Sylvester was sitting in his living room, sipping on a glass of whiskey, when he heard a knock on the door. He glanced at the clock; it was just past eight in the evening. He wasn't expecting anyone, but he got up and opened the door to find his old friend, Marcus, standing there.
"Marcus! What a surprise. You didn't tell me you are coming." Sylvester said, stepping aside to let him in. "You can come in."
Marcus walked in. "I said let me drop by and catch up. It's been a while."
Sylvester nodded, closing the door behind him. "Yeah, it has. Make yourself comfortable."
They settled down on the living room, and Sylvester handed Marcus a cup of whiskey. "So, what's new with you? I Heard you have been busy with some big plans."
Sylvester smirked and took a sip of his drink before replying him. "You could say that. I've been working on something... something interesting."
Marcus raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What is that?"
Sylvester leaned back, a confident glint in his eye. "You remember Anabel, right? The one who took over her father's automobile company?"
Marcus nodded. "Yeah, I remember. What about her?"
"I'm planning to get close to her," Sylvester said with a low and calculated voice. "She got money, power, and influence. If I can get her to trust me, I can secure a pretty comfortable future."
Marcus chuckled, shaking his head. "You are always ambitious. But Anabel? She look smart. She won't be an easy prey. You really think you can pull this off?"
Sylvester's eyes narrowed. "I've already made some progress. Got my boy hired as the head of the computer department in her company. He's in a position to help me out from the inside."
Marcus looked impressed but skeptical. "That's a good start, but getting her to trust you enough to let you into her life? That's a whole different game, you know."
Sylvester shrugged. "I've got it under control. I invited her to dinner tomorrow and she agreed."
Marcus whistled. "Well, well. Look at you. But don't get too cocky. Women like Anabel don't just fall for anyone."
Sylvester's expression hardened. "Are you saying I can't do it?"
"I'm saying it's not going to be easy. She's got walls up, and for good reason. You might think you're smart, but she's no fool. If you slip up, she'll see right through you."
Marcus's words felt like a challenge, and Sylvester never backed down from a challenge. "Watch me, Marcus. I'll prove you wrong."
Marcus laughed, raising his cup of whiskey in a mocking toast. "Alright, Sylvester. I'll be watching. Just don't say I didn't warn you."
They spent the next hour catching up, reminiscing about old times, But Sylvester's mind kept drifting back to Anabel. He knew Marcus was right; this wasn't going to be easy. But he thrived on challenges, and the thought of proving Marcus wrong only fueled his determination.
When they were done, Marcus stood up to leave. "Good luck, Sylvester. You are going to need it."
Sylvester laughed and walked him to the door. "Thanks, Marcus. I will keep you posted."
After Marcus left, Sylvester sat back down, his mind racing with plans and strategies. He knew he had to be careful, to play his cards right. Anabel was no ordinary woman, and he couldn't afford to underestimate her.
The next day after work, Sylvester headed to Anabel's company. He was meticulously dressed in a tailored suit, exuding confidence with a charming smile.
