Stacey said, and Daniella scoffed, crossing her arms. "Believe what you want, girl. But the truth is, Desmond is with me now. And there's nothing you or Anabel can do about it."
"This isn't about Desmond. It's about treating people with respect. Something you clearly know nothing about."
The salesgirl, who had been watching the hit-up exchange with wide eyes, finally spoke up. "I'm sorry, Miss Daniella, but Anabel did ask for the dress first. It's only fair that she have it."
Daniella glared at the salesgirl. "What are you saying? Get the cloth for me, or I will stop patronizing your store."
"I'm sorry, Miss Anabel. I will get it right away." Anabel and Stacey watched as the salesgirl pushed the mannequin out of the glass.
"How much is the dress, anyway?" Daniella asked.
"Three million dollars, ma'am." The salesgirl replied, and Daniella's eyes widened in shock. She wasn't expecting that. She was expecting to hear a hundred thousand dollars.
"Three million dollars? Are you serious?" She asked.
"Yes. This is Yumi Katsura White Gold Diamond Dress. It was designed recently, and there's only this one available. The gown features 1,000 white pearls, a 4-carat white gold diamond, and a 5.8-carat green diamond at the waist, bringing the total value of this dress to $3 million. The dress, made from luxurious silk satin, showcases intricate zari-embroidery handiwork. Katsura's lavish design and use of rare and precious materials make this dress a standout in haute couture. Its unique embellishments and design highlight Katsura's dedication to exclusivity and artistry in fashion." The salesgirl finished.
At this moment, Daniella's heart began to race, thinking of what to do. She clearly can't afford 3 million.
"What are you waiting for? You can't afford it?" Anabel asked.
"I'm sure her net worth is not up to that. How can she afford it?" Stacey laughed.
"I can afford it. It's nothing to me." She pulled out her credit card and handed it to the salesgirl. But deep down, she knew the amount on the card was not up to that. Desmond transferred two hundred thousand dollars to the card, which was also the card limit. She just wanted to get away with embarrassment.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but your card cannot do the transaction. The limit is two hundred thousand dollars.
"Just do it. It's a special card. I have millions of dollars in that card."
"If you insist." The salesgirl said and swiped the card. After a moment, she shook her head. "I'm sorry, Miss. Daniella. The transaction didn't go through."
"There must be some mistake. Try it again."
"Why are you stressing her? It's obvious you don't have that kind of money on that card. Stop acting up and give up." Stacey said.
The salesgirl tried again, but the result was the same. Daniella snatched the card back. "Your machine must be faulty."
"Our machine is good, ma'am. Let me try again." The salesgirl urged.
"You know what? I don't want it anyway. The diamonds might be fake." Daniella said.
Stacey couldn't help but laugh at Daniella's transparent excuse. "Nice try, Daniella. But we all know the real reason you can't buy the dress."
Daniella shot Stacey a withering glare. "I don't have your time. I have a lot of things to buy." She said and walked past Anabel, blushing her slightly.
"Poor girl is leaving. She can't afford a single gown." Stacey said, making sure Daniella heard her.
The salesgirl, who was now visibly flustered, turned to Anabel. "Since Daniella couldn't buy the dress, would you like to purchase it?"
Anabel shook her head. "No, thank you. I've changed my mind. I'm no longer interested. Your treatment towards me is unacceptable."
The salesgirl couldn't say anything. She knew she was at fault. Anabel and Stacey turned and made their way out of the store.
As they approached the exit, the anti-theft alarm suddenly blared, startling both ladies. They stopped in their tracks, confused. The salesgirl hurried over. "Excuse me. I will need to check your bags."
Anabel and Stacey exchanged bewildered glances. "What are you saying? We didn't take anything." Anabel defended
