SOPHIA CASTILLO POV
I was contemplating if I should tell Adrian that I was going to a party full of college males and females or not.
I didn't know why I didn't want to tell him, maybe because he might refuse me from going but at the same time I knew that he might agree as he has told me to go out with my friends and spend some time together.
TO THE LOML: I'm going out with Annabella.
Instantly a reply came from him.
FROM THE LOML: Oh that's a good time. What time is it over there?
TO THE LOML: It's past eight in the night.
FROM THE LOML: Where are you guys going to?
TO THE LOML: We are just hanging out with some of her friends and that's it.
My mind was telling me to tell him the truth. To let him know where it was that I would be going to but I couldn't.
It wasn't as if I was going to do a bad thing anyway.
FROM THE LOML: okay baby. Have fun and don't forget to return before midnight. It's not like I'm detecting time for you but I just want you safe and do not forget to let me know when you come back. I do not want to ruin your girl's night by texting and making them wonder.
After reading his message, I couldn't help but love him more. It's how he puts me first that wows me all of the time.
"Are you ready?" Annabelle said, taking my attention from my phone.
"Yes. I am," I told her and quickly sent a text message to Adrian.
TO THE LOML: I will be leaving now. I love you so much.
I turn off my phone and walked out of the room with Annabella.
"So who were you texting? Your husband? You make me want to get married you know with how you are always invested in your phone and how your face lit up when you text him," Annabella said and I couldn't help but blush.
"You know it's rare for a woman to get married in the twenties. How long did you date him and how old is he? I'm guessing he's quite older and not an ordinary man," she said.
I haven't told Annabella about me because I wanted to keep my profile low and I love how she respected my privacy.
"It's a funny story," I said, letting a small laugh.
"A funny story? Tell me about it," she said.
"It is. Firstly it's love after marriage and that's it," I revealed and she halted on her track to stare at my face.
"Wow! Love after marriage. Interesting. So you guys got married first and then began to know each other and fell for one another? That is very nice. Who is he? I'm guessing he isn't an ordinary man and I can tell you are from a wealthy home," she said.
I just laughed, not wanting to talk much about it. I didn't want her to think I was being dismissive or wanting to keep my life to myself but I wasn't ready to tell. Maybe one day.
"How old are you man?" She asked.
"He is twenty-eight," I told her.
"That's my thing. I love older men. They just know how to take care of women, trust me. I bet he treats you like an egg. Does he know you are going to a party?" She asked and I shook my head.
"He knows I'm going out not to a party," I told her.
"And why didn't you tell him?" She asked and I sighed.
"It's a little complicated. Trust me, Adrian isn't like any other man. I mean he puts my happiness first a lot and is always asking me for what I want but he is a little possessive or maybe he is possessive," I chuckled.
"Well, the thing is, Adrian wouldn't want me going to a party full of college men. He doesn't have an issue with me hanging out with friends but he'd flip. He'd call me all of the time and I don't know..." I trailed off not knowing what to even say.
"He is quite possessive but not in a bad way right?" She asked.
"Not at all," I answered.
"You drink alcohol?" Annabella asked and I shook my head.
"No, I don't," I replied.
"Okay then. Just stay close to me once we get there. Trust me when I tell you the parties are always wild and crazy and I think it's a good thing you didn't tell your husbands because I wouldn't be a man and be happy that my wife is going to a party full of horny youth," she said and I chuckled.
*****
I was blending in more than I expected and it was a surprise to me. For an introvert like me to he having fun at this party and talking to other people is new to me.
Annabella has been introducing me to get friends and two men had hit on me and before I gave them a befitting reply, she did for me.
The first male has stayed off but the second wasn't at all. He has been staring at me and giving me a creepy vibe.
"You are kidding me. You are married and at twenty?" Stella, the girl I met said surprised.
"Yes, I am," I answered her proudly.
"That's great. How? Like who is he and how long have you been with him to know that you want to be in it with him for the rest of your life?" She asked.
"Trust me it's a lot more than you think,". I told them and they burst into a fit of laughter.
I had not to dance but I was enjoying myself and had not realized how fast the time was moving.
I was seated on one of the chairs when the second guy that hit on me earlier came to sit beside me.
