Jurius
I rushed from the gym, and I almost collided straight into Mom. I managed to stop myself before I could.
"Why are you in such a hurry? my mom asked inquisitively.
"I'm sorry," I apologized instead of answering her question, and my head kept turning, searching to find where my dad was.
"Jurius," my mom called, causing my attention to shift to her.
"Are you okay?" she asked, seeming to think that something might be wrong.
"I'm fine. Do you know where Dad is? I asked.
"He's in his office," she answered.
I scurried upstairs, and I immediately slowed down the moment I got to the office door.
I stood still in the same position until I felt I had enough confidence to approach him.
My hand folded into a half fist, and I knocked on the door.
"Come in," I heard my dad's strong voice instruct me, and I carefully took my time shoving the door wide open.
His head raised from his desk as I did, and his head lowered back, disappointed.
I pushed the door closed and stood in the centre of the office on a brown circular carpet that was lighter than the boarded floor. I studied my shoe as I did, preparing to say something to him.
"Are you here to stand all night in my office or to say something?" my dad asked angrily, and immediately my head raised.
Our eyes met as I did, and I noticed something foreign about his eyes. They were greener than I knew them to be. They were like fire in the presence of copper sulfate and boric acid, but instead, he was consumed with rage and disappointment.
"When are you going to kill her? Each word slowly came out of my mouth.
His hands formed into tight fists. I watched it as it rose and struck hard into the desk, furious.
"I should have known you were too weak to kill her the moment you returned home," Dad said angrily as he rose from his desk.
"For I smell her all over you, like some cheap, strong perfume."
My head lowered, ashamed.
"You know, son, I thought you had it in you to one day take my place as the alpha of this pack, but now I don't see it anymore."
My head steadily went to him, and sorrowfully, I looked at him as he motioned from his desk and walked past me, leaving me alone in his office.
A sharp pain emerged inside my heart when he slammed the door. I hated that the faith he had in me no longer existed.
I wish at this moment I could tear from my heart the love I had for Freya to make my father proud of me again, but I couldn't, for it was something that could not be removed. My love for her was for eternity.
I exited the office hastily, hating what I was going to do next.
