Eero’s perspective
Whatever Serra did, one thing was for sure. She would never win back my heart or my trust. But there was something I needed to confirm. So here I was standing outside Soleil's room.
The male voice in Soleil's room was way too similar to Caspian's. So I got the confirmation that I needed, the Beta and my bestfriend were indeed fucking.
“Holy fuck!” Caspian exclaimed after his eyes fell right through me after he opened the door and got out of Soleil's room.
“You two have something to explain, huh?” I asked, holding Caspian's chest and pushing him back inside the room.
“Luna…" Soleil was very.
“I… I wasn't cheating on Serra, okay? I've made it clear that I'd never see her as my mate.”
“Are you saying that you are choosing Soleil over Serra? How long have you been doing this behind my back?”
“I think this is my personal affair,” Caspian answered in a disrepectful manner.
“Luna, why aren't you sleeping in bed now? It's not good for the baby if you stay up late.”
“Oh Sol. Don't you dare change the topic! Just answer my question.” I was far more furious at Soleil's little trick.
“How did you even find out about our relationship—”
“Luna, we are not in a relationship.” Soleil chimed in before Caspian could finish his words.
My jaw dropped at what came out of Soleil's mouth. “You're fucking each other? But you're not in a relationship? Are fuck buddies?”
“It's late, Luna. Let me help you back to your room.” Soleil offered, but wasn't able to take a step as my hand pointing at her didn't move at all.
“Fine. I'm not going to get myself involve in your stupid thing.” I was close to leaving Soleil's room when I recalled something. “But reject Serra as your mate the first thing in the morning, Caspian. If you'll never claim her as your mate, then at least let her wolf live.”
Caspian only nodded his head as I closed the door. And then I heard the two bickering.
“Where were you? I thought you were not feeling well?” My heart skipped a beat hearing that voice.
Claudius was waiting for me in the room. I took off the hood of my jacket and stripped it out of my body.
“I went to confirm something.”
“And that is...?” He continued to ask.
“I'm not in the place to tell you about that, Claudius.”
The Alpha suddenly laughed, his patience thinning. “It's the second time someone had said the same thing to me…"
“Go ahead and wait for me in your office. There's something that I need to tell you. I'll just make us tea first.” I offered.
“OK. I'll be waiting for you at my office then,” he said. His expression didn't even change, still passive.
*********
The teapot was already placed on the bronze tray, as well as the teacups. One of the pregnancy kits that I used earlier today was in the pocket of my jeans.
Claudius was just watching me pour tea for him. It seemed that both of us could feel the wild beat of my heart.
“Thank you.” Claudius took over the teacup from my hand.
“Now, what's it that you want to tell me?”
I sighed.
“Caspian and Soleil, they're seeing each other, but not really.”
Claudius forehead knotted and the beaming happiness on his lips faltered.
“You looked serious earlier. You even made tea. And that's the only thing you are going to tell me?!”
“Yes?” I said, sounding unsure of myself.
“Baby, I already have an idea about it. I'd rather not ask you because I want you to open about it yourself, but you're rather taking an awful time to tell it to me.”
“You know that I'm pregnant?” I asked him, surprised.
“I've found out about it after we got back from the outskirts.”
“There is no point in delaying the announcement now. I was just nervous, especially after what had happened in outskirts. I think that you're still mad at me.”
“I can't stay mad at you for a long time, Eero.”
I took out the pregnancy kit from my pocket and handed it to him, at last.
“You're going to be a father. I'm carrying the first pup. Nine more to go?” I joked, referencing to the initial deal between up.
Claudius, though smiling at me, remained on his swivel chair. I thought that maybe he no longer wanted to have kids with me. Then I heard drums suddenly.
“I ordered them to do that. To tell everyone in the pack that our first heir will be born soon,” Claudius said.
Claudius pulled me towards him gently and I settled myself on top of his lap. “I was dying to do this and feel the baby's heartbeat.”
“His heartbeat, Alpha. I was told twice that it's a boy.” Claudius looked up at me as if my words had reminded him of that old woman.
“I will change your fate, Alpha, just as how you've changed mine. You'll be the Alpha King.”
Smile was back on Claudius' face.
“When do you plan to go back to your homeland?” I asked.
“A month after you give birth to our son. I want our heir to grow up in Regulus.”
