Amia
Untangling myself from Levi was like disabling a bomb, I stayed quiet, held my breath, and moved as cautiously as possible. I’d finally made some progress and was able to try and get free now. I slid inch by inch off his chest, when his arms tightened around me and so did the grip on my cheek. I hated the audible gulp that reached my ears. I hiccuped and cursed. My heart was pounding in my chest and I tried to press my lips firmly together to stop from waking him.
My heart dropped into my belly as I stared into velvet brown eyes. Of course my morning could get worse. I’d gotten caught. What had he seen? I’m at a loss for words as I feel a warmth of blush making it’s way up my neck. My face was probably bright red. This was Levi, I shouldn’t be feeling this way. Even as I thought the words, I shut my eyes. I counted as I held my breath in hopes that that hiccups would subside. When I hiccuped again, I knew it was futile and sighed. I lifted my chin, opened my eyes, and my jaw dropped when I found a smirk on his lips. I was about to swear at him when I hiccuped and his eyes lightened.
“I’m glad you find this funny,” I huffed.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Levi said innocently.
“Oh, I’m sure,” I said.
His morning voice did things to me I didn’t want to acknowledge. Wave after wave of deliciousness washed over me and I clenched my thighs together. His eyes widened in surprise before they darkened knowingly. I don’t know what he thinks he knows, but I need to get out of here.
“Are we going to stare at each other all morning, or are you going to let me go now?” I asked.
“Never,” Levi whispered.
“You’re so frustrating,” I said.
“There’s the spitfire I know. Why do you automatically assume that I’m messing with you?” Levi asked with a smile.
“How can I take you seriously when you’re looking at me like that?!” I snuffed.
“Like what? Like a man possessed? Like a man who likes waking up to you in the morning? Like a man who might want to keep doing this?” Levi asked.
My jaw dropped and I was speechless. He chuckles and I snap my mouth shut as I shake my head. Levi has always been one to joke around. The flirting, the sweet words, they all come so easy to him. Too easy.
“…. don’t smile at me! You… you pervert!” I said. I tried and failed to look angry at him. We both stare at each other for a second before we burst into laughter.
“Really? Pervert? Was that the best you could come up with?” Levi asked.
“Shut up!” I giggled.
“Gods, I love that sound,” Levi said.
“Levi,” I warned.
There it was again. His fingers that gripped my ass, trailed gently over my hips and up my back. I didn’t bother trying to pretend I was unaffected as a shiver ran down my spine and made the hair on my hands stand. He made this sound in his chest and I melted. Ignoring me, he pushed his body up and at the same time he lowered his head until it was next to mine.
“Besides… I hear that girls like a man who knows what he likes,” Levi murmured.
His breath so close to my ear. I turned and our cheeks were so close to touching. I raised my eyes to look up at him through my lashes. He stared down at me, there isn’t a hint of joking Levi. The expression on his face isn’t cocky, he just oozes confidence.
He’s just so damn good that I can’t fault him. That’s not the only reason I can’t be angry at him. I’m at a loss with him sitting behind me, I can feel all of him back there and I’m doing the Goddesses work by not giving into whatever it is my body wants. This should feel wrong, this shouldn’t feel so right, yet I’m more than content here in his arms, and that’s what scares me.
I was fine with where we were. I was content with our friendship. I had gone years without him, getting this back felt amazing. I was happy to have him back and that’s what I should focus on. There was a line that we had never crossed and now was definitely not the right time to consider crossing it. It was a line I never even looked at. Where I was being cautious, Levi was straddling the line like he was ready to try it out and I didn’t know if he was still joking around or if he was serious.
“I have a lot of shit to sort out,” I mumbled.
“I know,” Levi sighed.
“I think you should let me go,” I said.
“What if I don’t want to?” Levi asked.
We stared at each other. Silently reading the other. No one breathed, no one said a word, we just looked. Just when I started to think he was serious, his eyes lit up and a smile spread across his lips. I should have known better. I shake my head and lean back. I push away from him, this time he lets me move, but only as much as he’ll allow. His hand stops me halfway through my attempt at getting up.
My mouth drops as he pulls me back down on top of him so that I’m seated on him. Now I’m straddling Levi, actually straddling him. My hands are on his abdomen, my eyes wide and my legs splayed out on either side of him. I swallow as I stare down at him and he looks up at me with a playful smile.
“Don’t leave,” Levi said. It sounds like like he’s pleading with me, but I won’t be fooled twice.
“Let me go, Levi,” I said.
