The Alpha's Mistress

Ch. 42 / 70 May 07, 2026

“What? You don’t get people commenting on your scent?” Andrius asked.

“Oh yeah, it’s an every day occurrence,” I joked.

I was thankful Levi was human, I think I would actually die of embarrassment if he could scent the change in smell. Andrius doesn’t say anything, but there’s a rumble in his chest and a look in his eyes that has me shifting on my feet. Since he jumped into the water he has come on strong and my body has reacted. I don’t much thought into it though, he’s an alpha. They are naturally attractive and it’s natural for women and men to be drawn to them. He motions for me to sit and I take a seat on one of the many seats.

“You’ve got a mouth on you,” he said.

“Most people keep their thoughts to themselves,” I said.

He shakes his head as he takes a seat right next to me. I hate how I watch as he leans back, his muscles rippling as he lifts his arms and crosses his hands behind his head. I hate it even more how my gaze lingers and my mouth waters. His eyes are closed as he feels the warmth of the sun on his face.

“Enjoy the view?” Alpha Andrius asked.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said. I’d been caught, but that’s what I get for staring at him with my mouth open like a fish. He wasn’t even looking at me, so how did he know? He chuckled, his eyes opening as he turned his head toward me.

“I’m only teasing,” he joked. “It is I who is enjoying the view.”

His eyes dropped and trailed down my body. Somehow I had forgotten that I was basically naked. Warmth washed over me as I fought the urge to cover my body with my arms. I wouldn’t hide, it was nice because I didn’t have to be myself right now. I could be confident, I could be brave. I could pretend I wasn’t embarrassed of my body. His brow furrows the lower his gaze travels and I swallow. He’s seen them. His eyes stop on my ribs, my hip, and my thigh. He sits up and when he touches the places lightly with his fingers I’m at a loss for words.

“What are yo—”

“What happened?” He asked, cutting me off. His hand grips my thigh and spreads them. The act is so sexual, so personal my heart starts to quicken and so does my breathing. Unease prickles the corners of my mind and I ignore the fact that I’m definitely starting to panic.

I look down at my thigh and see big blue spots on the inside of both of my thighs. When I washed, I didn’t search for every bruise, I just washed. Now that I look down at myself, my body is bruised in angry purple bruises. I try to close my legs together, but he doesn’t let me.

“What happened?” He growled. His gray eyes flickered between his normal color and a glowing yellow. He raised his head and stared at me.

“I-I…” I didn’t know what to say.

“Does this have anything to do with dinner?” Andrius asked.

Once again I’m a fish, my mouth opens and shuts without a single word passing my lips. I don’t know what is going on and I don’t know why he’s getting so angry. We aren’t close, we don’t know each other like that, and we literally have only known each other for a few days. Something flashes in his eyes and I forget to breathe. His lips part and I know I’m not going to like the next words out of his mouth.

“Did he force you?” He asked so quietly. If I hadn’t seen his lips move myself I wouldn’t have heard him. I closed my eyes, and folded my arms across my chest. He releases my thigh and turns his whole body to face me, he pulls his leg up on the seat and I have his full undivided attention. He leaned forward until his lips were next to my ear.

“Did he hurt you?” He whispered. He was so close I could feel his body heat. It felt wrong and yet right at the same time. I shouldn’t want to answer him, I shouldn’t want to tell him the truth, and I shouldn’t want to ask him for help. The sun blared down on me, but a shiver ran up my spine. I turned from him and looked out at the lake. Kids are laughing and boys are splashing and jumping into the water. A punch has the boat jerking me back. I look up to see his fist clenched tightly.

“Tell me the truth Amia,” he growled.

“It was bound to happen. I asked for it,” I answered. When I turn to look at him, his eyes are no longer flashing, they’re glowing. I’m no longer talking to him, I’m talking to his wolf, and I need to tread carefully. I bow my head respectfully. How did I manage to get myself alone with an Alpha? My actions the past few days have been questionable. It’s like I’m looking for trouble.

“Alpha,” I greeted.

I don’t know him personally, but I know of him. Well, everyone knows about Alpha Andrius of the Silver Moon pack. I don’t know his wolf’s name, only those in his pack did and I wasn’t someone who knew much about other packs. I did know that his pack is our pack’s closest allies and the alliance between the packs has been in place for years. Blue Moon is also the largest pack in not only the Pacific North West, but in all of the US. He took over the pack from his dad the day he turned of age and has been running it successfully since. I heard that not even a year after taking over he managed to double their numbers.

“Is this how females are treated in the Bleeding Pack?” His wolf growled.
