"What... What are you doing here?" I asked Adrian who had just let himself into my room without knocking.
"Why didn't you come to me?" He said, surprising me with his actions.
"Come to you for what?" I asked him frantically.
"You heard what Mr. Brian said to me and instead of you to come to talk to me about it, you concluded and then you began to avoid me. Why didn't come to ask me?" He asked and my lips parted in shock.
Was he expecting that I approached them and challenged them? Was he expecting that I make a scene by denying the allegations against my father? I wondered what he expected me to do.
Right from the moment he saw me, he never hid his dislike and he made it hard to approach him so why would I go against him.
"What...what..." I stuttered, furrowing my brows in confusion.
"What you heard is not exactly what you think is it?" He said.
"Then what is it?" I asked him.
"It's simple, okay. I used to suspect your father because before I got married to you or got to know your sister, I heard and saw some things your father did which I later found out were all false accusations and the videos I got were all false but I'm still investigating the matter to catch who had set your father up. But scratch that..." He pinched the bridge of his nose as he moved closer to me.
"It turns out your father got deceived by someone and that's how he ended up losing that much much given to him by the investors. After finding out, I felt bad for how I had treated you," he said and my lips parted in confusion.
"What... What are you now expecting me to do and why are you telling me this?" I asked him.
"It's simple. You hate me because you think I have been lying to you about wanting to build our relationship but the truth is I never lied. I rant to get to know you and be a better person for you," he answered.
"A better person for me? Why?" I was surprised by his tone.
He ran his finger through his hair.
"I know I've said that I hated your eyes in the past and called you a lot of names but the truth is, every word that came out of my lips is false and they were all the opposite of what I said to you," he said.
"What do you mean?" I asked, wanting him to clarify himself.
He move closer to me and placed his hand on each side of my shoulder.
"I like you, Sophia. I don't just like you, I like you as a man would like a woman and it's all new to me and it's... It's terrifying me," he confessed and I gulped.
I wasn't expecting him to say this and it did take me by surprise. My heart began to race faster than normal.
My eyes locked with his.

"I know you are surprised but trust me, I am not expecting to hear a reply from you."
"I like you Sophia and I'm sorry for how I treated you in the past. Your eyes...they are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in this world. They are beautiful and I'm mesmerized each time I look at them. Whenever I look at your eyes, I feel things that I'm not supposed to feel and it scared me that was why I hated them. Whenever I looked at them, I felt stranger feelings, feelings that I wasn't used to and so I thought you were deliberately looking at me that way and you knew just what you were doing but playing innocent," he expatiates.
I was still trying to wrap all that he has just said to me in my head.
"I'm not trying to deceive you, Sophia. I like you and I want our marriage to work. I'm willing to start over again," he said.
I opened my mouth to say something but closed them back as I didn't know what to say back to him.
"Okay," I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat.
"What do you say? I know might not have started right but I want to start things right with us now. Let's get to know each other better and spend more time with each other," he said and I nodded my head.
I still do not know how to wrap everything in my head but I was just nodding my head while trying to comprehend at the same time.
"I would also love it if you forgot all that I said to you in the past even though I know it would be hard to It would make me progress. I will try and make things right with you and then your family, what did you say?" He asked, staring into my eyes.
"This... This is a lot to handle," I told him.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for pushing you once again. It wasn't my intention," he apologized, moving away from me to give me space.
"What you are telling me is that there is a misunderstanding from the start and you aren't deceiving me, is that it?" I asked him and he nodded his head.
"You are also telling me that you no longer suspect my father and I planning against you?" I asked and he nodded his head.
"Are you also trying to say, you want to do right by me?" I asked and he nodded his head.
My heart began to beat hard and fast in my chest as I prepare myself to ask the final question in my head.
"Are you also confessing that you like me and..." I took in a deep breath and exhaled.
"Are you trying to say that all the words you said about my dressings and eyes and my body were the opposite of what you meant and you only said that because you thought I was innocently trying to seduce you with the intentions of wanting to seduce you?" I asked, patiently waiting for his answer.
