to dreamland, while I could still hear the cello and the drums from the music box.
*****
The pair of palace guards wearing armor opened the golden double door for me as they saw me approaching the throne room. Each time I see the intricate carvings at the door and the dire wolf sigil in the middle of it, it still amused me no matter how much I've seen it.
“Welcome back, princess,” said by the palace guard on the right, which made me smile because this was the first time that they were talking to me.
“He is waiting for you inside.”
“Who is?” He only gestured the way inside the throne room without saying another thing, and I was left with no choice, but to bring myself inside of it.
The golden throne that I am now familiar with has someone sitting on it, but the darkness of the hall was making it hard for me to see his face.
“A-Alpha King?” I called nervously. The man sitting on the throne moved an inch, revealing his face.
“Claudius? Why are you sitting on the throne?” I asked confusedly.
Fear swirled in my chest after he stood up from the throne and the double door where I came from closed.
“How dare you take what's mine? Have you forgotten that you only used to be my breeder?” Tears welled up in my eyes. I took a step back, and tried to run away from Claudius, whose eyes were filled with wrath, but he caught me still.
I pursed my lips and my whole body started to shake after he pointed a knife at my throat.
“Claudius, please. I don't understand what you are talking about. I am not trying to take anything from you.” I shut my eyes and sharp pain trailed my skin after he pressed his knife harder against my throat, so I started to bleed.
“The realm is mine, Eero. Regulus is mine to rule over, and I won't let my cheap whore take it from me! I won't let you do that!” Claudius said before he finally slit my throat. I held my wound in the hope that it would stop me from bleeding, but to no use.
Claudius smirking at me evilly was the last thing that I saw before I died.
