Bella
Ugh! What was he trying to do with me? For a while, he had brushed me off and called me pesky. Now, here he was, flirting and teasing me. Who's bothering who now?
Stupid Aaron.
If it had been in the past, I would've been happy to get his attention. But now, he is only trying to push my buttons. Was it because he was getting even with me? Or was he just jealous that my world doesn't revolve around him? Yup, that's it. He wants me to follow him around like a little puppy again. NOT HAPPENING!
If I'm totally honest with myself, I wanted Damien to notice me and ask me out. He makes me feel safe at school, and although he is a bit quiet, maybe we could have something special together.
Okay, I am lying. I am not over Aaron completely. Not even close. My heart still races when he is near me. I thought I was going to stop breathing and die when he touched me the other day at Jane's house. His warm hand caressing my skin was making me lose my mind. If I hadn't mustered the willpower to push him away, I would've given myself to him. Why do I feel so weak against him? I hate it.
I made plans with Damien so I could distract myself. I didn't want to think about him anymore. But then he showed up and ruined my plan. I tried to signal Damien a few times to discourage Aaron from coming to the movies with us, but he was as clueless as ever.
"Why did you invite Aaron to come with us?" I asked Damien.
Damien looked at me with surprise. "I thought you guys were friends?" he said.
"Aaron Morris is not my friend," I declared.
"Oh well...he seemed cool, so I thought it would be fun. Why do you look uncomfortable about this? I could tell him plans have changed if you really don't want to see him," Damien offered.
"No, it's okay. It's not like I hate him or anything. I'll be fine," I sighed.
"Are you sure?" Damien said. His eyes were full of worry.
"Yeah. It's just that...we have a bit of history, and I am trying to avoid him now," I said.
"I see. Is he your ex or something?" Damien was genuinely curious now.
"No, we never dated. It's a long story," I said.
"Well, I would like to hear it when you feel like it," he said and smiled.
I felt a lot more confident about seeing Aaron since Damien was going to be there. At least I won't be alone with him anymore. Not like the other day...
I remembered his gentle kiss on my lips again and felt a shiver. Stop thinking about it, Bella!
I just couldn't believe my ears when he recited my letter. Just how many times did he read it? And why did he read it if he claimed to hate receiving those letters so much? Aaron Morris is a confusing human being.
Later that evening, I got ready to go to the movies. I was feeling nervous about seeing Aaron again, so I changed my clothes three times. I need to stop being ridiculous, I thought to myself.
"You look great!" Damien said.
"Thank you, so do you," I said and offered him a smile.
We met Aaron at the movie theater parking lot, just as promised. I blushed when I saw him leaning against his car. He was wearing a plaid shirt with his sleeves rolled up, revealing his arm tattoos, paired with black jeans. His green eyes sparkled under the streetlights. He looked damn good. Because why wouldn't he? I rolled my eyes.
"Hey," he saw us and smiled.
Calm down, heart, I scolded it in my mind.
"Let's go in," Damien said.
"Yeah, let's," Aaron said and, placed his hand on my waist and started to lead me inside. His warmth spread through my body, and I blushed again.
"Um...Aaron," I said hesitantly.
"Yes?" he asked.
"You have your hand on my waist," I stated the obvious.
"That is correct. Does this make you uncomfortable?" he smirked. "Want me to remove it?"
I wanted to say yes, but that would've been a lie. I wanted to keep that hand there for the rest of the night.
What am I even thinking?
He removed his hands. I guess he assumed my silence was yes and didn't want me to be uncomfortable.
We took our seats. Of course, I had to be in the middle because both of them wanted to sit with me. That means I get to sit next to Aaron for the next hour and a half. God, help me.
Half an hour into the movie and I gasped as I felt a hand caressing my thigh and slowly trailing upward. What is this, the sexual harassment hour?
"Are you okay?" Damien whispered. "I heard you gasp."
"Just wonderful," I whispered with gritted teeth.
"I'm gonna get a refill on my soda, be right back," Damien said.
Nooooo don't leave me alone with this imbecile!
That's what I wanted to say.
"Okay," I said out loud.
He got up and left. I leaned over to Aaron. "What the fuck are you doing?" I said in a hoarse whisper.
"Touching you inappropriately," he said calmly like it was the most normal thing to do.
"But why?" I asked.
"Well, according to paragraph number nine, line 4 in your letter, you wanted me to touch you in the no-no zone while we are in a movie theater," he said and slipped his hand under my skirt again, but I slapped it out.
"Stop!" I whispered.
"But paragraph nine...."
"NO!" I said loudly by mistake.
"Shhhhhhh!" The lady behind me glared.
"Okay, sorry. Too soon?" he asked innocently.
"Keep your hands to yourself, you asshole," I snarled.
"Yes, Ma'am," he grinned.
I couldn't help but snicker quietly. How many times did he read that letter?
