Love Me, Or Reject Me

Chapter 66 I Won't Ever Let You Go

Ch. 66 / 120 Dec 11, 2024

Freya's POV

The next evening, as night descended and the stars twinkled, a splendid dinner unfolded in an opulent banquet hall. The ballroom was adorned in a picturesque manner, featuring exquisite crystal chandeliers casting a warm glow. Each round table was adorned with white roses and delicate candles, imparting a gentle floral scent and fostering a romantic ambiance.

Kingsley was attired in a finely-tailored black suit, complete with a neatly knotted tie. His deep eyes exuded confidence and determination, while he wore a slight, charming smile.

On the other hand, I donned a captivating evening gown embellished with silver silk tassels that swayed like flowing water. My long hair cascaded over my shoulders, and I wore exquisite jewelry that captivated onlookers' attention as we entered the ballroom.

Under the luminance of the dinner party lights, Kingsley guided me toward a round table, where a group of people had gathered.

"My apologies for the delay, Alpha Jason and Luna Mavis," Kingsley cordially greeted the elegant couple seated at the main area before escorting me to my seat.

"That's quite alright, you've arrived just in time for the festivities, Alpha Kingsley," Luna Mavis responded. She then turned her azure eyes towards me and inquired, "Alpha Kingsley, won't you introduce us to this charming young lady by your side?"

My cheeks flushed, and I was about to respond when Kingsley interjected, "This is my mate, Alice."

I furrowed my brows and shot him a glare. What kind of nonsense was he spouting?

"But..." Kingsley glanced at me and smirked, "She hasn't accepted my advances yet."

Alpha Jason burst into laughter and teased, "I didn't realize there was anything in this world that you, Alpha Kingsley, couldn't obtain."

"Of course, there are many, such as the cooperation with you all. Am I not currently in negotiations for it?" Kingsley seamlessly picked up the conversation.

With a graceful clap of his hands, a waiter approached with a golden platter bearing the perfume "Angel," which I had created.

"This is my gift for you, Alpha Jason, Luna Mavis."

Luna Mavis accepted the perfume and delicately sprayed some on her wrist.

In an instant, a captivating fragrance wafted through the ballroom. People paused and turned their heads in search of the source of the scent, their gazes eventually settling on Luna Mavis.

Her eyes lit up momentarily. "What's this perfume?" she inquired with curiosity.

I smiled and replied, "I crafted it myself. The main scent of this perfume is derived from a plant known as the moonflower, which exclusively blooms in the moonlight, emitting a delicate fragrance symbolizing the innocence and dreams of children."

Upon hearing this, Luna Mavis nodded in agreement and turned to Alpha Jason, saying, "No wonder the moment I caught a whiff of this perfume, it reminded me of that troublemaker in our family. Speaking of which, I really miss him a bit, considering I didn't bring him along on this trip."

Jason reassured her, "Don't worry, we'll be back to see him soon."

Kingsley also chimed in at this point, saying, "A child's childhood is the most precious, just like the Moon Flower, which is pure and short-lived. Every child is an angel. I, too, once had the chance to have such an angel, but I didn't appreciate it, and so the angel departed."

Upon those words, I froze in place, locking eyes with Kingsley's sorrowful gaze. My heart skipped a beat.

So he remembered.

I hadn't realized that Kingsley missed his lost child as much as I did.

The negotiations between Kingsley and Alpha Jason went smoothly. After the dinner, Kingsley offered to give me a ride home. Soon, the car pulled up outside my house.

Before I stepped out of the car, Kingsley turned to me and said, "Thank you, Freya. You're truly talented."

"I understand that we can't turn back time, but I want you to know that I feel very fortunate to have had you in my life, even for the brief time that I did."

For some reason, my eyes welled with tears as I lowered my head, feeling a dull ache in my heart. My thoughts urged me to leave, but the inner wolf within me was howling, compelling me to stay.

"If, let's say, one day in the future, we happen to cross paths again on the road..."

"I know," Kingsley interrupted, his eyes reddening. "I'll pretend to be a stranger. Don't worry, I won't trouble you again."

I looked up at him, suddenly rendered speechless. After a moment of silence, I managed to force the words from my throat, "So, goodbye."

I stepped out of the car, and just as I turned around, Kingsley called out to me, "Freya!"

I turned back around, surprising even myself with the twinge of incredible anticipation in my heart.

We locked eyes, and Kingsley hesitated, struggling to ask, "Have you thought about me all these years?"

I remained silent. Had I thought about him? Perhaps. But did that mean my heart still loved him?

As I was about to answer, Kingsley suddenly smiled to himself, "Never mind, no need to answer. Goodbye."

I hung my head, a mysterious emotion festering in my heart.

I turned around slowly and began to walk away. After a short distance, a gust of wind made me instinctively wrap Kingsley's jacket around my shoulders. It was then that I realized I still had his jacket.

I quickly turned back, intending to return it to him. When I reached the original spot, I was surprised to see Kingsley's car still parked there.

Kingsley opened the car door and walked confidently toward me. Without giving me a chance to explain, he embraced me tightly, saying, "Freya, do you know what I was just thinking? I was praying to the moon god that if you turned around, I would never let you go again! And then I saw you coming back. Freya! This time I won't ever let you go!"

In an instant, Kingsley's fiery kiss landed on my lips, sending an electric shock through my body, and I lost all sense of reason.

My skin quickly warmed under his passionate kisses.

Though my blood boiled at the thought of his bold move, a sensitive spot between my legs throbbed. I both hated and loved it simultaneously.

I didn't know when and how we returned to the car.

Then, his lips seized mine in a frenzy, and I found myself lost in his kiss. His tongue pressed against my mouth, demanding my lips to part so he could taste me once more.

I couldn't refuse him. How could I?

The deeper the kiss, the more frantic his movements became. His hands explored every inch of my body, caressing it.

"Kingsley..." I whispered softly as he kissed from my chin down to my neck. "We can't..."

"Why can't we?" He growled softly, nipping at my shoulder, sending a shiver of pleasure straight to my heart.

I moaned again as he picked me up and gently laid me down on the seat.

"And then?"

His fingers swiftly pulled down my tights, and before I could protest, he knelt by the car door, pressing his face to my core, inhaling my scent.

His tongue darted out, capturing the sensitive buds of my core, causing me to moan in pleasure again.

"Oh," I gasped. "Kingsley, oh my goddess..."

It didn't take long for him to push me to the edge of sanity as I unraveled in his mouth, his tongue savoring every drop of my essence.

As I watched him rise to his knees, I expected him to take it further. Simultaneously, a sense of shame washed over me.

Why? After all the hurtful things he had done to me, my body still yearned for him, longing to be filled by him as if he were meant to be a part of me.

Unexplainably, I whimpered.

Kingsley's movements ceased, and he gazed at me for a moment. Then, he reached out and gently wiped away my tears. He retrieved my panties and tights, assisting me in putting them on.

He didn't go any further with me...

I felt sad, ashamed, and a little disappointed.

He clenched his teeth and, after a long pause, whispered, "I'll wait for you, Freya, until the day your heart accepts me again. But until then, I won't give up, my dear girl."
