His Forbidden Soulmate

Chapter 6

Ch. 6 / 44 Oct 20, 2023

"Tonight, is the full moon, are you nervous?" Kathara approached me and leaned on my blue Nissan pickup.

"No," I answered with a bright smile, completely adding air to my tire.

I lied; I was. Another rule of being the future alpha, I was forbidden to show any emotion that made me seem weak to my pack. The pack was to always see the strong side of me only and never the weak.

"Okay, brother," Kathara said with a bright smile.

Her face motioned from me staring at something curiously which causes me to inspect what it was. It was a strange white car, heading on our land.

"I'm going to get Dad," Kathara ran off.

It was odd to see a car that we didn't know on our land. There were two elderly females inside, they were humans. I could smell the fresh scent of their blood flowing through their veins.

I observed them as they exited the car hurriedly.

Dad was appearing from the house as well by the news.

I listened closely as Dad approached them. A wolf shifter had good hearing. On both elderly female faces, I could see how distressed they were.

My sister had returned to the porch along with my mom watching too why they were here.

"Mr. James, we desperately need your help," said one of the ladies.

"What is it?" retorted Dad.

"We could have called the sheriff's station, but I know you're not in the office on Fridays."

"What is it you want help with?" Dad again asked eagerly to know.

"My granddaughter ran away into the forest, and I fear she may be in danger," she retorted.

My dad turned to look at me knowing I was listening to them.

"Go, son," he telepathically spoke to me.

An alpha could telepathically speak to any wolf, but a normal wolf they can do so to their soulmates only.

I nodded and threw the tire inflator at the back of my trunk running, into the forest. Within my human form, I could run fast but not as fast as in my wolf form. I didn't want to scare the girl I was to rescue, it's better to be in my human form for humans should not know of my kind.

I halted at a large rock for a while sniffing for her scent. One that didn't seem to belong in the forest. The pack and I knew the forest like the back of our hands. Immediately, I picked up a mild fragrance. My nose relaxed from its sweet scent. The forest had many plants that had a pleasing scent but that one was different like the scent of a rare rose. I followed it. I was soon standing on top of a small hill looking down at her. A dark, curly hair human in a white dress curled up in the grasses sobbing.

It was the second time I was seeing her. She was the strange girl I noticed sitting on the rock. The one whose eyes caught me in my wolf form.
