The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 753

Ch. 743 / 790 May 05, 2026

The walls of the fortress trembled beneath their feet as Kael and Bella made their way toward the exit. Every step they took seemed to shake the very foundation of the place, and Bella’s heart raced in her chest. Their baby was safe in her arms, but the fear of what was still to come clawed at her insides. Esmera’s last words echoed in her mind like a curse.

“We can’t let our guard down,” Kael said quietly, his voice filled with urgency. He kept his eyes on the path ahead, his body tense, ready for anything. “Stay close, Bella.”

“I will,” Bella whispered, nodding. She pressed the baby closer to her chest, feeling the warmth of their child against her skin. As long as they had this moment—this victory—nothing else mattered. They were together, and they had survived.

But just as they reached the gates, the earth beneath them shook violently. A low, rumbling growl filled the air, echoing from deep within the fortress. Kael spun around, eyes narrowing in fury as he gripped the hilt of his sword. He knew what was coming.

“Esmera,” he growled, his voice low and dangerous.

And then she appeared—her silhouette emerging from the shadows like a dark cloud, swirling with magic and malice. Her eyes glowed with hatred, and her lips twisted into a cruel smile.

“You thought you could escape me that easily?” Esmera sneered, raising her arms. “You should have known better, Bella. You can never outrun what I’ve set in motion.”

Before Kael or Bella could react, Esmera’s hands shot out, and the ground beneath them cracked open. A wave of dark magic burst forth, and with it came the rogue wolves, their eyes wild and glowing with the same dark energy Esmera had used to control them. They surrounded Kael and Bella, snarling and growling, their fangs bared.

Kael immediately stepped in front of Bella, drawing his sword and preparing for the fight. “Get behind me,” he ordered, his voice sharp with authority.

But Bella wasn’t about to hide. She stood tall, her own powers crackling in the air around her. Her hybrid strength surged to the surface, and she let out a fierce roar that made the ground tremble beneath her. The rogue wolves hesitated for a fraction of a second, and that was all she needed.

With a single swipe of her hand, she sent a burst of energy toward the closest rogue, knocking it back with enough force to send it crashing into the wall. The rest of the wolves advanced, but Bella was relentless, her powers flowing like a river that couldn’t be stopped. She fought with everything she had, refusing to let go of the baby or allow these creatures to harm her family.

Kael fought by her side, his sword slicing through the air with deadly precision. He was a blur of motion, cutting down wolves as they charged at him from every direction. His eyes were locked on Bella, watching her as she fought with a fierce intensity that made his heart swell with pride. She was unstoppable, even in the face of danger.

But Esmera wasn’t finished yet. With a cruel laugh, she stepped forward, her hands glowing with dark magic. “You think you’ve won?” she taunted, her voice laced with venom. “I’m just getting started.”

She waved her hand, and the ground beneath them cracked again, sending a shockwave through the air. The entire fortress seemed to groan, as if it were alive, struggling under the weight of Esmera’s unstable magic.

Bella stumbled, her powers flickering in and out of control. She tried to steady herself, but her body was starting to give way under the strain. The baby in her arms squirmed, and she winced, clutching the child closer.

“We have to go,” Kael urged, grabbing her arm to pull her toward the exit. “Now, Bella!”

But Esmera was relentless. With a flick of her wrist, she sent a blast of dark magic straight toward them. Kael raised his arm to block the attack, but it was too strong, too sudden. The force of the magic sent him crashing into the wall, and Bella was thrown to the ground, her body slamming against the cold stone floor.

“Kael!” Bella cried out, her voice full of panic as she tried to push herself up. But her body was exhausted—she could feel the weight of the fight catching up with her, the strain of the battle pulling her down.

Kael pushed himself to his feet, pain shooting through his body. “Bella!” he shouted, his voice frantic as he ran to her side. He reached her just as she collapsed, her body shaking with exhaustion. The baby was still in her arms, held close, but her strength was fading fast.

“No…” Kael whispered, his voice breaking. He knelt beside her, pulling her into his arms. “Bella, no… please don’t do this. We’re almost there. We’re almost free.”

Bella’s eyes fluttered open, but the light in them was dimming. She looked up at Kael, her lips trembling as she weakly clutched the baby to her chest. “Kael… I…” Her words faltered, her strength slipping away with each passing second.

“No, don’t say that,” Kael pleaded, his heart pounding in his chest. He could feel her slipping through his fingers, and it was a feeling he couldn’t bear. He couldn’t lose her now—not when they were so close.

But Bella’s breath was shallow, and her grip on the baby weakened. “I’ve done all I can… I just wanted… to keep her safe…” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Kael’s eyes filled with terror. “Bella, please… don’t leave me. Don’t leave us.” His arms tightened around her, but it was as if her body was growing colder with each passing moment.

The fortress around them groaned again, and it was clear that time was running out. Esmera’s magic had destabilized the entire structure, and they were all caught in the collapse.

“Kael…” Bella whispered, her gaze locking with his one final time. “Take care of her…”
