The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 756

Ch. 746 / 790 May 05, 2026

The sun was beginning to set, casting a soft, golden glow over the packhouse as Bella cradled her daughter in her arms. Rosalie, her baby girl, was so small, so fragile, yet she radiated a warmth that filled Bella’s heart with love. Bella traced the tiny fingers curled against her chest, marveling at how delicate they felt. Rosalie’s bright eyes—wide, curious, and full of innocence—met Bella’s gaze, and for a moment, the entire world seemed to fade away.

“Look at her,” Bella whispered, her voice thick with emotion. “She’s perfect.”

Kael stood beside her, his arm wrapped around her waist, his eyes filled with the same awe. He gently kissed the top of Rosalie’s head, a rare moment of softness in his usually stoic demeanor. His protective instincts were evident in every move, every glance he cast toward their daughter.

“She’s ours,” Kael murmured, his voice rough with emotion. “Our family.”

Bella’s heart swelled at the words. This moment, this simple, beautiful moment, was everything they had fought for. Through all the pain, the battles, the uncertainty—they had made it. And now they had their daughter, the heir to the Alpha, the future of their pack.

“Rosalie,” Bella whispered, her voice barely audible, as she gazed down at the tiny being in her arms. “That’s the name I dreamed of. She’s meant to be Rosalie.”

Kael’s eyes softened at the mention of the name. He had known that Bella’s dreams during her pregnancy had been filled with visions of their daughter, but hearing the name spoken aloud gave it a sense of finality, as if it had always been her name. “Rosalie it is,” he agreed, his voice low and filled with reverence. “A perfect name for our perfect girl.”

Misery and Lira entered the room shortly after, their faces lighting up with smiles as they saw the little bundle in Bella’s arms. Misery, ever the cynic, couldn’t help but soften when he saw the baby. His eyes gleamed with something akin to affection as he reached out to touch Rosalie’s tiny hand.

“Hard to believe you two managed to make something so perfect,” Misery teased, though his voice held a warmth that didn’t go unnoticed.

Lira, standing behind him, leaned in to get a better look at the baby. “She’s beautiful,” Lira said, her voice full of wonder. “You’ve created something amazing, Bella. She’ll be a force to reckon with when she’s older, that’s for sure.”

Bella smiled, the warmth of her friends’ words wrapping around her like a comforting blanket. She didn’t need to hear anyone else’s approval, but it still felt good to know that the pack was excited for the future of the Alpha’s heir.

“Thank you,” Bella replied, her gaze never leaving Rosalie’s tiny face. “She’s everything we hoped for. Our family.”

The pack gathered, celebrating their return, the joy of the moment infectious. The air was thick with laughter, music, and the scent of food, as the pack rejoiced in their Alpha’s return, in the safe arrival of their future leader. Bella’s heart swelled as she looked around at the people who had supported her and Kael through every trial, every dark moment. They were all here now, sharing in this joy.

Kael stood protectively by Bella’s side, his arm around her waist as she held Rosalie close. He couldn’t help but beam with pride as he watched their friends and pack members fawn over their daughter. He hadn’t seen Bella this happy in months, and seeing her smile like this, seeing their family whole for the first time, made every sacrifice worth it.

The celebration continued well into the evening, with laughter echoing through the halls of the packhouse. But eventually, the night began to wind down, and the pack slowly returned to their quarters, leaving Kael, Bella, and Rosalie alone in the quiet of the room.

Bella’s eyes grew tired, but she couldn’t bear to part with Rosalie. She gently rocked the baby in her arms, humming softly, her mind still reeling from the events of the day. Rosalie’s tiny breaths were a calming rhythm in Bella’s ear, the sweetest sound she had ever heard.

Kael watched her from the doorframe, his heart full as he observed the bond between mother and child. The glow of love in Bella’s eyes as she gazed down at Rosalie was enough to fill him with a sense of peace he hadn’t known in years. But despite the joy of the moment, a gnawing unease lingered at the back of his mind, a shadow he couldn’t shake. Esmera’s threat still hung over them, and though they had won this battle, Kael knew the war was far from over.

“I’ll stay with you,” Kael said quietly, moving toward Bella. He sat beside her on the bed, his large hand gently cupping Rosalie’s tiny head. “We’re a family now. I won’t leave your side.”

Bella smiled up at him, her heart full. “Thank you,” she whispered, kissing him softly on the lips. “I couldn’t do this without you.”

The weight of everything they had endured seemed to lift in that moment, as if the world had finally aligned. The future, though uncertain, seemed full of possibility.

But as Bella carefully laid Rosalie in the crib beside their bed, her heart clenched. She couldn’t help but stare at her daughter, the beautiful little girl who had already captured her heart in ways she couldn’t fully express. But something was wrong.

As she watched Rosalie sleep, Bella noticed a faint hitch in her daughter’s breathing. It was subtle at first, but it grew more noticeable as the minutes passed. The baby’s tiny chest rose and fell unevenly, the breaths coming in shallow, labored gasps.

A chill ran down Bella’s spine as she reached out to touch Rosalie’s forehead. She was warm, but not in the way a baby should be. Panic began to set in as Bella’s hands trembled.

“Kael,” Bella whispered, her voice tight with fear. “Something’s wrong.”

Kael, who had been watching with a tender expression, immediately looked at Bella, his gaze hardening with concern. He moved quickly to her side, his eyes scanning their daughter’s tiny form. The joy of the day seemed to fade away as he noticed the same unsettling pattern in Rosalie’s breathing.

“Rosalie,” Bella murmured, her voice breaking as she tried to comfort the baby. But Rosalie’s breathing remained faint, weak, as though she was struggling to take in air.
