Chapter 25: Stay Away

Ch. 25 / 89 Apr 03, 2026

"A party?" I looked at Aaron questioningly. "Whose party?"

"One of my old friends from high school. His sister is in your grade, so you might see people you know too," Aaron said.

"Oh, okay," I wasn't particularly excited. I never liked going to social gatherings. I always ended up standing against a wall and watch other people have fun. Not exactly my type of fun.

"Don't worry, it'll be fun," Aaron reassured me. Will it, though?

So I started to get ready for the said party. It was a Saturday night, and I had nothing to do anyway. I borrowed one of Liliana's dresses. Well, more like blackmailed her into giving it to me. I had no cute clothes. Usually, I didn't care how I looked, but things are different now. I didn't want to look like a bum next to a stud like Aaron. I've got a reputation to maintain.

I put on a red body-con dress. I lined my eyes with some eyeliners then lightly glossed my lips. I let my hair down and curled it into loose waves. I checked the mirror and admired myself a bit. Not bad for a plain Jane.

Aaron came to pick me up. He checked me out and smiled in approval. His eyes reflected lust which made me feel shy and flustered.

"Wow, you surprise me every time I see you," he smirked.

"I am bag full of shockers. So, who is your friend? I mean, who is throwing the party?" I asked.

"Ricky Elliot," he said.

Oh, I vaguely remember Ricky. He was in cahoots with Aaron throughout high school. I wondered if he quit his bad-boy ways like Aaron. I doubted it.

We arrived at the party shortly. I paused when I entered the living room when I spotted Jake sitting on the couch. A girl practically sat on his lap. It was none other than Miss Pink-haired vixen. I guess she had won after all. Sneaky biatch. I felt a little jealous.

"Oh great...Jake is here too," I remarked.

"He won't do anything to you. I'll make sure of it," Aaron said gruffly. Well, I sure hope so, I thought.

Mayra whispered something in Jake's ear, but he looked like he had zero interest in listening to her. But he wasn't exactly pushing her off of his lap either. He is such a slut.

But I wasn't surprised. Jake never had problems finding girls, and he never missed out on opportunities when they came knocking on his door.

Just as I was about to tell Aaron to go to a different room, Jake looked in my direction, and our eyes met. His eyes scanned my body from head to toe. He kept looking at me but didn't smile or say anything. But I acknowledged the look on his face. Lust.

I felt uncomfortable but turned on at the same time. No one ever looks at me like the way he looked at me. Not even Aaron.

"Um..can we go somewhere else?" I asked Aaron as Jake's lusty eyes were making me uncomfortable. I was blushing profusely, and I didn't want Jake to see it because that'd mean he had won.

"Yeah, let's go introduce you to Ricky," he said and took my hand and pulled me away. I was glad he didn't notice Jake staring at me.

Ricky eyed me for a moment and grinned. "Yeah, I remember you from high school. Your sister is pretty hot," he said.

"Yeah, I know," I rolled my eyes.

"I don't remember you looking this fine, though. You've blossomed," he smirked.

Ewe...who says stuff like this? Gross.

"Thanks. I guess," I replied.

Jake came into the room all of a sudden. "Oh, hey bro. Nice of you to take my girl out on a date," he said while looking at me. Jesus...this guy is bold. I expected Aaron to get mad, but he looked amused.

"She is not your girl. Keep dreaming, little brother," Aaron smirked.

Oh god, not this again. I always secretly wished boys would fight over me, but now that it was finally happening, I wanted to die. "I am going to the bathroom while you two sort this out," I sighed and left them behind.

As I was looking in the mirror and fixing my hair, someone burst in. It was Mayra. Ugh...what now?

"YOU! I thought I told you to stay away from Jake," she cried and pointed at me.

"In case you haven't noticed, I am here with Aaron, not Jake," I said irritably. Can't a girl relieve herself in peace around here?

"Then why did Jake push me away as soon as you entered the room?" she demanded to know. Her face was red, like she was having trouble breathing. She must be way more serious about Jake than I thought.

"Heck if I know? Why don't you go ask him?" I said. I felt a tinge of happiness despite everything. Did Jake push her away because of me? How sweet of him. But of course he shouldn't have let her sit on his lap in the first place.

"I am not playing games with you anymore, you little bitch. You will pay for getting in my way. BOYS! Get in here!" she cried.

Two guys came in and grabbed me.
