"Evenin'," Brooklyn said brightly as she walked up to Ben who was standing behind the counter at the diner.
"Ah, you're early!" Ben smiled. "I'm liking you more and more."
"I'm glad to hear that," Brooklyn laughed.
"Head in the back and get changed and then you can get to work," Ben said and Brooklyn nodded.
"Sir yes sir," she grinned and made her way into the back of the diner and into a private room to change. When she made her way back out she spotted Sasha and Alice at a booth and Alice pointed her finger accusingly at Brooklyn.
"You owe me a milkshake!" Alice called and Brooklyn laughed as she walked over to them.
"Of course," Brooklyn chuckled. "Flavour?"
"Chocolate," Alice said. "What else would I get?"
Brooklyn held her hands up in defence and turned to Sasha. "What can I get you?"
"The same as my lovely ginger haired friend," Sasha said and Brooklyn nodded, taking her notepad out of her apron and writing down the order. "Oh, and one more thing," Sasha added. "Get Saturday night off."
"I'll try," Brooklyn nodded and glanced to the door as it opened. "I'm going," she said as Harry, Greyson, Kal and Ace walked into the diner.
"Yes, go," Sasha nodded and Brooklyn turned on her heel and made her way to the counter and pinned Sasha and Alice's order up. Brooklyn tried to busy herself with doing nothing, but she caught Ben's eye and he gestured for her to go to the table that Harry had just taken a seat at.
"Fuc-" Brooklyn bit her lip, clutched her notepad in her hands and took a deep breath before walking over to the table. "What can I get you?" She asked bluntly.
"Some better customer service?" Greyson suggested and Brooklyn narrowed her eyes at him.
"Food," Kal said and told Brooklyn his order. "And add some ketchup to that, don't be afraid to be generous."
Brooklyn rolled her eyes and took Greyson's and Ace's order before turning to Harry who looked at her with a blank face.
Nothing was said and after a few moments Brooklyn sighed. "What do you want, Harry?"
"Oh, so you are talking to me?" Harry said and nodded. "Good, it seems your self restraint didn't last that long."
"Shut up," Brooklyn snapped. "And order."
"What would you suggest, babe?"
"The door," Brooklyn scowled.
Kal smirked and grinned and Brooklyn. "I like her."
"Shut up," Harry said.
"You should listen to yourself," Brooklyn said.
"But then how would I order?" Harry shrugged and slowly reached for the menu. "So, you don't have any suggestions at all?"
Brooklyn pursed her lips and scowled at Harry as he looked at the menu. "Are you going to order?"
"Hush," Harry said and held his hand up. "Since you won't help me I guess you'll just have to wait."
"You hushed me," Brooklyn said and Harry smirked slightly, nodding his head.
"I did hush you, Brooklyn," he murmured.
"Hey, Brooke, you going to that party at the weekend?" Kal wondered.
"Maybe," Brooklyn nodded and eyed Kal warily. "Are you?"
Kal looked at Harry, Greyson and Ace and frowned. "I... er... Ye-"
"Parties aren't really our scene," Ace said and Brooklyn nodded, casting her gaze to Harry.
"Good," she mumbled.
"We can make an exception," Harry said, raising his eyebrow challengingly.
"Can you also order your damn food?" Brooklyn groaned.
"Since you asked so nicely," Harry nodded and told Brooklyn what he wanted.
"Thanks," Brooklyn said sarcastically and walked off as quickly as she could. "Ass," she muttered as she pinned the order up.
"Boyfriend?" Ben wondered, glancing at Brooklyn as he wiped the counter down.
"What?" She gasped.
"The blonde guy?" Ben said. "Be your boyfriend?"
"Harry! What! No- he... No! Why would you think that?" Brooklyn blurted.
Ben shrugged and chuckled slightly. "Sorry, it just seemed like there was something between you two."
"There's not," Brooklyn blurted.
"And I've never seen them in here, until you came to town," Ben added and smirked at Brooklyn before walking off.
Brooklyn pouted and crossed her arms over her chest, turning round and discreetly looking over at Harry.
"He doesn't exist," she told herself quietly. "Ignore him. He's an ass and you don't want to associate with the likes of him."
