Adrian stood up quickly, he was going to look for her. He searched around and she'd left indeed. He dialed her cell phone but it was switched off. He sighed softly and decided he would talk to her by morning.
He sighted Patrick seeing Amanda off. He waited until the latter drove off and went to meet Patrick. He saw his face glow with excitement and he smirked.
“You've got yourself a new girlfriend eventually” Adrian stuttered, sounding sarcastic. He didn't expect that suddenly a woman had bonded with him and it's at grandfather's candle night.
“She's a friend. Not a girlfriend in the context of your thoughts” Patrick snapped at him. What's wrong if he's been accompanied by a woman?
“Whatever. It only surprises me that she sprouted out of nowhere to be by your side. And you obviously forgot that Jessica was here to keep you company at your grandfather's death…” Adrian was saying when Patrick interrupted him.
“Shut it Adrian!” Patrick bellowed, his gaze unfriendly at all. “What's my business with that woman, isn't she your friend, and she's here because of you and not me.
And I'm glad that Amanda was here. If she wasn't, I would have been the lonely quiet one without someone to hold hands with. Please Adrian, don't bring up her name when we're together again” he concluded.
Adrian massaged the bridge between his eyes as he chuckled. He suddenly resent Jessica? Some men are like that, get intimate with someone and soon resents that person.
“Jessica is a good woman. She's a lovable woman and if you get closer to her, you'll find her one of the most interesting persons to be acquainted with..” Adrian explained.
“Who asks you for this explanation? If she's so charismatic like you painted her to be, why didn't you stick to her, why were you still pursuing Aurora back then?
You should have chosen her and gone with her. Let her fill your life with a lot of interesting moments and memories” Patrick declared and hissed before walking past Adrian.
That woman that lashed at him with her tongue and even threatened him because of a mere night of pleasure? What more will she do, if he tolerates some kind of familiarity between them.
Adrian squinted. Patrick walked out on him in rage? Is he that mad with Jessica? Didn't she apologize to him like he'd asked her to?
What's wrong between these two adults?
In the morning, at X-city, Magda descended the stairs and joined the others at breakfast. After the incident of that day, she hadn't spoken to anyone else besides doing her things alone in the mansion.
Unknown to her, Simon, at Nancy's pleas, had investigated what was wrong with Magda. They found that her parents were suddenly missing and that's all.
If she hadn't said anything about them being kidnapped, then they probably relocated to another city to live.
But Magda's sudden change in attitude shouldn't lead to that. And it's definitely not related to pregnancy in any way.
“I want to announce to everyone that I have been chosen as the main lead in the movie, Blood and money. I got signed with the millennium entertainment industry yesterday…” Magda was announcing when Jimmy shut her up.
“Are you crazy Magda?” Jimmy bellowed. Got signed as an actress and already got a major role?
“You are out of your mind, Jimmy Blake, to think that you can yell at me that way. Are you nuts or have your genitals been eaten up by dogs?
Who the hell do you think you are,Jimmy. You should respect yourself and mind the way and manner you talk to me in this house!” She seethed.
What nonsense! Who the fuck does he think he is? Is he stupid?
Charlotte and Santiago exchanged glances and kept eating their breakfast. This is purely Jimmy and Magda's business. It doesn't concern any of them.
“Are you talking to me that way,Magda? You've really got guts these days. But I'm telling you here and now that you go back and resign because you are not allowed to act in that movie.
And not only that movie, you're not allowed to be an actress. And to know that you are pregnant and you could still conceive such an idea of…” Jimmy was saying when Magda interrupted him.
“When did you become this funny? You've always been stern and rigid, but I didn't realize you've got a talent for comedy in your veins. Anyways, I'm not in for some silly jokes” Magda smirked and hissed between gritted teeth.
“You think I'm a comedian now, right?” Jimmy demanded, his eyes spitting fire.
“Magda, I have been watching your attitude these past few days and I must confess that I don't know you at all. The Magda we used to know is far different from the one seated here now.
You won't be allowed to be an actress or participate in any movie as a daughter in-law of this family. Besides, aren't you pregnant?
What kind of a woman are you if you don't put your unborn baby first before pursuing a career that is capable of terminating the child's life?
As long as you remain pregnant, you can't act in a movie and if you want to remain as a member of this family, you can't be an actress. This is the final verdict on this matter” Simon Blake declared in a tone of finality.
Magda sneered and chuckled aloud, her audacity loud and screaming. She hit her fist on the dining table and chuckled loud and long.
“You can't stop me, father Simon Blake. And there's nothing you can do either, to send me out of this family”
Everyone turned and glared at the audacious Magda. She stood up and glared at Jimmy Blake and then at his father before storming off.
But before she could take two steps, Jimmy caught up with her and pulled her to turn around as her face got slashed by a resounding slap from Jimmy.
“Your audacity Magda!”
