Everything happened in slow motion then, Andrius leaned down, his eyes set on my lips. I entertained the idea of letting him kiss me, but I knew I couldn’t. Nothing would happen with me and another man while I was still with Dylan. It didn’t matter how he treated me, it didn’t matter that he yelled at me, or hit me. If I did this I would be lowering myself to his level. Did it mean that I didn’t want to? Definitely not. I wanted to. In the last twenty four hours I have wanted to do a lot of things that I shouldn’t. With Levi and now with Andrius. I wish Liz was here so I could talk to her about it. Having two men sway me in such a short period of time could not be normal. I leaned back and he stopped. His eyes lifted from my lips to my eyes and he nodded. He leaned back and smiled down at me.
“Understood,” he said. His voice was low and husky and did things to me. I took a step back and his hand dropped to his side. This is the amount of distance I should have had between us from the very start.
“It’s getting late,” I hinted.
Andrius reaches for me and engulfs my hand with one of his large ones. I swallow as I look down at my hand in his. He takes a step back and pulls me along with him. A small playful smile tugs at my lips as I look into his gray eyes. There was an air about Andrius that was contagious. He sat down in the captain’s chair and pulled me down with him. I sat up a little straighter as I sat on muscular thighs and something long and very hard.
Good Goddess.
This man was hung.
I fought the urge to wiggle in his lap as he leaned forward until his firm chest pressed against my back. I audibly gulped and he chuckled. His arms reached around me and gripped the steering wheel. Oh good, I’m glad I’m the only one who is affected by our proximity. The engine roared to life and the boat jerked forward. Somehow during our talk we had drifted further from shore, but as the sky turned orange, pink and yellow I didn’t mind. We didn’t say a word, instead, we enjoyed the breathtaking view of the sky and the water around us as the wind blasted our hair out of our face.
When we arrived to the dock, I hopped off of his lap, and climbed on the seats by the edge of the boat. He grabbed my hand and stopped me. I turned to look at him as he lifted me into the air. Throwing my arms around him, I held on tightly as he walked off the boat as he effortlessly held me in his arms.
“It’s like that, huh?” I asked.
“Like what?” Andrius asked.
“You’re just going to carry me like a bag of potatoes?” I asked.
“That I am. A guy can’t show off?” He asked. I laughed.
“I guess you can, but you can put me down now,” I said.
Andrius turned from me and locked on something on the shore. I followed his gaze and gasped when a familiar figure walked confidently towards us. The dock bobbed on the water as he walked forward.
“I don’t think I will,” he murmured.
“Andrius!” I half whispered, half yelled.
“Your friend is here,” he whispered.
“Yes, that he is,” I said.
That playful smile pulled at the corner of his lips, he straightened his back and his shoulders looked broader than they had before. His eyes flashed for a second before they returned back to his steal gray.
The thumping sound of his feet against wood turned to the sound of sand as he sunk into the ground with each step. Levi glared at Andrius the closer we got, I swear his eyes flashed red before we slowed to a stop a few feet away from him. The two men stared each other down and I felt like a rabbit stuck between two very hungry, very angry foxes.
“I think I’ll get down now,” I said quietly.
I pushed my hands against Andrius’ chest and he lowered me to the ground. When my feet hit the floor I moved to turn around, but it wasn’t that easy with Andrius. He stopped me and lifted my chin with his finger.
“I had a good time,” he said.
“As did I,” I said honestly as I looked into his eyes. It hadn’t been planned, but I’d had a good time with him. I was happy I got to see him here again.
“Ami, come here,” Levi said from behind me.
“She’s busy right now,” Andrius said without looking at him.
“I think she’s very much done with you,” Levi said. I turned from Andrius to look at my best friend.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“Please, come here,” Levi asked. His voice was harsh, but the look in his eyes was pleading. I sighed. I wanted to tell him where to go, but I didn’t want him to worry. I took my first step away from Andrius and toward Levi. When I reached him he threw his arms around me.
“I let you go for a few hours and another wolf gobbles you up,” he whispers.
“What? He did not,” I hissed.
“Mm,” he hummed. “Explain the big bad wolf then,” he said knowingly.
“That’s a long story,” I said.
“I bet,” he said.
“Hey now,” I teased. Levi started to move away, pulling me along with him.
“Now that you know who I am, all you have to do is call my packhouse. Let me know when you’re ready,” Andrius said from behind me.
Levi’s hair was pulled back, but whips of it fell into his eyes. He was a silver-haired God and I was enchanted. He pulled me forward away from the boat, away from my day on the lake, and away from Andrius. I peered over my shoulder at him and nodded.
“We’ll talk soon,” I said before turning around and following my best friend.
