The next morning, the women were in the kitchen cooking breakfast as the men were outside working with the warriors. Katai and Selene had an eternal blush on their faces, and Talon could not help but tease them. "Found out what all that sticky goodness could be used for other than a sweet dessert for the children, did you? I expect every couple involved in that ice cream fight had the best sex of their life last night. I know I did." Talon laughed at the look of embarrassment on her fellow Luna's faces. She loved watching the goddesses learn to live like normal wolves, but she had many questions about how they performed their goddess duties.
Selene was the first to respond to Talon's gentle teasing, "I didn't know that a tongue could do the things Lorn did last night." a shiver went down her spine at the thought of a particular spot Lorn's tongue kept hitting last night. She heard him in her head, "Behave Luna. If you keep thinking like that, I will have to leave practice with the warriors and have you show what kind of skills your tongue and mouth have." Selene gasped, and Katia giggled as Talon asked, "Your men telling you to behave and control your thoughts?" Both women shook their heads, yes, and Talon told them, "Mark gave up telling me to behave. Don't worry. You two will eventually learn how this whole bond thing works and how to use it when you don't want anyone else to know what you are doing or saying."
Katia inquired, "What do you mean? We use the bond to communicate all the time."
"Yes, but if you reach out and quietly slide into your men's heads, you will feel what they feel, see what they see, and know what they think, like they do with you. You can use the bond to send pictures of your thoughts to one another or to let your mate feel your touch." Talon educated them. "Really? The two of you were part of our creation, and you do not know how the whole mate bond works?" She exclaimed while looking confused.
Katia was the one who spoke in her and her sister's defense, "We wanted a bond that would let you know that you had found your fated soul mate, but we did not know how it would develop. Over the years, as the mates learned more about how to use it, the bond became so much more for you. It is what keeps you close as mates and allows you to be together when separated for short periods. Longer periods are difficult because of the need for touch." Her whispery voice made the whole mate bond sound as romantic as it was, but Talon also thought it was a pain at times. They were finishing breakfast as the men came walking in freshly showered, their hair still wet and dripping. The three sat on the island as each woman put a plate before them. Lorn and Mark started eating immediately, but Nathan waited until Katia returned to get her plate and grabbed hold of her. He sat her on his lap and told her, "You will share my plate, mate. If more is needed, then I will get it. I want to feed you."
Selene giggled as Talon sighed, "How romantic!"
Mark choked on his food and sputtered, "The only time my wolf tried to feed you from our plate, you took offense, dumped the plate over my head, and told me you were not a child and could feed yourself."
"That is because my alpha, coming in with your wolf in control and dropping a dead rabbit on the plate of food I was already eating, then sitting down next to me saying "I feed" like a caveman was disgusting, not romantic," Talon exclaimed back at Mark. Looking at the other two couples, she told them, "I expected him to start marking his territory next. His wolf needed some training in the mate department."
The two other couples laughed at the story, and Katia remarked, "I guess we should have put some more thought into this wolf and fated mate thing, huh?"
"In our defense, we were just babes when this all began, and in between the chaos of our lives, we have evolved our wolves the best we could. We were ignorant of the world we sent them to live in until we started trying to do so ourselves."
Lorn stroked his thumb back and forth over hers and assured both twins, "You have done spectacularly with us, and we are happy with our way of life. We love one another and take care of each other. What other species does that? Yes, some bad wolves are born broken, or something in their life breaks them, but they are still shown love and mercy when they return to you."
Nathan interjected, "And now it is time to evolve us again. We six are strong and the ranking wolves we surround ourselves with. Not to mention, our new supernatural family has come to us. We will lead our pack into whatever the future is for us."
The girls wondered, "What kind of suggestions and questions do you think the packs will have? Do you think combining and becoming one pack is the right thing?"
