The air was palpable as I watched Levi’s eyes flash from red to brown and for a split second, I woMy door opened and I blinked twice before I realized not only had we already arrived, but I had been completely out of it. I stepped out of the car, taking the hand offered to me, and my gaze trailed up to soft brown eyes staring down at me. I swallowed when I found Levi in front of me instead of behind me, still seated. How had I missed him getting out of the car, walking all the way around, and opening my door? After what happened earlier and texting Andrius, my head was in the clouds. I cried out as I was lifted up off of the ground and into strong capable hands.
“Levi!” I scolded.
He only chuckled and continued walking towards the door. Even with the speed of a cheetah, Levi took his time as he held me in his arms. There was no rush, just calm contentedness as he walked. No matter how many times he did this, I doubt I’ll ever get used to it. I burrowed closer into his embrace and leaned my head against his chest. The place I was safest, the place I was happiest was in Levi’s arms.
The doors to his house slash castle opened and he walked through like a King. If any of the two workers were surprised to see us, they didn’t show it. Their heads were bowed low as he passed them. He didn’t stop in the sitting room like I’d expected, he went straight for the stairs, and carried me as if I weighed nothing. It hadn’t even been that long but I was happy to be back. He took the first left and I sighed when the door to his room came into sight. I shouldn’t be so happy about going there, I should be waiting downstairs for Andrius, but I didn’t know how long it would take him to get here and Levi’s room was free of watching eyes.
He turned the knob with one hand and pushed it open. Stepping in, he closed it behind us and walked towards the seat in front of the fireplace. Thoughts of what we’d done there last flashed through my mind and I fought the smile from spreading across my face. Sitting down, he held me as if he wasn’t ready to let me go, as if keeping me close was as comforting for him as it was for me. None of us spoke for a few minutes and it was comfortable, it was nice and I knew I would treasure moments like this with him.
“I’m going to miss you,” Levi whispered.
“I won’t be gone for long,” I said, trying to sound helpful.
“Are you going to miss me?” He asked.
My eyes widened in surprise at his question. I moved back a little so I could look up into his eyes. A stray hair fell over his eye and I pushed it back out of his face. There was a small wrinkle in his forehead and if I didn’t feel the guilt I had about leaving him, I would have thought it cute. Leaning forward, I kissed him on the nose and it was his turn to be caught off guard.
“I am. I’m going to miss you a lot. At this point, I don’t know how I’ve carried on without you but I don’t want to have any regrets. All I’ve ever wanted was to leave here. I want to go on this trip and at this point, I should probably stay away from Dylan for awhile. Losing an eye is no laughing matter,” I said. Of course he’d choose to break out in a white toothy grin. “I’m happy that you can smile about popping someone’s eye, L,” I deadpanned. Which of course only made him smile even more. Levi leaned down, bringing his face close to mine, so close I could feel his minty breath.
“Don’t pretend you didn’t like seeing me claim you as mine. You were putty in my hands with your ex at your back. Did you like it when he begged for your attention?” Levi asked. I bit my lip and tried to look away but he tipped my chin up. “How did it make you feel? Showing him he was wrong? Showing him that a better man wanted you?” Levi growled. His words sent a jolt of electricity through me and goosebumps broke out over my skin. There was no running away from Levi and there was definitely no hiding anything from him.
“I liked feeling like yours,” I admitted.
“That’s my girl,” Levi said seductively.
The praise sent alight a warmth in my chest that threatened to explode and overflow. I wrapped my hands around his neck and leaned up. He froze as if in thought, his eyes flashed red and he lowered himself so that I could do what I wanted. He didn’t kiss me first, he hovered an inch in front of mine and I kissed him fervently.
Squishing my chest against his, I didn’t have a single care in the world as Levi’s hands trailed down my back and gripped my ass cheeks. I hummed appreciatively as his hardness rose to the occasion and I slowly moved my hips back and forth over it. Breaking the kiss, I gasped for air and trailed kisses down his chin. He growled low in my ear as I continued kissing down to his neck, showing off mine as I did.
“You tease,” He whispered.
“Mm…” I hummed.
My hands slid down his chest, trailing lower over his defined abs, and slipped beneath his shirt. There was so much we’d done in the last few days but there was still so much we hadn’t. My body tensed as I continued grinding over his girth. My mind was focused on the memory of riding his face the night before and liquid pooled between my legs. There was a knock on the door and I gasped as the spell I was under faded away.rried he would crush Dylan’s throat. When his hands loosened from around his neck, I let out a relieved breath and my body relaxed. I slumped against him and thanked the Goddess I was able to reach him before he could do anything he might regret. Arms wrapped around me and I looked up into warm brown eyes. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to my forehead.
