Freya
Many nights I've cried at my bedroom window, looking up at the moon, pleading to it to transform me into a wolf, for I believed I'd be happy once I am. I would be happy as the female lead in the werewolf romance novels after they've found their fated mate. The male wolves always seem to do so no matter what the female characters are going through, and so I was without any doubt I would receive what I was longing for: To be loved, seen, and cherished.
Amongst a meadow of daisies A white-petaled plant with a yellow centre. I lay facing Jurius as he rested on his side, staring into his eyes. He returned my every gaze.
After the shift, he was left naked; his clothes were torn apart. While resting on his side, one of his legs was across his lower body, covering his manly features. I didn't mind, for I was too infatuated with the fact that we were soulmates—that I was mated to a wolf shifter. A creature I assumed was just a myth, but now staring into Jurius eyes and seeing him change, I knew that it wasn't. Wolf shifters were, in fact, real, and I was mated to one.
I smiled.
"What are you smiling about?" he asked, his voice low and attractive.
Nothing, I said, my cheeks turning red and feeling timid.
One of his hands reached out to me, pushing aside strands of hair from my face and placing them behind my ear. My entire body shivered as one of his fingers brushed against my right ear. He then held my hand firmly in his.
I blushed at his touch, for I've never been close to any man, and I bit my bottom lip nervously, lowering my eyes for a second before moving them back to him. When I did, I received a radiant smile.
Instead of smiling back at him, my body was rigid. I still couldn't believe that I was mated to him, a wolf shifter, and that we were soulmates.
Silently, tears ran from my eyes. I once thought I would have the same bad faith as my mom and her side of the family—unlucky with men—but watching Jurius, I now realize that I wasn't going to.
My eyes closed at Jurius touch as he wiped away my tears before they could reach the end of my face.
"It hurts me whenever I see you cry," he confessed.
My attention went to him.
I began to cry even more, and immediately he pulled me close to him, and one of his arms was wrapped around me, embracing me.
"Please don't cry," his beautiful and yet again low-pitched voice spoke to me.
Our faces were so close that I could feel his warm and pleasant breath against my face.
"I'm sorry," I apologized as I tried to stop myself from crying, for I now loved him so much that I didn't want my tears to bother him.
I wept because I wasn't used to anyone caring so much and because even my tears hurt him.
Immediately, my tears stopped and my eyes shut as she pulled me even closer to him, kissing my lips so passionately. Without thinking, my arms were wrapped around his bare body, returning his every kiss—my first kiss.
I was exhaling heavily when his lips left mine. Though it did, I could sense it as it was still caressing mine. I could still feel the softness of his lips and the pleasant taste of them.
"If I have to kiss you every time to stop you from crying, then so be it," Jurius said as his eyes peered into mine.
Within his eyes, I could see it flaring with the heat of our first kiss.
"Kiss me again," I told him, wanting him to do so again.
His first kiss was addicting, and I was yearning for more. My lips tremble, yearning for his touch.
Again, he kissed me, and both of his hands went across my body, causing me to relax.
We kissed as if our kisses had no ending. Our heads would rest on each other's foreheads as if we were emerging from the surface of the ocean needing air, and as soon as we'd gotten enough, we would go back down, enjoying its pleasure. That was what our kisses were like. Until I got tired. My head rested on his hard, muscular chest, puffing and panting, and his long, strong arms wrapped around me.
I realized Jurius wasn't breathing heavily, probably because I was a human and his body didn't have limits like mine.
"I wish we could lay and kiss here forever." I heard his voice resonating over my head.
A palm of my hand rested on his bulging and strong chest, wishing we could, but not here. Soon, Ms. Burrow will be worried about where we are.
I wish at that moment we had enough time to be with each other, now that I've known that he belonged to me and I to him.
"What will happen when your kind find out about us?" I asked, remembering what he had said: A human and a wolf shifter can never be together.
"I don't know," he retorted.
My head was lifted toward him, and his eyes were peering down into mine, so worried.
"Promise me you will never try to hurt me again," I told him.
"I will never." His hand immediately left mine and gripped my face.
My eyes closed and were reopened by his reassuring words.
"Don't worry about anything. I will handle it," he again said to me.
I nodded.
"We've got to go; Ms. Burrow has realized we're gone," he said.
"How do you know?" I asked inquisitively.
"I'm a wolf shifter, remember?" He said it confidently with a smirk.
My heart flutters proudly knowing that he is mine, my wolf-shifter man.
He held me up as we both stood up.
"Go; I will be watching you," he said.
"Won't you return as well?" I asked, not wanting him to go.
He pulled me into his arms and held me by my waist.
"I'm as close to you as your heartbeat. I'll always be with you," he said.
I smiled. He then gave me a short kiss before shifting into his wolf and running off. I watched him as he sprints opposite me and later stops next to a tall tree.
"Go," I heard him say, not from the words eluding from his lips but in my head.
I was wide-eyed with astonishment.
"You can speak to me telepathically?" I said appalled.
"I can," he said back. "But one day I will be able to listen to your thoughts when I've marked you as mine," he said.
Instantly, I blushed.
"Go, I'll be watching you," he later went on to say.
As I was about to go, I hesitated.
"Won't Ms. Burrow worry about you?" I asked.
"She won't," he said.
I then ran back to the forest, and before I approached the class group, I made sure I had a rock in my hand, allowing them to believe I was doing the class work.
When Ms. Burrow spotted me, I gestured to her with the rock I had in my hand.
Her eyes then moved away from mine, and I knew she was searching for Jurius.
"It seems Jurius had to return again due to family issues," she said out loud.
I soon realized that it was something Jurius did often.
We were all told to get on the bus, and instead of sitting at the back of the seat where I had once sat, I took the seat where Jurius was, while I reminisced on our special moment in the meadow of daises, where I shared our first kiss and also my first kiss.
