Bella headed to her mother's ward to see her. As she approached her mother's room, she reached out to grab the door handle, but to her surprise, it was locked.
She frowned, wondering why the door was locked. She could hear some people murmuring in the room, along with the sound of beeping machines.
Bella's curiosity got the better of her, and she leaned in to peer through the small glass window. What she saw made her heart swell with happiness.
The nurses were busy attending to her mother, administering medication, and checking her body. Her mother looked pale and weak, but she was stable, and the nurses seemed to be taking good care of her.
Bella felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. Whoever had paid for her mother's treatment had given her hope. As she stood there, watching the nurses care for her mother, Bella felt a sense of peace settle over her. She knew that her mother was in good hands and that she would receive the best care possible.
She turned away from the window and leaned against the wall, taking a deep breath. Finally, her mother will be okay.
The early morning sunlight streaming through the hospital window cast a warm glow over the room as Bella's mother's friend, Mrs. Johnson, walked in.
Mrs. Johnson approached Bella, who was sitting in a chair beside her mother's bed, and gave her a gentle hug. "How's your mother doing?" she asked her with a soft voice.
Bella filled her in on the latest developments, including the mysterious benefactor who had paid for her mother's treatment.
As they chatted, Mrs. Johnson suddenly asked, "Have you spoken to Desmond recently?"
Bella's expression turned concerned. "Actually, I tried calling him yesterday, but he didn't pick up," she replied. She continued to tell her about her encounter with Daniella. Mrs. Johnson got angry and dialed Desmond's number.
"Hello, why did you block your sister's number?" The woman asked just as Desmond picked the call. Desmond was sitting on his bed while Daniella was taking his bath.
"What are you talking about? I don't understand." Desmond asked.
"Your sister said she had been calling you and you aren't picking." Mrs. Johnson stated.
"When? I didn't see her call or even her missed call." Desmond replied.
"So your fiancée didn't inform you? Your sister said she was trying to reach you, and you were not picking up. She said your fiancée picked up the call and warned her never to call your number again."
"My fiancée said that?" Desmond was confused.
"Yeah, after talking with her, she couldn't reach you again. She even came to visit you, and you were not at home. Your fiancée kicked her out."
"All these things happened yesterday?"
"Yeah, she was calling to tell you that your mom is in the hospital."
"My mother? I have no idea. What happened to her?" Desmond asked. Daniella was hearing what they were saying. She was angry that someone was reaching out to him.
"She had been in ICU since yesterday. How will you know when you blocked her?"
"I didn't block anyone. Oh my! This is not happening!" Desmond exclaimed. "Which hospital let me come there now?"
"Spring Gold Hospital."
"I will be on my way now." Desmond said and cut the phone. He was angry. Her mother was sick, and Daniella didn't tell him.
He wanted to confront her but decided to save it till he comes back. He needed to see her mother. He wore his clothes and picked one of the car keys he could get his hands on.
He left without bothering to take his bath. Nothing else matters to him at that moment except to meet his mother.
