Derick's POV
I could hear cheers and laughter coming from afar, the moment father and I came out of his car
''Tell me a good reason why I should be here.'' I grumbled while closing the door of the car.
Seeing the frown on my face, dad chuckled softly and roughly ran his fingers through my already gelled hair.
''Dad.'' I grumbled and took his hand off my hair, he chuckled for a while before speaking up
''You know Alpha Gabriel is my very good friend…''
''Everyone knows that.'' I murmured
''Today is his daughter's birthday, she is turning sixteen today, and I think you guys should meet, who knows she might turn out to be your mate.'' Dad smiled widely at the thought of that.
''Come on dad.'' I rolled my Eyes annoyingly.
''Just because you guys are good friends doesn't mean your children are fated to be mates.'' I murmured.
''Who knows,'' he shrugged his shoulders and continued'' let's see what the moon goddess has installed for you both.'' He smiled and pulled me along with him.
We stepped into the living room and I noticed the big living room was filled with people, people of class and power, which made me wonder if this was really a sixteen years old birthday party.
Nonchalantly, I left dad side, and walked around the party, exchanging words with people I could recognize.
''Derick.'' I heard my name and noticed it was Elliot, the first child of alpha Gabriel who usually visit our home with his Father.
''You came. My sister would be so happy to finally meet you.'' He spoke happily.
I flashed him a quick smile but did not say a word.
''Come with me, let me introduce you to our guests.'' I nodded my head to his words and walked with him while he introduced me to his friends.
I was exchanging pleasantries with one of the guest Elliot introduced to me, when I noticed all eyes were fixed on the stairs. Curiously I looked towards the direction of the stairs and behold a beauty was walking down the stairs so majestically.
She was putting on a handless red lace dress which stopped on her knees, silver hill shoes and bag which matched the jewelries she was putting on.
Her long blonde hair fell on her shoulders, while the red lipstick on her lips were glittering.
Without being told I knew it was Emma, she was indeed a beauty, and I never knew she was this beautiful.
She stood in front of the guest and happily waved her hand at everyone before she met eyes with me, but Quickly she looked away.
She blew out the candles on her cake, cut it, and thanked everyone for coming.
One after each other, She went to each guest and thanked them for coming before she met me where I was standing in a corner alone and a glass of wine in my hand.
''Hey Derick.'' She greeted so formally like we've been friends.
''Hey, Emma ,right?.'' I asked, even though I was certain it was she.
''Yes, I'm Emma, nice to finally meet you Derick.'' She smiled and brought forth her hand for a handshake, which I took.
''You are just like how father described.'' She said those Words with a smile, which I returned.
''Give me a minute, I'll be right back.'' She smiled widely, revealing her beautiful gap teeth.
I smiled and watched her leave, while I took a good look at her and couldn't deny the fact that she has a perfect shaped body.
''Stop staring, she is mine.'' Without turning around, I knew it was Linus, my childhood competitor.
''And who told you she is yours.''
''my spirit tells me so.'' When I heard those Words from him, I couldn't help but chuckle loudly.
''Very well then, I hope when she turns eighteen her wolf recognizes you as her mate, seeing that you are already pass eighteen and has no mate yet.'' I mocked and walked out on him before he could say a word.
I walked around the room for a while before I noticed Emma walking my way
''Where I've you been, I've been searching all over the place for you.'' She murmured with a big frown on her face, which I find cute.
''I'm sorry, I was just around.'' I replied.
She rolled her eyes playfully at me before she brought forth her hand
''Have it.'' She handed a small bag to me, which I took
''What's this.'' I asked curiously.
''It's a gift, I made it myself.'' curiously I opened the bag and peeped through it, and saw a deodorant inside the bag.
''Dad told me you would be coming for my party, so I decided to make a gift for you, I hope you will like it.'' She said those words with a nervous smile on her Face.
''You made it yourself.'' I asked, while I took out the deodorant, opened it and inhale the scent.
''Yeah, I visited our factory last week and decided to make this for you and for some of my friends.''hearing those words from her, I smiled widely and placed a kiss on her both cheeks
''Thank you and I love the scent, it's alluring and fascinating.''
''I'm glad you like it, if it gets finished you can tell me, and I'll gladly make another one.'' I smiled at her words and inhale the scent before I Kept it back in the bag.
''I have to go say Hi to my other guests, thanks for coming.'' She smiled at me and walked away.
Slowly I opened my eyes and realized it was a dream, I blinked my eyes for a while before I sat on the bed and wondered why I dreamt of the first day I met Emma.
I tried communicating with my wolf, but I noticed he was quiet and refused to communicate with me.
I was still trying to communicate with him, but he whimpered and shut himself away from me.
''Who is it.'' I asked angrily when I heard a knock on my door.
''It's Victoria.'' She replied.
''Victoria.'' I murmured confused because I knew something was wrong.
''Come in.'' The door opened, and she came walking in with a bowl of water in her hands.
''Greetings Alpha.'' She greeted with her head lowered to the ground.
I fixed my gaze on her and wondered what was going on.
Firstly, I can no longer perceive that alluring and fascinating scent in her, and secondly, my wolf was silent like she was a stranger to him.
