Dylan’s words echoed in my head and I clenched my fists as he glared at Levi. I hated how easily dismissed me and it only proved how little he thought of me. My thoughts, my feelings, my side of things never mattered to him. Levi and I weren’t dry humping. I looked down to where Levi’s arm wrapped around my waist and his hand gripped my hip. We were very close and on school grounds. We were definitely attracting the attention of the students rushing to get to class.
“Ami already told you what I am,” Levi said through gritted teeth.
“I didn’t ask what the bitch said, I asked what the fuck you are,” Dylan growled.
His eyes flashed yellow and I couldn’t believe he was risking himself here. I looked around and people were staring and whispering as they walked past. Dylan’s grip on my arm tightened the longer Levi failed to answer him. His claws extended and I bit back a whimper as they pierced skin. My best friend shook with anger from behind me and I lifted my chin to look up at him. I don’t know what I expected, but the blood thirsty look in his eyes as he glared at Dylan that he was close to snapping. His eyes lowered to where Levi’s arm held me close.
“Are you going to keep holding my girl?” Dylan asked.
“She doesn’t have any problem with it, so yeah, I am,” Levi teased.
“You’re going to let her go,” Levi started. His voice was smooth and tension cackled in the air at his challenge. Before he could continue, Dylan spoke.
“And if I don’t?” He asked.
I held my breath as his words registered and Levi leaned forward. His hair brushed against my ear and a shiver ran down my spine as I leaned into him. He lowered his lips to my neck and pressed a kiss to the sensitive skin. Dylan lifted his free hand and my eyes widened as he swung for Levi’s face. Without looking, Levi caught his arm and turned to face Dylan. I watched as shock flashed across his features before his shoulders tensed.
“You’re one of them,” he growled. It wasn’t a question. Levi definitely wasn’t a wolf and everyone here knew him to be human, but no human could block an alpha’s attack. Dylan looked down at me with an incredulous look in his eyes.
“You’re going to let go of her, turn around and go to class. When Ami wants to talk to you, she will let you know when she wants to. If you don’t let go of her, I’m going to rip your arm off,” Levi said in that calm voice of his. He tightened his grip on Dylan and I watched as his eyes widened in confusion before pain splashed across his face. He tried to jerk his hand free, but couldn’t. “Three… two…” Levi counted down. Before he could say one, Dylan growled and released me. I whimpered as I brought my arm close to my body. Dylan yanked his hand free and Levi released him, only slightly. Blood dripped from his hand and Dylan growled. I didn’t want to go through the day waiting to have this conversation. I needed to get it over with.
“Dylan wait, it’s okay,” I said. The wall of muscle behind me tensed at my words and I gripped his arm around my waist. I squeezed it, hoping it would reassure him. A smirk spread across Dylan’s lips and his gaze darted to Levi. “I’ll talk to you right here, right now.”
“Are you going to hide behind your blood sucker?” Dylan asked. I grabbed Levi’s hand and squeezed it before letting go to face the boy I’ve spent way too much time with.
“I’m not hiding behind anyone,” I said.
“Is this about Friday? We had a good time, didn’t we? If you’re feeling insecure about your first time, you don’t have to be. We can practice until you’re better at it,” Dylan cooed. My skin crawled at the idea of doing anything remotely sexual with him. There was no chances of that, Levi showed me it wasn’t supposed to be like that. What Dylan had done was assault, it was rape. I couldn’t go through it again. I couldn’t stomach being with him any longer.
“You’re sick. We,” I said motioning between the two of us, “didn’t have a good time. You had a good time raping me. There will be no practicing and there will be no second time,” I shuttered. You’re a selfish narcissistic alphahole who only cared about himself. You never made me feel loved or cared for. I was just some pretty thing you could show off and play with when you had the time. You hurt me and I still tried to be there for you. I thought I loved you! You made me feel like I was the one in the wrong when you were physically and mentally abusive. I’m done making excuses for you, Dylan. I deserve better,” I said. My hands trembled but I held my head high and kept my voice firm. I’d wasted enough time on him and I wasn’t going to waste a second more. I’d be damned if I let myself end up like my mom.
“Is this because of this filthy blood sucker? Did he give you a good time? Make you think you’re actually worth something?” Dylan laughed.
“Don’t call him that. He’s my friend and actually cares about me. No one decides my worth for me,” I whispered.
Shaking his head he closed the distance between us. I tasted bile as his warmth surrounded me and his scent wrapped around me. I expected him to be angry, I expected him to fight it, but all of his hate is directed at Levi. He looks down at me with a look that tells me my words meant nothing to him. His leans in close and inhales deeply, smelling me. His eyes flare with the knowledge that I’ve been with Levi.
