"His girlfriend?" Stacey asked.
"Yeah, remember I told you they had been having problems. I think that's why they are arguing." Anabel replied. At this moment, Jethro's and his girlfriend's voices became loud and clear.
"You have stopped picking up my calls for a few days now." Jethro's girlfriend yelled. "I've explained that it's just a message that doesn't mean much. I've told you before, he's just a friend and nothing much. I don't know why you are seeing it as a big deal."
"What do you take me for? A fool? I'm not a kid, Stella. I'm mature enough to know what that text is all about. That message is clear to understand. What does he want to do with you at night? Is he texting you for a business meeting or what?"
"I can see you don't love me. You are finding faults, looking for a way to blame me, and bring another girl in. If you really love me, you won't be saying this. Just because of a common text, you start acting like a kid. Who is that girl?"
"Don't even try to act smart in this. I'm not seeing any girl. You are the one cheating." Jethro stated.
"I know that's what you will say, always acting like a kid." Stella said, and Jethro got more offended.
"Ohh! I'm now acting like a kid, huh?" He asked before adding. "You know what? Just leave me." They heard Jethro speak. Anabel's eyes met Stacey's, and she could see the concern etched on her friend's face. But deep down, Stacey was happy to hear Jethro telling his girlfriend to leave. The thought of him being single again was exciting. It will make Jethro give her more attention.
Anabel, on the other hand, was genuinely worried about her brother. She had always liked Stella and thought they made a great couple. She didn't want to see them break up, even though Stacey was at the side to take over.
"Are you chasing me out of your house?" Stella asked Jethro.
"I'm not just chasing you. I'm kicking you out. Just leave. Leave my house." Jethro ordered.
"Are you breaking up with me?" Her tone changed to a pity one. She didn't see that coming. "You want to break up with me just because of a small misunderstanding?"
Stacey's heart began to race. She was curious and expecting Jethro to break up with Stella. Anabel noticed Stacey's gaze and turned to her, raising an eyebrow. "Are you okay?" she whispered.
Stacey nodded, trying to appear concerned. "Yeah, I'm just worried about Jethro and his girlfriend. He seems really upset."
"Hmmmm, are you sure you are really worried about them?" Anabel asked her.
"Why won't I? I don't want him to be heartbroken." Stacey answered.
"I thought you would be wishing he would break up with her." Anabel teased.
"Why will I wish him bad luck?"
"If you say so. I thought otherwise." Stacey said and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
"Yeah, I'm breaking up with you. Go and be with him." Stacey heard Jethro say and felt a butterfly in her chest. That was what she wanted to hear. She didn't know when she started smiling at herself. She was thinking of Jethro and how it will feel to have him for herself.
"Please, don't do this. There was no other guy. You are the only one I have. I love you, Jethro. I cannot love any other guy. Don't end this lovely relationship." Stacey heard Stella speak. She was worried, wishing that Jethro would not listen to her.
"I'm not. You can't deceive me, Stella. Not anymore. Now leave my house." Jethro ordered, and Stacey felt a surge of excitement at the words. It was really getting over between them.
She couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe this would be her chance to get closer to Jethro, to see if there was a possibility of something more between them.
