SOPHIA CASTILLO
"Do you like the dresses?" Adrian asked me on the phone.
It's been over a week since I returned and over a week since he asks to be my friend. Since then we have been trying to get to know one another.
The next day, he took me out to fancy five-star restaurants. He said he didn't wasn't used to things like this but he just wants to try things out.
"Yes. I love them all. I can't choose the one I want to wear for the event since they all match the theme," I told him.
"Well, I had one in mind but I wanted you to be the one to choose for yourself but since you are having difficulty choosing, why don't you wear the one with the beads. I think that would look better on you," he said and I carried the dress with beads on the bed with my hands to take a look at it.
It did stand out compared to the other two dresses.
"Fine then," I told him.
"Okay. I will call you later today when the driver comes over to pick you up. Take care of yourself," he said.
"Sure and thanks once again for the dresses," I said to him.
"Do not," he said.
"Huh?" I asked perplexed.
"Stop saying thank you to me every time I give you something. It doesn't make me feel like a good person." He said and I chuckle.
"What? How is saying thank you to someone who got you something a bad thing? And it doesn't make you feel like a bad person. I'm just appreciating you," I explained.
"Someone? Ouch! How can you refer to me as someone Sophia? I thought we were past that stage? I'm hurt." He said.
"I'm sorry," I apologized.
"For fuck sake, stop saying you are sorry and thank you to me all of the time. I'm starting to hate that word." He said and I ran my finger through my hair as I dropped the dress in my hand back on the bed.
I do not know what to do anymore. Sometimes it was hard to come up with words when speaking to him. I sighed, biting my lips.
I heard him sigh on the phone. "Are you still there?" He asked and I hummed in response.
"Then why did you stop talking?" He asked.
"I do not know what to say," I replied.
"We will talk later," he said and ended the call and I suddenly felt bad.
Was I making it too hard or I wasn't trying enough? I sat down on the bed and looked at the dresses once again.
ADRIAN CASTILLO
"I already told you that this is wrong. How many times do I have to correct you for you to understand the concept of this whole project!" I scolded my marketing manager.
"I'm so sorry sir. I tried but then I..." I cut him off.
"Do not. Do not speak while I'm talking and enough with your defense. If you fail to do this correctly and as I have told you to then you might as well kiss your job goodbye," I warned him before walking to the front of the glass in my office.
"Leave," I said firmly.
I was tired of talking to him. Maybe I was just being too angry because of how my conversation with Sophia ended.
I do not know if I was doing too much or doing good because each time I end up making her have nothing to say back to me and it's driving me insane.
Was I trying too hard or it was just how she was? One minute I'm trying to converse and the next minute, it's like I'm doing too much. It's starting to drive me crazy.
I like this girl maybe we didn't start on the right side but then I'm trying to make things right. To build our relationship and have a good time with her but I end up scaring her and making her apologize all the time.
I hated hearing her apologize to me. Before I got to know the light about her father, whenever she apologized to me, I thought she was just pretending but it seems that she has gotten used to apologizing to me whenever I speak.
It wasn't as if I've ever raised my voice at her before but I get that I can sound very intimidating lately I've been trying not to but I end up doing it wrong and she ends up apologizing.
"Just leave," I told my marketing manager and he did as told.
I walked back to my seat and sat down on it.
Just what do I have to do to get her to be free with me?
My phone rang and I answered it.
"Speak," I ordered my driver.
"Good evening sir. I am on my way to pick up Mrs. Castillo. I just wanted to inform you," he said.
"Okay," I replied before ending the call.
I already told her that I would call her when the driver was on his way.
I dialed her number on my phone which I had saved as a gold digger in the past but now as Sophia Castillo. I know it looked weird saving her number that way and I want to change it but I was just waiting for the right time.
"Hey," I heard her soft voice through the phone, and I felt shivers down my spine.
I love the way she speaks. It sounded like a sweet melody in my ear and I could listen to her speak all day.
"Hi..." I trailed off.
I wanted to apologize to her for my attitude earlier but I thought it would be better to apologize to her physically.
"The driver is on his way. I just wanted to inform you," I told her, rubbing the back of my neck nervously.
She makes me very nervous all of the time, something that never happened to me. Nobody could make me nervous but each time I'm with her or I try to make conversation with her, I am always nervous.