“What am I going to do with you?” Levi whispered.
“Thanks for not killing him,” I murmured as a smile spread across my face.
“Mm.. don’t. I’m still contemplating it,” he murmured.
“He isn’t worth it Levi. Come no, let’s go,” I said.
Levi’s arms loosened and began to fall away from my body as we readied to get up. I cried out as my head was yanked back and pain pricked my scalp. Levi’s arms pulled me in. Dylan’s grip on my hair was strong, but Levi’s was stronger. Everything happened at once. Levi growled viciously as he jerked forward so quickly I was sure I’d have whiplash. There was a sickening popping sound followed by my hair being released and a blood curling scream. My cheek pressed against Levi’s chest as something, I’m assuming Dylan’s foot, kicked me in the back. Levi shielded my body from Dylan as he flailed around.
“You’ll leave now, or I’m going to gut you and feed you your entrails. I don’t care where we are and I sure as fuck don’t care who watches. I’d enjoy killing you,” Levi threatened.
My mouth dried at the thought of that. I turned around in his embrace to look at Dylan. My stomach dropped and my mouth filled with bile as my gaze locked on the liquid that ran down the side of his face and hand as it cupped his empty socket. I covered my mouth and retched. No amount of werewolf healing would be able to bring that back. Dylan’s remaining eye darted to me before returning to Levi.
“You’ve signed your death, blood sucker. My father will hear of this. You’ll fucking regret it,” Dylan spluttered angrily.
“Not likely dog. You’ve signed yours and I’ll be collecting the other soon. Go ahead and run to daddy. Leave,” Levi spat.
Dylan’s eye widened as he realized there was no fear in Levi. Confusion splashed across his features before it was replaced with anger. He pushed off the ground and stumbled on his feet. With one last look at me, he ran toward the school gates. Levi stood and pulled me up with him.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured.
“For what?” I asked.
“I never wanted to show you that side of me,” he said nervously.
“I’m not afraid of you Levi. I don’t think I ever could be,” I said honestly. He held me close and I leaned into him.
“How are you feeling after… doing it?” Levi asked quietly.
“I’m surprisingly okay. Thanks to you, I wasn’t afraid,” I said gratefully.
“I’m glad I was able to help,” Levi chuckled. I sighed. “What’s up?”
“I don’t even want to go anymore. I just want to leave now,” I breathed. His arms tightened around me. “I haven’t talked to Liz yet and I want to.”
“After what’s happened with your ex, I think it would be smart for you to leave now,” Levi whispered sadly. “As for Liz, you can text her, or I can update her until you can talk to her.”
“I don’t know if I should leave her here. You want me to leave?” I asked.
“I don’t think a human will be welcomed within the pack you’re visiting. And you need to ask her if that’s what she wants. No, I don’t want you to leave. I want the exact opposite. I want you to stay with me, I want to steal you and run as far away as possible,” Levi sighed. “I never thought I’d ever send you into the arms of another man. So believe me when I say this is killing me,” he said. His eyes grew sad but he smiled at me. “I’d do whatever it took to make sure you’re safe. Now with Dylan running to his dad with his tail between his legs, I need to take care of a few things.”
“You’re right,” I sighed. “I’ll talk to her about it when I can. What things do you need to take care of?” I asked curiously.
“Mm. I’ll tell you everything when we see each other again and don’t think I’m accepting defeat. I’m not going to let him have you,” Levi promised. I bit on my lip nervously. I couldn’t promise him that I wasn’t going to do anything with Andrius. I wouldn’t lie to him either, there was chemistry between me and the alpha. I pushed up on the tips of my toes and pressed my lips to his. His hand wrapped around and gripped the back of my neck. Levi’s mouth came down on mine, hungrily, passionately, and I sighed as I melted into him. When we pulled apart, my chest rose and fell as I struggled to catch my breath and he stared down at me with a look that promised pleasure.
“You should let him know you’re ready,” Levi murmured gruffly.
“Okay,” I whispered.
“Give him my address. He can pick you up from there,” Levi said.
“Okay,” I whispered again. I was out of breath still, my mind failed to work as I stared at Levi’s lips. He grabbed my hand and turned to walk back to the car. I looked back over my shoulder. I’m only supposed to go for a week, but I have this feeling that I would be seeing this school for a very long time, if ever. As for Liz, I would do my best to convince her to come with me. At least until there was no danger. Turning from the school, I looked forward, ready to face a new beginning.
