Derick's POV
''Come on Derick, I heard you are back and came to Welcome you.'' He replied with a devilish smirk on his face
''Really.'' I scoff with a soft chuckle and gently stroked my bears
''If you really wanted to welcome me, then maybe you should have been here yesterday just like the others.'' I spoke up with a big frown on my face, which I knew he understood he wasn't welcome here.
Hearing those words from me, he chuckled loudly and shook his head
''You know me, I always do my things differently''he replied and fixed his grey eyes on me which angered my wolf.
Slowly I took in a deep breath to calm myself and my wolf before I spoke up
''Since you are here, I can't stop you from being my guest, what would you have.'' I asked
''Nothing, I'm fine.'' He replied quickly
''Very well then.'' I said those words and fixed my piercing gaze on him, while I noticed my wolf howling in anger to his wolf, while his wolf did the same.
''How is Emma, I heard she came back with you.'' He asked With an annoying smirk, the type he knew I hated
I stared at him with a death glare before speaking up.
''She has gone back to her pack.'' I replied,
''Oh, I see.'' He said those words and stood up while is two hands were in his jeans pockets
''So when are you making her your Luna.''
''I don't consider you as a friend to have such discussion with you.'' I spoke firmly.
Linus chuckled loudly and nods his head before taking few steps towards me, but my beta stood in front of me, blocking him from getting closer to me
''It's okay Anthony, he can't do more than a dead church rat.'' I said those words while we both met eyes.
Slowly Anthony moved away and Linus stood before me
''Don't think because of what you did a year ago I would be scared of you, I'm no longer a teen but an alpha,and a strong one at that,and one day I shall fight and humiliate you.'' He muttered those words as a threat, while the color of his eyes became darker.
Hearing those words from him, my wolf howled in anger and wanted me to shift to it form, but I held it back.
''What you heard I did,was just an atom of what I can do.'' I spoke in a low threatening tune while my anger increases the more.
Hearing those words from me, I felt his wolf howled angrily at me, why my wolf howled angrily at him in return.
We both gaze at each other's eyes with neither of us saying a word until Linus broke the gaze
''Goodbye alpha Derick until we meet again.'' He said those words, stared at my beta for a while before walking away.
''Bastard.'' My wolf howled in anger as I watch him leave
I knew why he was here, he was here to annoy me and see if I have really changed like they say.
A Male servant walked into the hall and slightly lowered his head
''What is it.'' My beta asked
''Greetings alpha, your father wishes to see you.''
'Tell him I will be with him shortly.''
''Alright Alpha.''the servant replied and walk away
Angrily I ran my fingers through my hair as I thought of Linus's words, when we were still teens he has never won me in a fight and I wondered what makes him think he can do that now, not when he heard about my incredible gift of strength.
With a soft groan, I stood up from the seat and walked towards the door, while the male servant quickly opened the door for Anthony and I to walk out.
I left the visitor's room and walked towards the sitting room, and occasionally I nod my head to the greetings of my subjects until I approached the sitting room.
Each step I took closer I could hear soft laughter coming from father, but another person was with him and I wondered who it was.
I walked into the sitting room and moved my gaze around, only to meet eyes with my childhood friend James Williams.
''Oh my God is this you.'' He spoke in disbelief with his eyes filled in amusement as he stood up from the couch
Quickly he walked up to me and held my two arms
''Man you look so mature and big.'' He chuckled softly and gave me a tight hug like he would always do when we were kids.
I felt confused by his actions, I thought he might have changed since we are all grow up but with this attitude, I realized nothing has changed in him.
Slowly I released myself from his embrace and flashed him a welcoming smile
''You look good James.'' I commended While I moved my gaze on him
''Come on, not as good as you, man you've really transformed, this alpha of a thing looks really good on you.'' He laughs jovially and roughly ruffles my hair like he would always do.
Groaning softly, I took a deep breath and wondered how I would explain to him and let him know that I'm not that Derick anymore.
''Heard you are staying here for a while.'',
''Yes, I'm on a one month vocation and I decided to spend it here with godfather and you, since it's been long I've been here.'' He replied happily
''I never knew a workaholic like you would agree to go on a one month vocation.'' I expressed those words as a tease, which made James laughed loudly and shook his head.
''Well, I'm here now, and we have a lot of things to discuss.'' He expressed those words in joy as he gently tapped my shoulders.
Groaning softly, I looked away, and wondered how I would explain to him that I'm not that ten years old kid he was best friends with.
''It's good to finally have you here.'' I said those words and tried to give him a welcoming smile
''Thank you, Derick.'' He replied.
In order to avoid his blabbering I decided to come up with an excuse to leave
''I have to be in my office Anthony, but I will see you later by the day
''Alright Derick, see you later.'' Hearing those words from him, I nodded my head and was about walking away when I perceived a familiar and fascinating scent which made me halted my step
''Mate.'' My wolf howled, excitedly.
