The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 733

Ch. 723 / 790 May 05, 2026

The tension in the room was unbearable as Kael paced back and forth, his frustration mounting with each passing minute. His mind was a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts, the weight of responsibility pressing down on him from every direction. As Alpha, he had always been the one others relied on, the one who kept the pack safe, the one who made the tough decisions. But now, with Bella’s life hanging by a thread, he felt powerless, and that was a feeling he couldn’t stand.

His eyes flickered to Bella, who lay in the bed, her face pale and drawn. She was doing her best to stay strong, but even he could see the toll the pregnancy and the hybrid magic were taking on her. The energy that had once been so wild and powerful in her seemed to be draining, the light in her eyes flickering like a flame that was slowly being snuffed out.

“Why isn’t there anything we can do?” Kael muttered, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He had tried everything he could think of, every healer, every remedy—nothing seemed to be enough to save her. He was the Alpha, the leader of the pack, and yet, in this moment, he felt utterly powerless.

Misery watched him from the doorway, her expression grim but unreadable. She had seen Kael in many moods—strong, confident, commanding—but this… this was different. His anger, his frustration, was eating away at him, and she knew it wasn’t just because of Bella’s condition. It was because of his own helplessness. He couldn’t fix this, and it was driving him mad.

“Kael,” Misery said softly, stepping into the room, her voice cutting through the silence. “You’re not alone in this. We’re all doing everything we can.”

Kael spun around to face her, his eyes dark with frustration. “Everything we can isn’t enough, Misery! I’m failing her. I’m supposed to protect her, to keep her safe, but I can’t even do that. She’s slipping away from me, and I don’t know how to stop it.”

Misery’s gaze softened, and she crossed the room to stand beside him. She placed a hand on his shoulder, her touch surprisingly gentle. “You’re not failing her. You’re doing everything you can. But sometimes, there are things that even you can’t control.”

Kael shook his head, his jaw clenched in frustration. “I don’t care if I can’t control everything. I just want her to be okay. I can’t lose her. Not again.”

Bella, who had been quietly watching them from the bed, finally spoke, her voice weak but steady. “Kael…” She reached out a trembling hand toward him, her eyes filled with a mixture of love and concern. “I’m not going anywhere. I’m here. I’m still here with you.”

Kael walked over to her, kneeling beside the bed and taking her hand in his. His eyes softened, and he pressed a kiss to her forehead, his touch gentle. “I don’t know what I’d do without you, Bella. I’m not ready to lose you. I won’t be.”

Bella smiled faintly, though the exhaustion was clear on her face. “You’re not going to lose me,” she whispered. “We’ll get through this together.”

But Kael could feel the weight of her words, the quiet resignation behind them. He didn’t want to admit it, but he could see the toll this was taking on her. Her strength, her resilience—they were slipping away, and he couldn’t stop it.

“Maybe we need to try something different,” Misery suggested, her voice cutting through the silence. “There’s another option, but it’s risky.”

Kael’s eyes snapped to her. “What option? What are you talking about?”

Misery hesitated for a moment before she spoke. “There’s an ancient medallion—a relic that can tap into Bella’s dormant powers. It’s not without its dangers, but it might be the only way to stabilize her condition. The medallion could help her tap into the power she has inside her, the power she doesn’t even know she’s capable of.”

Kael’s brow furrowed. “And you think this will work? You’re sure?”

Misery nodded slowly. “It’s the only thing I can think of that could give us a chance. But Bella has to be willing to take the risk.”

Kael turned to Bella, his gaze filled with both hope and fear. “Bella… If this could help, if this could save our baby, would you be willing to try it?”

Bella hesitated, her gaze flickering to the medallion resting on the table beside her. She had heard the rumors about its power, about the price that sometimes had to be paid. She didn’t want to risk more, but if this was the only way to save their child, she couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.

“I don’t know,” she whispered, her voice thick with uncertainty. “What if it makes things worse? What if it takes everything from me?”

Kael’s heart clenched at the fear in her voice, but he knew that if they didn’t act soon, they might lose everything. “Bella, you’re the strongest person I know. If anyone can handle this, it’s you. And I’ll be right here with you, no matter what happens.”

Bella looked at him, her eyes filled with love but also fear. She reached for the medallion, her fingers brushing against the cool surface of the metal. The moment she touched it, she felt a surge of energy course through her, and she flinched, startled by the power that seemed to pulse from the medallion.

“If this can save my baby…” Bella murmured, her voice barely audible. “If this can save my baby, I’ll do it.”
