The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 721

Ch. 711 / 790 May 05, 2026

Avalon stood at the threshold, her back straight as she prepared to leave. The quiet of the room was overwhelming after the intensity of the moments leading up to this. Kael stood by Bella, his presence a comforting weight, though his heart was heavy with the weight of the goodbyes.

Avalon had been a constant in their lives for so long, and while her feelings had complicated things, there was no denying that her wisdom and help had been invaluable. And yet, with Bella’s memories returning, and the bond between Kael and Bella solidifying once more, Avalon knew her time here had come to an end.

She turned to Bella, her expression softening. “Bella,” Avalon said gently, her voice calm but tinged with a sadness she couldn’t hide. “I may be leaving, but know this: You are more than capable of handling whatever comes next. Your power is immense, but it will demand sacrifices. Be careful, and don’t let it control you.”

Bella looked at Avalon, her eyes full of both gratitude and confusion. Her hybrid powers were still a mystery to her in many ways, and Avalon’s words were both a warning and a reminder. She nodded, silently acknowledging Avalon’s advice.

“I’ll be careful,” Bella replied, her voice quiet but firm. “Thank you for everything you’ve done for me… for us. I’m not sure where I would be without your help.”

Avalon smiled, though the expression didn’t quite reach her eyes. “You’ve come a long way, Bella. And I truly hope that whatever the future holds, you find peace with it.” She hesitated, then added softly, “And Kael, take care of her. She’s more fragile than she seems.”

Kael, who had been watching the exchange quietly, nodded. His chest tightened as he saw the woman who had helped them so much now about to walk away. But he didn’t argue. He didn’t even know what to say. The truth was, Avalon’s departure was bittersweet—he owed her a debt of gratitude, and yet, his heart was irrevocably tied to Bella.

“You’ll always have a place in our alliance, Avalon,” Kael said, his voice steady though a flicker of emotion passed through him. “If you ever need help, or if anything changes… don’t hesitate to reach out.”

Avalon gave him a small, appreciative nod. “I will. Take care of each other.”

With one last lingering glance, Avalon turned, her steps deliberate and slow as she made her way out of the room. Kael and Bella watched her go, the silence that followed thick with the weight of unspoken thoughts.

As the door closed softly behind Avalon, Bella let out a quiet breath. “I never realized how much I needed her until now,” she said, almost to herself, her eyes following Avalon’s retreating figure.

Kael turned toward her, concern flickering in his gaze. “You’re going to be okay, Bella. With or without her, I’ll always be here for you.” His voice was low and sincere, each word spoken from a place deep within his heart.

Bella turned to him then, and for the first time in what felt like ages, she let herself relax. She could see the sincerity in Kael’s eyes, the unwavering devotion he had for her, and despite everything they had been through, the love that had never truly wavered. It was there, thick, stronger than any force in the world.

“I know,” she whispered, her voice soft but laden with emotion. She reached for his hand, her fingers trembling as she touched him. “I can feel it. And I… I’m sorry for pushing you away. I was just so lost in my own head, in the confusion of everything.”

Kael smiled at her gently, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “There’s nothing to apologize for. I’ve never stopped loving you, Bella. I know it’s been hard, but we’re here now. Together.”

The warmth of his words, the tenderness of his touch, seemed to reach deep into her soul. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting herself bask in the safety of his presence, feeling a sense of peace that had eluded her for so long.

Bella opened her eyes again, meeting Kael’s gaze. There was a softness there now, a flicker of something that hadn’t been there before—hope, maybe, or the beginning of something new. “It feels like things are finally falling into place,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kael’s heart swelled at her words, but he didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he pulled her gently toward him, enveloping her in a tender embrace. She fit perfectly in his arms, like she always had, and for a moment, everything felt right. The chaos, the confusion, and the pain seemed distant now, replaced with a calm that was far more powerful.

“I think it does,” Kael said softly, his voice hushed with awe as he held her close. “We’ve fought so hard for this, Bella. We’ve survived everything that’s been thrown at us. And now… we have the chance to rebuild, to make things right.”