Harry slowly turned and looked over his shoulder, catching eyes with Brooklyn. There was something about the way he looked at Brooklyn that made her blush and hurry away.

"How was work the other night, I forgot to ask," Lisa said as Brooklyn helped her aunt prepare dinner on Wednesday evening.
"It was good, it was just like working back at home," Brooklyn nodded.
"That's great, it's so good to see you settling in well," Lisa smiled. "Have you heard from your parents?"
Brooklyn sighed and shook her head. "I'm presuming they're too busy arguing with each other to remember that they have a daughter."
"Oh no, dear, don't think like that," Lisa gasped as Brooklyn laid plates out on the table, ready for later. "Oh, Brandon isn't in, we won't need all those plates!"
"Where is he?" Brooklyn wondered as he returned one of the plates to the cupboard.
"I don't know where that boy goes," Lisa chuckled. "He said he'll be home late, I think he's playing on the internet or the Google with some of his friends."
"The Google?" Brooklyn laughed.
"Quiet, young lady," Lisa chuckled. "You can go now if you want, I can manage the rest by myself."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, now go and relax or do something that teenagers do," Lisa said and Brooklyn smiled.
"Thanks," she said and walked out of the kitchen just as the doorbell rang. "I've got it!" She called and walked over to the door. "Harry," she said once she opened it. "What are you doing here?"
"It's Wednesday," Harry said.
"And tomorrow is Thursday," Brooklyn nodded. "What's your point?"
"I tutor you on Wednesdays."
Brooklyn raised her eyebrow and closed the door slightly. "We didn't agree on this."
"I think you'll find we kinda did," Harry said.
"I'm fine, you can leave."
"I don't think Mrs Mental will be very happy to find out that you're refusing help," Harry noted. "Or your aunt, she seems to like me."
"Harry, leave."
"Why?"
"Because... Because Brandon is here and he hates you."
"Sugar coat it why don't you, babe," Harry said sarcastically and easily pushed the door fully open. "I'm not taking no for an answer and I know that Brandon is not in."
"I don't want you here."
Harry's eyes flickered to Brooklyn's and he arched an eyebrow. "You do."
"Brooke, Hun, who's at the door?" Lisa called and Brooklyn groaned when her aunt spotted Harry. "Oh, Harry, what are you doing here?"
"Just here to help Brooklyn," Harry said and raised his bag that contained his books. Brooklyn narrowed her eyes at him and he regarded her look with a smile.
"Oh that's lovely," Lisa smiled. "Brooke, don't make him stand outside in the cold! Harry, come in!"
Brooklyn chewed on her lip and begrudgingly took a step back, allowing Harry to enter the house. Harry looked down at Brooklyn and smirked. "Lead the way."
Brooklyn took a deep breath and quickly turned on her heels and rushed up the stairs. She gasped when she entered her room and saw her neon pink underwear lying on her bed. She grabbed them and spun round, shoving them behind her back just as Harry walked into her room and kicked the door shut with his foot. He dropped his bag on the floor and looked at Brooklyn.
"You seem flustered," he commented.
"I do not," Brooklyn shrugged and sidestepped.
"You're slightly pink," he said and slowly walked up to Brooklyn. "What have you got there, babe?"
"Nothing," Brooklyn said and Harry raised his eyebrows. He grabbed Brooklyn before she could jump back and spun her round.
"Is someone a little shy?" Harry whispered.
Brooklyn coughed and barged Harry out of the way, moving her underwear from his view and throwing them into her closet.
"So, did you really come here to study or was there an ulterior motive?" Brooklyn asked and sighed, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I came in hopes of catching you in that very bright underwear," Harry said and Brooklyn narrowed her eyes at him. "Sit, babe, I need reminding of how awful your French is."
Brooklyn paused and Harry arched an eyebrow.
"Come on now, let's not disappoint Mrs Mental," he tutted and grabbed his bag, making himself comfortable on Brooklyn's bed. "Don't make me come and get you."
Brooklyn eyed Harry's face cautiously. He rarely showed emotion, but she knew he was not joking.
"We're studying," Brooklyn said sternly as she sat on her bed. "That's it. We will discuss school and only school. No talking about anything else. Am I clear?"
Harry picked up a book and dropped it in Brooklyn's lap. "Crystal."
