The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 722

Ch. 712 / 790 May 05, 2026

The days following Bella’s return to herself were a blur of emotions, both intense and soothing. Bella’s memories had come flooding back, each fragment piecing together a story that was both painful and beautiful. She remembered her time with Kael—the love they had shared, the warmth of his embrace, the way he had always been there for her, even when she hadn’t known how to feel. Now, standing before him, she could finally acknowledge the depth of that connection.

It was late in the evening when they found themselves alone in their quarters. The flickering light of the fire cast soft shadows across the room, and the air between them was thick with unspoken words. Kael sat across from Bella, watching her closely, but he didn’t push. He knew that the journey she had been through was long, and even though she had regained her memories, there were still pieces of her heart that needed time to heal.

Bella sat on the edge of the bed, her fingers lightly tracing the fabric of the sheets, her gaze far away, as if lost in thought. Kael could sense her unease, but he waited, understanding that she needed to find her way back to him on her own terms.

“I never realized how much I had locked away,” Bella murmured after a long silence. Her voice was soft, almost fragile, but there was a strength in it that hadn’t been there before. “The things I saw… what Esmera and the guards did to me… they still haunt me. The memories come in flashes, like shadows chasing me.”

Kael’s heart clenched at the admission. He had known the darkness she had endured, but hearing her speak of it still sent a shiver down his spine. He hated that she had gone through so much pain. Yet, in the same breath, he was proud of her for facing it. She was stronger than she gave herself credit for.

He stood up and walked over to her, sitting beside her on the bed. His hand found hers, and he gently squeezed it, a silent promise that he would never let go, no matter what.

“You don’t have to carry that burden alone,” Kael said softly. “I’m here, Bella. I’ve always been here. And I’ll be here every step of the way as you work through the darkness.”

Bella turned her head to look at him, her eyes searching his face for something—perhaps reassurance, or maybe a sign that he truly meant it. She found it in the intensity of his gaze, the unwavering love that radiated from him. There was no doubt in her mind now that Kael had always loved her, no matter the distance, no matter the obstacles that had stood between them.

“I know,” she whispered, her voice barely audible. “But sometimes, I feel like I’m not the same person anymore. Like the pieces of me are shattered and I’m trying to put them back together.”

Kael placed his hand on her cheek, gently turning her face toward him. His thumb brushed over her skin, a tender gesture that made her heart race.

“You are still you, Bella. You’re just… you’ve been through things that no one should have to experience. But you’re still the same woman I fell in love with,” he said, his voice steady, full of conviction. “And I’m not going anywhere. You don’t have to be perfect to be loved.”

Tears welled up in Bella’s eyes, and she blinked them away, trying to maintain control. Her emotions felt like a storm inside her, swirling and crashing, but Kael’s presence anchored her. It was as if the world had faded away, leaving only the two of them, together, in this moment.

“I don’t know what I’d do without you,” Bella whispered, her voice thick with emotion. Her words hung in the air, vulnerable and raw. She felt exposed in a way she hadn’t before, but with Kael, it felt right.

Kael’s heart swelled at her words. His hand slid down her arm, pulling her gently toward him. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, his breath warm against her ear.

“You’ll never have to find out,” Kael replied, his voice filled with warmth and certainty. “I’m not going anywhere, Bella. You and me, we’re in this together. Always.”

Bella melted into his embrace, her body relaxing against his, feeling the safety of his arms around her. She had been so lost for so long, so unsure of where she belonged, but now, in Kael’s arms, she finally felt like she was home. The pieces of her heart that had been fractured by the past were slowly stitching themselves back together, and with Kael by her side, she knew she would heal.

Their bond was undeniable, and no matter how many challenges they faced, she was certain of one thing: Kael was her strength. He had been her protector, her lover, and now, he was her anchor in the storm.

As the night stretched on, they stayed wrapped in each other’s arms, neither of them saying much more. They didn’t need to. The silence between them was comfortable, filled with everything they had already shared. Their connection was all that mattered now.

Bella let out a soft sigh, content and at peace for the first time in so long. She didn’t know what the future held, but with Kael beside her, she was ready to face whatever came next. No more doubts, no more fear. She was finally able to embrace the love they shared, and that was all that mattered.
