Next step

Ch. 70 / 286 Apr 29, 2026

After meeting Anabel, he left the company with a satisfied smile. He have achieved what he wanted. It was all planned, and it worked perfectly.

Just yesterday, Sylvester was sitting at his desk, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the keyboard as he was reviewing the latest reports from Anabel's company. He had been meticulously gathering information, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

A knock on the door interrupted him. He glanced at the clock and then got up to open the door. He opened the door and It was Max, his trusted friend and skilled hacker.

"Evening, Sylvester," Max greeted and stepped inside. "You called."

Sylvester nodded and closed the door behind him. "Yeah, I have a job for you. It's a big one, and if we pull it off, it will set everything in motion."

Max raised an eyebrow with a smile. "I'm listening."

Sylvester led Max to the living room, where he had set up a makeshift command center. He pointed to the screen displaying detailed schematics and data from Anabel's company's advanced driver's assistant system.

"I need you to hack into this system," Sylvester said with a cold serious voice. "Create some issues that will disrupt their operations. Nothing too catastrophic, just enough to cause problems that they can't easily fix."

Max studied the screen, his eyes narrowing as he took in the information. "And what's the endgame here?"

Sylvester leaned back, a smug smile on his face. "Once the system starts having problems, I Will tell Anabel that I have someone who can resolve it. That's where you come in. You'll fix the problems you created, and I'll convince Anabel to make you the head of the computer department. From there, I will have access to most of the things I need."

Max chuckled, shaking his head in admiration. "You are always a master strategist. Alright, I'm in. Let's do this. Though it Will be hard to be hacked."

"Do all you can. I don't need any excuse. You are a hacker. Don't disappoint me.

They spent the next few hours planning the hack, going over every detail to ensure that nothing could be traced back to them. Max worked quickly and efficiently, his fingers flying over the keyboard as he infiltrated the company's systems.

"Done," Max finally said and leaned back with a satisfied grin. "The bots will be activated by tomorrow morning. They'll be scrambling to figure out what's going wrong."

Sylvester nodded, "Perfect. Now we wait for the chaos to unfold."

Sylvester was lying in his bedroom. Thinking about the Next step he was going to take. With his boy now firmly entrenched in the company, he knew it was time to take the next step.

That evening, as the sun began to set, Sylvester decided it was time. He picked up his phone and dialed Anabel's number. His heart raced as he listened to the ringing tone, but he quickly composed himself when she answered.

"Hello, Anabel," he said, his voice smooth and confident. "It's Sylvester. I hope I'm not calling at a bad time."

"Hi, Sylvester," Anabel replied, sounding pleasantly surprised. "No, not at all. What's up?"

"I was thinking," Sylvester began, choosing his words carefully, "with everything that's been going on at the company, you must be under a lot of stress. I wanted to do something nice for you, to help you relax a bit."

Anabel's curiosity was piqued. "Oh? What did you have in mind?"

"How about a dinner tomorrow?" Sylvester suggested. "There's this fantastic new restaurant that just opened downtown. I thought it would be a perfect place for us to unwind and enjoy some good food there. I have other things to tell you."

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line, and Sylvester held his breath, waiting for her response.

"That sounds lovely, Sylvester," Anabel finally said with her warm sweet voice. "I could definitely use a night out. Thank you for thinking of me."

Sylvester smiled, feeling a surge of triumph. "It's my pleasure, Anabel. I'll pick you up at 5pm at with?"

"No problem. I will be done by that time." Anabel replied.

"I'm looking forward to it."

As they ended the call, Sylvester leaned back in his chair, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. He knew this was just the beginning. With each step, he was getting closer to his goal. Now, he just had to play his cards right and ensure that Anabel fell for him completely.
