Married to the heartless Billionaire

Chapter 38. FROM UNKNOWN

Ch. 38 / 114 Sep 17, 2024

SOPHIA CASTILLO

"You look beautiful," Adrian said to me as I admired myself through the standing mirror.

"Thank you," I said to him, staring at him through the mirror.

"Are you ready?" He asked.

We were yet to leave for the wedding location but it wasn't time yet.

We had thirty minutes before the wedding begins.

"Shall we?" Adrian said, stretching his hands forth for me to take and I take them hesitantly.

"Excuse me, I want to spend some time with my Evelyn," I told him and he nodded his head permitting me.

He pulled me back closer to him just as I was about to leave and whispered in my ears. "Do not take long."

I felt a jolt of electricity run down my spine when he whispered into my ears.

"There is the wedding girl," I said as soon as I entered the room Evelyn was in.

"You look really good," I told her with a smile on my face.

"Thank you," she replied me smiling back at me.

"How are you feeling?" I asked her.

Looking at her in her wedding dress only reminded me of my wedding and how nervous, pained and angry I was.

How much time has flown?

"I am feeling fine, thank you," she replied to me.

"Or I won't say I am really fine. I am very nervous. I don't even know how to feel now. I'm anxious too. I want the wedding to get by as soon as possible. In conclusion, I have a lot going on in my mind," she explained.

"You will be fine. Do not worry," I told her and she sighed.

"I will be fine," she said before taking in a deep breath and exhaling deeply.

"I'm surprised your husband came. I wasn't expecting him to. You said nothing was going on between you two but it doesn't seem that way or is he pretending to care for public sake?" She asked inquisitively.

My shoulder sagged. I do not know what to say about the situation.

"Hey, look at me," Evelyn urged and I did as told.

"Remember you can talk to me right? You do know that right? What's going on? Talk to me Sophia," she said and I sighed.

"There is nothing much going on. I do not even know what's going on between us," I told her.

"Are you for real?" She asked a hint of surprise laced into her tone and I nodded my head in confirmation.

"I do not know, trust me. I mean before we got married he was harsh and mean to me. He made it known a lot of times that I was never going to be loved or cared for by him. He was the reason my sister ran away and then he always bullied me about everything, not with his hands but with his words. Always making me feel inferior and calling me names but one day it changed..." I trailed off recalling how it all began.

"He became different to me. He became nice. He no longer calls me a gold digger or insults my eyes anymore. It's just crazy. He is being too touchy now and it's making me nervous Evie," I told her and she sighed.

"Do you like him?" She asked me, taking me by surprise as I had not expected her to ask me that.

Do I like Adrian? I asked myself.

Surely he has been popping into my mind lately and I can't seem to get over the kiss we shared I am starting to warm up to him but at the same time, he makes me nervous when he is closer but I do not even know if that meant anything.

"I am not sure. I do not even know," I replied to her.

If you had asked me this last month, I would have said negative but now it was different.

"You need to find out soon. I mean I saw how he looked at you and for you, I can't say but how does he make you feel?" She asked me.

"I don't know..." I trailed off, thinking of how to describe my feelings for her.

"He makes me feel nervous and calm at the same time but most times nervous. Compared to before I was nervous because I was scared of him but now it's different.

"Do not worry. With time you will figure it out. You said he has changed towards you? Maybe you should ask him. I mean he doesn't seem like a bad person," she told me and I nodded my head.

Suddenly her phone beeped beside her and she checked the message.

"What?" I asked her as she had a very complicated look on her face.

"I got a text from an unknown number but I feel it's Sarah," she said and from the mention of Sarah's name, I felt my heart skip.

FROM UNKNOWN: Congratulations on your wedding Evie pie, I wish I was there to personally congratulate you but I just want you to know that I am happy for you and that I wish you the best.

Evelyn read and I collected the phone from her to see the message for myself. Immediately, I took out my phone from my purse to dial the number that the message came from.

Each time I dialed the number, I was directed to voicemail.

"Fuck!" I cursed, surprised by my actions.

Evelyn collected her phone from my hand and texted the number back.

TO UNKNOWN: Thanks for congratulating me but then again you are heartless Sarah and the right thing for you to do is come back home. Everyone is worried.

She sent the number, hoping that it would get to Sarah. Tears blurred my eyes.

Sarah has not texted anyone of us or tried to contact us ever since she left and it hurt me so much. Who would have thought that my older sister had it in her to leave her family for this long?
