Chapter 62: Crushing on Her

Ch. 62 / 89 Apr 03, 2026

Aaron

"You will have to come out eventually," I laughed. I felt bad for teasing Bella so much, but it couldn't be helped.

"Nope. I live here now," she said.

"Stop being silly. Just come out, and I'll take you home," I said.

"I will come out if you don't say another word about the letter," she said.

"But we haven't even got to the good part yet..."

"AARON!" she warned.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I won't mention the letter, and I won't tease you. Okay?" I promised.

"You swear?" she said.

"I swear on Tabitha," I laughed.

She opened the door and glared at me. "I'll let you take me home only because I don't have a ride," she said. "But let's make one thing clear. I am not the same person I was when I wrote that letter. I am different now, and I don't like you like that anymore," she declared.

"Ouch...that hurts my heart, but we will see about that," I smirked.

"And that kiss meant nothing!" she said.

"Oof! You just keep stabbing me in my heart, dear," I grinned.

"I am serious!" she insisted. "Now, get out of the room so I can change."

"Fine. I'll be in the living room," I said and left. She is crazy if she thinks I believe her for one second. The way she kissed me back was more than enough proof that she still loved me. I'll just have to get it out of her again.

The ride home was awkward, to say the least. She barely looked at me or talked to me.

"You have to give it back to me," she said once we arrived at her house.

"Give what back?" I asked.

"The letter! You clearly still have it if you remember it so well," she said and crossed her arms.

"Never! I am keeping it forever," I decided.

"What...why? You don't want it!" she exclaimed.

"Who said that? I don't want it. I NEED it. I am going keep it under my pillow so I can have wet dreams about us," I said casually.

"Ugh!" she cried and proceeded to get out of the car, but I grabbed her arm.

"Wait..."

"What?" she snapped.

"You forgot this," I said and smashed my mouth on hers and kissed her hard. She pushed me away immediately and smacked me in the face.

"OUCH! That hurt," I winced.

Bella was taken aback by my reaction. "I...I am sorry, Aaron, I didn't mean to strike you so hard," she said and grazed my cheek.

"SIKE!" I said and proceeded to kiss her again, but she got out of the car before that.

"YOU SUCK!" she screamed and ran off.

I drove off laughing. This is only the beginning.

It wasn't like I enjoyed teasing her. Okay, I am lying. I loved teasing her. But that wasn't the only reason. I wanted payback for being stalked by her for all those years. And as payback, I am going to make her mine. Damien can kiss my ass.

The next day, I looked around campus for her. I finally found her sitting on an empty table. But just as I was going to call her name, I saw Damien walking up and striking up a conversation. That bastard!

"What are you doing?"

I was startled to hear a voice come out of nowhere. "Oh, hey, Macie," I said. Macie was standing in front of me with Zack. "I am not doing anything."

"It looks to me like you are staring at your beloved stalker girl," she smirked.

"She is not a stalker girl anymore," I said irritably.

"I see. You don't seem relieved. I knew this from the start. You've always liked her," she said.

"That's not true," I protested.

"Oh, please. Even when we were together, you would always mention her," she said and narrowed her eyes.

"I was just complaining about her to you," I said.

"Then that crazy letter you refused to throw away?" she said.

"I didn't want to be rude," I said.

"You won't even let me read it. That kind of hurt me, Aaron. It was like you were indirectly cheating on me," Macie said.

"What? That's ridiculous!" I exclaimed.

"Is it, though? What do you think, Zack?" Macie looked at him and asked.

"Sounds to me, you were cheating on my gal with your hidden feelings, bro," Zack said.

"Shut it, Zachery. You don't know anything about me," I said heatedly.

"Come on, Aaron. Just think about it," Macie grinned and left.

I thought about it. Maybe she was right. Perhaps deep down, I kind of liked her and basked in her attention. I never firmly refused her and even saved all of her silly little love notes. It wasn't like me to be that sentimental about anything, but I was different when it came to her. Jake even teased me about being sweet on her in high school.

But it doesn't matter how I felt in the past. What matters is how I feel now. And I feel...extremely jealous. I thought as I saw Damien reaching out and touching her hair. Oh, hell no.

I stomped toward their table, practically knocking out an unsuspecting student on the way.

"Hey!" the kid cried.

"Excuse me," I said and kept walking. I have no time. I need to get Damien away from her.

"Bella," I said and stood in front of them. Bella looked at me with surprise. Damien gave me a friendly smile.

"Hey. Aaron, right?" he said.

"Yeap. What are you guys up to?" I asked, trying to keep my composure.

"Bella and I were just talking about going to the movies after this. You want to join us?" he asked.

"What...no! Aaron is busy. Right, Aaron?" Bella said quickly.

I smiled wide. This was easier than I thought. "I am free as a bird. Let's do this," I announced.

"Great! Let's meet here at 7 PM," Damien said.

"But..." Bella started to protest again.

"I will see you guys at 7," I said and walked away before she said no.