"What's up baby girl," he smacked his lips and I smiled at him, not wanting to be rude.
"So I heard you are married. Are you happily married?" He asked and that question put me off. I wanted to stand up and walk away as he sounded like he was drunk and already had too much for the night but I sat still.
"What brings you here then? Does your husband know you are here or not? I doubt you are happily in love but I'm here for you. I can treat you right and better than your husband will trust me when I tell you that," he said and I clenched my fist.
Was he eavesdropping on my conversation with the girls? What a creeper human being.
"What do you want?" I asked him as I began to look for Annabella with my eyes.
She suddenly left with some girls and hasn't returned. I just wanted her here right now so that I can leave here and away from this man.
"I want you," he said straightforwardly and I felt the urge to gag.
What is wrong with this man the fact that he knows I am married yet he is hitting on me irritated me a lot.
"I am married and I'm sure you know that right?" I said.
"I know but who cares. I'm sure you don't care about that too so let me...." He touched my skin and I felt the urge to slap him.
I moved away from him instead and instead of him taking the hint, he moved closer.
"Stay away," I warned.
"Oh come on. Don't be shy. Trust me when I tell you that what happens between us stays between us and that your husband won't know," he said.
"What do you take me for?" I asked.
I was close to losing my composure and punching him soon.
"What do I take you for? Oh, come on. You are a beautiful girl with some big ass and I am a man who is..." I cut him off by raising my hand and hitting him right across the face.
I have never felt so insulted and disgusted at the same time. The audacity for him to speak to me I'm that way and manner.
I got up from where I was seated and walked away from him, no longer wanting to see his face.
Thankfully I saw Annabella and went to meet her.
"What happened to you? What's wrong?" She asked, sounding concerned.
"A lot happened. The stupid jerk approached me again and spoke to me in a very disgusting way but I slapped him," I told her and she gasped.
"Oh my goodness," she chuckled.
"For someone like you to do that, he must have deserved it. That's good for him then," she said and I suddenly remembered my phone.
"What's the time?" I asked her.
She stared at her wristwatch. "It's past midnight," she said and I gasped.
"What? Past midnight? This is not true right?" I asked her and she showed me the time on her phone.
"I forgot my phone at the place I was seated. I will go get it," I told her and made my way back to where I was seated earlier.
My heart dropped when I saw my phone in the hands of the creepy jerk and he was answering my call.
The audacity for him.
"Oh, she's here. I told you she's back soon," he said with a smirk on his face.
I didn't need anyone to tell me who it was that he was talking to as I barely got called by anyone and only Adrian would call me by this time.
"Here. Your husband wants to talk to you," he told me, handling the phone to me.
Oh my goodness. Adrian is so going to be furious. Firstly, I didn't tell where I was going. Secondly, a male answered my phone call and I'm sure he must have heard the music in the background and worse it's past midnight and I do not know what it was the stupid jerk had told him.
I walked out of the house to answer the call. My heart was racing faster than normal.
What do I say to him?
"Hello," I said once I was away from the house.
"Where are you?" Adrian asked and from the way he spoke, I knew that he wasn't happy at all.
"I'm at a party," I told him, feeling nervous.
"A party? Wow. You went to a party and you didn't think it was okay to inform me? It's not like I'm trying to control you or want to know where it is you go to all of the time and permit you to but we are married, I need you to tell me this little information so that I know where it is you are at," he said, he wasn't sounding friendly at all and he also sounded hurt.
"I..."
"When did you go to this party?" He asked.
"In the past... Eight," I told him honestly.
"Wow!" I heard him sigh.
"So the time you told me you were going for girl hangout, you were preparing for this party right?" He asked.
"Yes," it answered.
My heart was beating loud and fast in my chest.
"Wow. So you lied?" He asked.
"I didn't..."
"It's fine Sophia. Do you know why I am even angry? I'm not even angry, I'm hurt. You didn't think to tell me this because of what? Did you think I'd stop you from attending them if you wanted to? Do you think so? You should have tried me and seen it and the worse is, a man answered your phone call. Wow, you seemed to be having a lovely time with him as he sounded as if he know you so well. You know what, just goodnight. Sleep well," he said and ended the call before I could say anything.
Oh my goodness what have I done!
