Anabel smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "Thank you, Sylvester. I really appreciate it."
Twenty minutes later, a tall, lanky guy with a messy beard and a mop of curly hair walked into Anabel's office. He was dressed in a pair of ripped jeans and a faded t-shirt, and he looked like he had just rolled out of bed.
"Hey, sorry I'm late," he said, extending a hand to Anabel. "I'm Max."
Anabel shook his hand, trying not to stare at his disheveled appearance. He doesn't look like a professional. He looked like an indoor hacker who couldn't bag a job. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Max. Thank you for coming."
Max nodded and turned to Sylvester. "What is the problem?"
"Mr. Jenkins will tell you everything." Sylvester said, and Jenkins explained everything to him.
When Jenkins finished, Max nodded. "I think I can resolve it. Can you show me the system?"
Mr. Jenkins led Max to the server room, and Anabel followed, curious to see what Max would do.
For the next thirty minutes, Max worked his magic, tapping away at the keyboard and muttering to himself. Anabel watched as he worked, his fingers flying across the keyboard with a speed she had never seen before.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Max looked up and smiled. "I think I have fixed it."
Anabel's heart leapt with excitement. "Really?"
"Yeah, Mr. Jenkins can run a test on it. It's working perfectly now."
Mr. Jenkins nodded and led them to the testing room, where he demonstrated the advanced driver's assistant system. Anabel watched in amazement as the system worked flawlessly, its sensors and cameras detecting and responding to every command.
When he was done, Anabel turned to Max with a huge smile on her face. "Thank you so much, Max. You are a genius."
Max smiled back, looking pleased with himself. "It was nothing, really. Just a few tweaks here and there."
Sylvester clapped Max on the back. "You are the best, Max. You're a lifesaver."
Just then, the manager, Mr. Mike, arrived. "I heard there was a problem with the ADAS."
"It has been fixed." Anabel disclosed everything to him.
They left the testing room and went back to the office. They got to the office, and Anabel offered them seats.
"Mr. Max, I want to thank you again for fixing the advanced driver's assistant system. What is your charge?" Anabel asked but before Max could respond, Sylvester interrupted. "Anabel, I don't think you should pay him. He is clearly a talented individual, and you could benefit from having him on your team. This is a talent you will find very difficult to see. I think it will be nice if you keep him. What about making him the head of the IT department?"
"Head of IT Department?" Anabel asked. "No way, I don't think he's fit for it. He is good and talented, but being a director is a different thing." Anabel said.
"You want to let this talent go?" Sylvester asked.
"I'm thinking. Why was he unemployed?"
"Because no one believes in his talent. They thought he's a regular graduate. But you can see he's talented." Sylvester tried to convince her.
Anabel thought about it for a moment, weighing the pros and cons. It was true that Max had fixed the system with ease, and he had shown a level of expertise that was quite impressive. Making him the head of the IT department would give the company a much-needed boost.
She decided to hear the manager's suggestion. "Mr. Mike, what do you think about Sylvester's suggestion?" Anabel asked, turning to the older man.
"I don't think that's a good idea, Miss Anabel," He said "Jenkins have been with this company for over 10 years, and he have always been loyal to your dad. I don't think it's fair to replace him with someone who has only been here for a few hours just because he resolved an issue. You don't even know him very well. The IT department is not something you can just give to a stranger. I don't think it's a good decision."
"Don't say that." Sylvester spoke up. "He just saved the company. How could you think he will do something harmful to the company? I'm your boss's friend, and I'm in for the success of this company. My client will never let the company down. This company needs the best."
