"I don't think it's necessary. If you are here to talk about love, then we have to call it a day." Anabel said.
"It's okay. But can we be friends? I will like to be a friend. We can get to work in the future. Like collaboration or something like that." Sylvester said, and Anabel stared at him. He looked rich and smart, qualified to have her personal number.
"I will give you my number, but don't disturb me. I'm a busy person." Anabel said and gave him her number. Sylvester smiled, he have taken a step to get Anabel. He knew he wouldn't fail.
Days passed and he began to send love messages. Anabel would read and ignore. She didn't want to give him any chance.
.
.
A week later, Anabel's father handed one of his companies to her.
"You will become the acting CEO. If you survive, you will have the company." It was an automobile company. An electric car that was working with an advanced driver's assistant system, just like Zacklid group. She was happy and ready to move it to another level.
.
.
Everything was going well until something strange happened. Anabel was going through some files in her office when the IT Director, Mr. Jenkins, stormed into her office without knocking. He was looking like a thundercloud about to unleash a torrent of bad news.
"What is happening? Why are you sweating?" Anabel asked, looking confused.
"We are in trouble," he announced.
"What trouble! Speak up!"
"The advanced driver's assistant system is malfunctioning." He declared with a voice tight with frustration. "I've tried every method under the sun to restore it, but nothing's working. I don't know if our system had been hacked."
Anabel's eyes widened. The advanced driver's assistant was the crown jewel of the company's autonomous vehicle system. If it failed, it would mean chaos on the roads and massive financial losses. How could that happen now that her father made her the acting CEO? She wasn't ready for any drama.
"How bad is the issue?" she asked, her mind already racing with possible solutions.
"All tests so far indicate a systemic problem. I can't penetrate the system," Mr. Jenkins replied grimly. "We can't pinpoint the exact cause, but the users are getting restless, and it's only a matter of time before it blows up in our faces."
Anabel leaned back in her chair, steepling her fingers. "Let's not panic. We'll find a solution. First, I want you to call in our top hackers. See if they can crack the code."
Mark nodded, pulling out his phone to make the calls. One by one, they reported in, but none could replicate the malfunction or suggest a fix. At this point, Anabel was getting frustrated. This is not what she signed for.
"We need to think outside the box here." Anabel said to Mr. Jenkins. "There has to be someone who can help us. Wait...my dad! He must know someone who will be capable of handling it.
But when Anabel tried to reach him, she was met with a voicemail. Banging her fist on the desk, she groaned in annoyance.
"This is not happening," she muttered. Just then, they began to get bad reviews. Users have started to complain.
"We can't afford to waste any more time. Mr. Jenkins. The users are already complaining. We need to fix this quick. Get me all employees working under you. I need their attention in the main conference room. I need a brainstorming session, pronto."
Mr. Jenkins hurried out to coordinate the gathering, leaving Anabel alone with her thoughts.
When Jenkins finally returned with a room full of his workers, Anabel stood before them and began to talk. "We're at a critical juncture, folks. The ADAS is our future, and we can't let it fail. I know we're all stressed, but I need you to put your thinking caps on and help me find a solution."
When she finished, they went back to her office. Twenty minutes later, her telephone rang and it was her personal assistant. "A man is here to see you. He said his name is Sylvester."
"Let him in." Anabel replied and dropped the phone. Mr. Sylvester walked into Anabel's office with a look of concern etched on his face.
"Hey, good morning." He greeted.
"Wow, Sylvester, you are here."
"Yeah, I came to see you. Though, I'm hearing noises. What is going on?" He asked, noticing the IT director, Mr. Jenkins, pacing back and forth in front of Anabel's desk.
Anabel sighed, rubbing her temples before she spoke up. "The advanced driver's assistant system is malfunctioning, and Mr. Jenkins here and his team can't seem to fix it. We have called some hackers, but none was able to fix it."
"What?" Sylvester's eyes widened in surprise. "That's a major problem. This shouldn't be happening. What is causing it?"
Mr. Jenkins stopped pacing and turned to face Sylvester. "We are not entirely sure. I came to work this morning and noticed that some things have stopped working. I think that someone hacked the system or something. I'm not entirely sure, though. I have tried rebooting the system, updating the software, and even replacing some of the hardware, but nothing seems to be working."
Sylvester nodded. "I can see. Well, I think I might know someone who can help. He's a genius when it comes to IT and artificial intelligence. I am sure he can handle it."
Anabel's eyes lit up with hope. "Really? Can you call him? We need to fix this thing right now before the trouble escalates."
"What are we friends for?" Sylvester smiled and pulled out his phone. "I will call him right now."
He dialed the number and waited for a moment before speaking. "Hey, Max. I need your help with something... Yeah, it's an advanced driver's assistant system... No, they can't seem to fix it... Okay, great. I'll send you the location... Thanks, Max. I owe you one."
Sylvester hung up and sent the address immediately, then turned to Anabel. "I've called him. He is on his way. His name is Max, and he is one of the best at something like this. Don't panic, he will fix it."
