"That's crazy! Why would you think I don't like you?" I exclaimed. Maybe I was too obvious with my attraction toward Jake. The last thing I wanted was to hurt Aaron by choosing Jake over him, and to be honest, I'd be dumb if I chose that jerkface!
Aaron shrugged. "I don't know. You seem more standoffish with me. Even though Jake bothers you so much, you still seem more comfortable with him than me," he said. He suddenly looked sad, and I felt bad. I didn't know Aaron felt that way. I didn't mean to look like I was too comfortable with Jake! If anything, Jake made me uncomfortable ninety percent of the time I was with him.
And so did his delicious abs and pecs...
FOCUS JANE!!
I shook my head as Jake's shirtless body came into my mind.
"Are you okay? Did I say something wrong?" Aaron asked.
I touched his arm immediately. "I am sorry for making you feel bad. I swear you don't make me feel uncomfortable at all! I really like hanging out with you."
Aaron smirked. "Oh really? How much do you like it?" he said dubiously.
I looked at him with confusion as I didn't understand what he was asking me. "What do you mean?"
Aaron leaned over. "I want to know how much you like hanging out with me, so prove it. Then I'll know that you mean it."
I shivered as his green eyes bored into mine, and I became even more aware of being alone with him. How does he expect me to prove it? "What do you mean, Aaron?" My voice trembled.
He chuckled. "Jeez, Jane. Don't look so scared of me."
"WELL, how can I not be scared when you make comments like these? The things you say sound so..." I stopped as I couldn't find the right word.
"Naughty?" he winked.
I blushed. I wish I was more experienced like other girls and flirted with him so seamlessly, but it was hard to get over my awkwardness. With his strikingly beautiful eyes and boyish grin, Aaron wasn't making it easy for me either. I was such a sucker!
"Look um...just be clear on what you want, Aaron," I said, working hard to sound like a confident queen.
"I want you to come over to me and sit on my lap," he declared.
What the...what?
"Um..." I giggled nervously. Was he teasing me again?
"You asked what I want, eh? I want you to sit on my lap and kiss me like you mean it," he said. "I promise I won't do anything bad to you. I'll keep my hands off and let you do all the work."
"B...but..." I stammered. It's not like I didn't want to kiss him. He was gorgeous, and his lips looked soft and tempting, but every time I was close to him I....it made my heart pound, and I felt like I'd have a heart attack.
Maybe I liked him more than I thought.
"I'm sorry, Jane. I must be out of line with my request because you look uncomfortable. You don't have to kiss me. I was only teasing you," he said, shaking his head.
Oh no! Did I reject him? I didn't do it on purpose!
"No, Aaron, I didn't mean to act like I don't want to," I said quickly.
"No, Jane, I really am sorry for pushing you. I promised you I wouldn't do it before and yet..."
I pressed my lips against his before he finished his sentence. Aaron didn't hesitate any more and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me to his lap, just like he wanted. My body was on fire.
This was wrong, wasn't it? Kissing both brothers and feeling like I wanted them both? Something must be terribly wrong with me!
But I didn't want to dwell on that as I was enjoying kissing Aaron.
His lips moved gracefully on top of mine and his hands roamed my back. This time, his lips felt more persistent than the first time I kissed him, more eager and determined.
"Mmm...Jane," Aaron mumbled against my lips as I slipped my tongue inside his mouth. He tasted like....
GROWL!
I gasped and backed off as my stomach made an awful growling noise. Dammit...
Aaron burst out laughing as he helped me stand up. "Was that your stomach?"
"I guess I was hungrier than I thought," I said, letting out a nervous laugh.
"Alright, let's eat then. I am starving myself, so I can't wait to try the Salmon you made," he announced, then walked toward the table.
I stood in place for a moment, trying to gather myself. What if we continued what we were doing? How far was I going to let Aaron go?
"You okay? I thought you were hungry?" Aaron called me.
"Sorry, I'm coming."
Shaking my head, I went to the table to continue our date.