Katia straightened her back as the other two women wondered this. She had no concerns, "It seems like it will be hard to give up each pack's beliefs and ideals, but we will combine them all. Each pack's history will be taught and become all of our history." Katia had been speaking up more since the sister awoke more mentally balanced and seemed to understand better all that had happened to them. The two women acted like young girls still sometimes and needed to be near each other, but they were doing well. Nathan felt the doubt in his mate as she second-guessed her plans for her pack. Ultimately, this would be her pack as the Alpha Luna, and deep down, they all knew she would become strong enough to lead them all. Nathan let her feel his warmth and love as he pulled her back against his chest where she belonged. He fed her a fork full of pancakes and spoke while she chewed, "We have to stand together on this and have no doubt this is what we want also. If you have any doubts, they need to be said now."
Mark went first, but it was not about his doubts, "Little ghost, you know Kelp, and I will follow you anywhere into anything. I agree with what you are trying to do and support you and it with everything in my being. I knew you were special when you walked out that door and stood staring at me. I could feel it, but Kelp understood immediately, and we swore our loyalty to you. It will stay with you until the day we die. We will always be with you. We will always be by your side." As Mark finished his sentence, Kelp and Dalia walked in, reiterating what Mark had said, "Little ghost, you are my Alpha Luna and always will be where you go, I go. The three of us to the end, remember?"
Nathan wiped the tear from his mate's cheek as she sniffled, "I remember. But I think we became much more than just the three of us." She glanced out the kitchen window, and in the field on which the cabin was built was every wolf that was blood bonded to her and every individual that had been taken by Moon Touched pack, and they were kneeling to her. Katia felt every one of them through her blood bond with them, and the love rolling off them for her was beyond anything she had known or felt except for what Nathan felt for her. Smiling she stood and went out to the porch, "Good morning, would you all like to have our meeting now? I think it is going to take most of the day and into the night for everything to be worked out."
Kane stepped forward and announced, "No, cousin, we will meet later this afternoon as agreed upon. You and Selene are still healing, and you look tired. Go and relax with your mate and fellow leaders of our pack. We will get everything ready for later." He had his ar around his mate Amara, who proudly looked up at him and stood on her toes to say something to him. Kane leaned down so he could hear her and smiled. "Cousins, my mate would like to ask permission for her to bring lunch and visit with you and her sister later this morning?"
Selene walked off the porch and hugged Kane, "So formal, cousin. You are a god, and bow to none. You and your mate are welcome anytime. No need to ask, We are family, we are pack!" The crowd of wolves cheered at her declaration, and Nathan thought it looked like they had found their new motto. Three alphas looked amongst themselves, and it was clear to each of them that their job would be to protect these women with everything they had because they would be the backbone of this new pack and guide them through the new future. Selene hugged Amara again, and everyone was disbursed for the time being. They went to prepare for the biggest meeting of their lives, and the excitement in the air was exhilarating. Everyone could feel it. Something big was going to happen, and it was going to happen to them. They all knew that whatever it was, they would never be the same or be able to go back to who they were or what they are now. The anticipation was like a living thing floating around in the air like electricity. As the day passed, everyone became more excited, and discussions of what they wanted to present to their ruling alpas and lunas started happening.
Even the teenagers and pups were full of anticipation and excitement. They were guessing what new name the pack would have. Leo thought it should be called after him since he was a great warlock. One of the teens thought it should be named after the six leaders by combining letters from all their names. They all spent the rest of the day trying to develop a cool name for the new pack. The new pack's name had to be something cool and unique, as they were going to be, so everyone would remember them after meeting them. Cronos was proud of these wolves and the other supernaturals they had accepted as part of their pack. He thought they could teach the gods quite a few things and wished that Uranus would have taken the time to know these species from this realm. For they are unique and resilient. He hoped Gaia's plan was what they needed to save their species and keep their beliefs of family, pack, and mates.
Time had flown that day, and before he realized how long he stood watching and thinking about his nieces and their creation, it was time for the meeting to begin. The three alphas and their mates were approaching the dining area. The time had come that would shape their future; may the gods love and help them through it all.
