Jane POV
I thought it went well with Aaron. He likes me!
I should call Jake and ditch him right away.
I almost did, but my fingers shook as I tried to text him. Do I really want to choose now?
Ugh, Jane, what is wrong with you!?
"Why are you sitting around, pouting?"
I nearly jumped as I heard Liliana speak. I didn't even hear her come inside my room and stand behind me.
"Don't you knock?" I said irritably.
"Why do I need to? Are you watching porn in there?" Liliana winked at me.
"What the fu-...no! But it's the polite thing to do," I said.
"Whatever. I came here to talk to you about Aaron."
Oh here we go again.
"What about it?" I asked grimly. I was in a good mood, so the last thing I wanted was to fight with Liliana.
"Well, I just wanted to make sure you were being smart about everything. You know." Liliana said, a hint of concern in her voice.
"What do you mean? I am perfectly happy with him," I said.
"Are you?" Liliana looked at me skeptically. "Well, he's not really your type, is he? You're more into bad boys like Jake," Liliana said with a smirk.
I rolled my eyes. "Why do you assume that I only like bad boys?"
"I don't know. Even if you don't like badboys, the badboy likes you," she said.
"Ugh! Are you talking about Jake? I rejected him," I said.
"Well, I think you should give him a chance," Liliana said, sitting down on the edge of my bed.
"I am giving Aaron a chance, and that's it. I wish you would leave me alone, Liliana," I said curtly.
She sighed. "Alright. I won't ask you to leave Aaron again. Besides, I kind of met someone already."
I looked at her with surprise. "You did?"
"Yes. Why do you look so surprised?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I am not surprised! I just thought you wouldn't give up on Aaron easily," I said.
Liliana rolled her eyes. "As much as you think of me as your evil sister, I do care about you."
I laughed and gave her a hug. "I don't think you are evil, Liliana," I said.
"Good. By the way, Jake was asking about you today. He said he might drop by," she said.
My heart skipped a beat. "He did? Why would he want to drop by? I told him I don't care about him!" I exclaimed.
She shrugged. "I have no idea. Anyway, I gotta go. I have a date tonight," she said and left me alone with my thoughts again.
I sat there on my bed, contemplating Liliana's words. Her mentioning Jake made my heart race. I didn't want to think about him right now. I was happy with Aaron, wasn't I? But the thought of Jake coming to visit me made me feel something deep inside.
Should I really give Jake another chance? I mean, he was a total jerk, but something about him still drew me in. I shook my head and decided to focus on Aaron for now. He was sweet, caring, and seemed genuinely interested in me.
I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. I needed to figure out what I really wanted. But before I could even begin to think, there was a knock on the door.
I got up and went to answer it, my heart racing. It was Jake.
"Hey," he said, a slight smirk on his face.
"Hey," I said, trying to keep my cool.
"I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd drop by," he said, looking me up and down.
I felt a shiver run down my spine. There was something about Jake that always made me feel alive.
"Yeah, well, I'm kind of busy," I said.
He looked at me like he didn't believe a word I said. "You don't look too busy," he said and smirked.
"Well, I am! I have homework, so you should go home," I said and tried to slam the door in his face, but he put he grabbed the door.
His grin was broad and wicked. "Homework? I can help you with that," he said.
My heart was pounding in my chest as I tried to think of a way to get rid of Jake. I couldn't deny the way he made me feel.I felt myself getting flustered at the thought of Jake helping me with my homework. I tried to resist, but the pull towards him was too strong.
"Fine," I said, opening the door and letting him inside.
As he walked past me, I caught a whiff of his cologne and felt my knees weaken. Jake had a way of getting under my skin like no one else could.
"So, what do you need help with?" he asked, making himself comfortable on my bed.
I sat beside him, feeling nervous and excited at the same time. "Spanish," I said, handing him my textbook.
Jake laughed. "Lucky for you, I am very good at Spanish," he said, flipping through the pages.
"You are not," I said, rolling my eyes.
"I am. Prepared to be impressed," he said, smirking.
I couldn't help but smile at Jake's smugness.
I watched as he started to read through my textbook, his eyes scanning the pages intently. There was something different about him now. He seemed more focused, more driven. Hmm...I liked this studious side of him.
"You are staring," he said without looking up from the textbook.
"Am not!" I said defensive.
"Are too," he argued.
"Am not!" I repeated.
"Admit it, Janey. You are finding me super sexy right now," Jake chuckled.
"You are so full of it, Jake," I groaned.
"I bet you are going to wet your panties if I start speaking to you in Spanish right now," he declared.
"Eww! Don't be an idiot," I winced.
Jake put the book down and looked straight into my eyes. "Lo siento, mi amor," he said.
My heart skipped a beat. I was speechless. Jake had just apologized to me in Spanish.
"See, you totally just came in your pants just now," he said.
"Jake!" I cried and proceeded to hit him, but he caught my arm.
He pinned me down on the bed and kissed me. His lips were soft and gentle at first, but then they began to caress mine with more urgency. I felt my body responding to his kiss, and I slowly let myself melt into him.
