The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 732

Ch. 722 / 790 May 05, 2026

The room was thick with tension, the air almost suffocating as Kael sat by Bella’s side. Her body still trembled from the aftereffects of the charm, her skin pale and glistening with sweat. The magic had stabilized her for the moment, but there was no denying the price they had paid. Bella’s breath came in shallow gasps, her hands twitching by her sides as if trying to control the energy coursing through her.

Kael’s fingers gently brushed her cheek, his eyes filled with concern. His heart raced as he watched her struggle with the unfamiliar sensations overtaking her body. He had promised her that he wouldn’t let anything happen to her, but right now, he wasn’t sure how to keep that promise. There were so many unknowns—so many dangers still ahead—and yet, all he could do was hold her and offer whatever comfort he could.

“Bella,” Kael whispered, his voice low and soothing. “Stay with me. You’re going to be okay. The charm… it’s working. It’s just… temporary, but it’s enough for now. We’ll figure this out.”

Bella’s eyes flickered open, her pupils dilated in a haze of confusion and fear. She tried to focus on him, but the energy in her veins made it hard to concentrate. She clenched her fists, feeling the power inside of her churn with a life of its own. It was as though the charm had opened a floodgate, and now everything was spilling out uncontrollably.

“Kael,” she said, her voice shaky, barely above a whisper. “I… I can feel it. It’s like my body is on fire. I can’t control it.” Her breath quickened, and her eyes widened in panic. “I’m scared. What if I… I hurt someone?”

Kael’s heart ached at the fear in her voice. He squeezed her hand gently, trying to anchor her to him. “You’re not going to hurt anyone, Bella. You’re not alone in this. I’m right here with you.”

But the words didn’t seem to ease her. She pulled away slightly, her eyes darting around as if searching for an escape from the energy surging inside her. The charm had given her temporary relief, but it had come at a cost—her hybrid powers were now erratic, unpredictable, and growing harder to manage with each passing second. Every breath she took felt like it might be the one that sent her into a full-on outburst.

The room was quiet except for the sound of Bella’s breathing and the occasional flicker of magic pulsing from her body. Kael could feel it, too—the vibrations in the air, the weight of power pressing down on them both. She was trying so hard to keep herself together, but Kael could see the cracks forming. The fear in her eyes only made him more desperate to find a solution.

“Bella,” Misery said, her voice cutting through the tension in the room. She had been watching quietly from the corner, her face unreadable. “The charm is only a temporary fix. It’s stabilizing you for now, but the magic inside you won’t be tamed so easily. Your hybrid powers are too strong, and if we don’t find a way to balance them, it’ll destroy you.”

Bella’s gaze snapped to Misery, her expression full of anxiety. “Destroy me?” Her voice wavered. “But… I can’t lose control. Not again.”

Kael looked between Bella and Misery, his mind racing. “What does that mean? What exactly is happening to her?” he asked, his voice tinged with frustration. “I don’t care if it’s temporary. She needs this fix, whatever it takes.”

Misery stepped closer, her eyes softening as she looked at Bella. “I know you want to protect her, Kael. But you have to understand—this isn’t just about control. The magic inside her is like a wildfire. Once it’s been unleashed, it doesn’t simply go back to being dormant. If we don’t find a way to channel it properly, it will tear her apart from the inside out.”

Bella closed her eyes, a pained expression crossing her face. “I don’t know if I can keep going like this, Kael,” she confessed, her voice barely audible. “Every time I try to hold it back, it gets worse. I feel like I’m losing myself. I don’t even recognize who I am anymore.” She shook her head, a tear slipping down her cheek. “I’m scared.”

Kael’s heart broke for her. His hands trembled as he reached for her, cupping her face gently. “You’re not losing yourself, Bella. You’re not alone. We’ll figure this out, I swear. Whatever it takes, I’ll be with you every step of the way. You don’t have to do this on your own.”

But Bella’s eyes filled with doubt. “But what if I don’t survive this, Kael? What if I can’t control it anymore, and I destroy everything we’ve built? What if… what if the magic consumes me?” Her voice cracked on the last word, and she looked away, unable to meet his gaze.

Kael swallowed hard, his throat tight with emotion. He couldn’t bear to hear her talk like this, but he knew deep down that her fears were valid. The magic inside her was more powerful than either of them had , and even the charm they’d used couldn’t contain it forever. Still, he refused to believe that she wouldn’t survive this. He wouldn’t accept that fate.
