"W-why would I freak out?" Brooklyn asked cautiously.
"Because you're you and you witter on about pointless nonsense when you're nervous or scared," Harry shrugged.
"I do not!" She protested.
"You do."
"Harry, why would I be scared?" Brooklyn asked. "You're being weird."
"Because what I'm about to tell you isn't exactly normal," Harry said and he grabbed Brooklyn's hands. The sparks soothed the uneasiness she was starting to feel. "I need you to trust me."
"You're not exactly making me want to at the moment," Brooklyn said.
"Just trust me, and shut up," Harry said and Brooklyn's mouth dropped.
"Excu-"
Harry cut Brooklyn off by kissing her. "I need you to listen," he said.
Brooklyn sighed. "Fine.
Harry ran his fingers through his damp hair and chewed his lip. "This is going to sound crazy, but it's going to explain everything."
"Just spit it out, Harry," Brooklyn said.
"Do you believe in supernatural creatures?" Harry asked.
"Supernatural creatures?" Brooklyn said and giggled slightly. "Really?"
"Brooklyn, I'm being serious," Harry snapped.
"They're not real," Brooklyn said.
"What if they were."
"They're not."
"But what if."
"But they're not."
"Babe, they are."
"Harry-"
"Shut up," Harry said and sighed. "Werewolves," he said. "Werewolves are real."
"You said you didn't want me to freak out, I think you're the one going a bit crazy," Brooklyn said. "This is ridiculous, Harry. Just take me back to school.
"No, I'm being fucking serious, Brooklyn!"
"Don't yell at me!" Brooklyn gasped. "You're the one saying weird stuff!"
"It's not weird! It's the truth!" Harry snapped.
"Okay, you've gone mental!" Brooklyn exclaimed and stood up. "Take me to school now!"
"I told you not to freak out, you're freaking out!" Harry said and jumped up, catching Brooklyn's wrists and holding her still.
"What do you expect me to do? You start talking about supernatural stuff and then say werewolves are real and you expect me not to freak out? Do you just want me to sit there with and smile and nod and agree to this nonsense you're saying? You sound mental! Do you not hear yourself!"
"I know it sounds crazy, Brooklyn," Harry said through gritted teeth. "But I'm telling the truth!"
"Okay, say you are," Brooklyn said and rolled her eyes at Harry. "How do you know that werewolves are real?"
"Because I am one."
Brooklyn scoffed. "Okay, Harry, you're insane, let go of me. Now."
"Brooklyn, listen to me-"
"I am listening!" Brooklyn exclaimed and tried to move away from Harry but his grip only tightened. "And I think you've gone mental!"
"Just let me explain!" Harry yelled. "For godsake just shut the hell up and let me talk!"
"No! I don't want to hear anything else! I've heard enough, Harry!"
"Why would I lie?" Harry growled. "Why the fuck would I lie about this of all things!"
"I don't freaking know!" Brooklyn yelled and she jumped when Harry suddenly let go of her and walked across the room.
"I guess I'm going to have to prove this the hard way then," he snapped and Brooklyn raised an eyebrow when he pulled his shirt over his chest.
"Harry!" She snapped. "Now really isn't the time..." She stopped talking when Harry pulled his jeans down, but she didn't have time to marvel over his body because grey fur started to grow in random places. "H-Harry-"
"Just watch," Harry said sternly and he grimaced when his bones started to crack and shift. Harry was used to this by now, but it would never not feel strange and uncomfortable.
Brooklyn stumbled back and her hand flew to her mouth in horror when Harry bent over and soon she couldn't see a patch of skin. Within seconds Harry was no longer standing in front of her.
A wolf was.
"What... W-what-" Brooklyn didn't know what to say. She didn't know what to think. Everything she thought she knew about the world had been proven wrong. "You were telling the truth!" She squeaked and her eyes widened when the wolf's head moved. He nodded.
Harry nodded.
"Oh my god," Brooklyn whispered. "Oh my god. I've gone insane. This can't be real. I'm dreaming. This is all a dream. This isn't real life. This can't be real life. That's just shit if the only guy I can get close to is a wolf. That's just shit fate. It can't be true. It must be a dream. It has to be. Harry can't be a wolf. That's just... impossible. He's human. He's..." Brooklyn stopped blabbering and glanced at Harry. "You're not human," she whispered.
Harry shook his head.
"Oh my god! I-"
Suddenly a human Harry was standing in front of Brooklyn and he pressed his hand across her mouth. "Stop talking," he said.
"Get away from me!" Brooklyn panicked. "Oh my god! Get the hell away from me!" Brooklyn jumped back and not even the sight of Harry naked could distract her. He was grabbing his clothes and pulling them over his bare body. "Stay the fuck away!"
"Brooklyn-"
"Don't say my name!" Brooklyn cried. "Just don't... Don't say or do anything!"
"I'm sorry you had to find out this way," Harry said. "But you needed to know."
"No I did not!" Brooklyn exclaimed. "You didn't have to tell me! You didn't even have to pay attention to me when I first came here but you did! And now you've got me feeling these... These weird feelings and now you're a freaking wolf! A wolf! No! This isn't right! I'm going!"
"You're not going anywhere alone," Harry called.
"You don't get a say in my life anymore, wolf boy!" Brooklyn yelled and walked towards the door of the gym.
"Brooklyn, don't fucking walk away from me!" Harry called and Brooklyn gasped in fright when the door to the gym opened to reveal Greyson, Kal and Ace.
"What is going on?" Greyson called. "Why are you two yelling?"
"I thought you said it was soundproof!" Brooklyn said.
"Not to us," Harry said and Brooklyn looked at the guys with wide eyes.
"Y-you're werewolves too!" She gasped. "Oh hell no!"
"Finally," Greyson muttered. "I was wondering when you were going to tell her."
"I... I need to get out of here!" Brooklyn spluttered and barged through Greyson, Ace and Kal.
"Don't!" Harry said sharply when Greyson went to grab a fleeing Brooklyn. "Don't touch her," he said and easily caught up to Brooklyn. "Babe, calm down, let me-"
"Get the hell off me!" Brooklyn shouted and shoved Harry away when he grabbed her. "Get the fuck away!"
"Let me explain-"
"No! I don't want to know!" Brooklyn yelled and she tuned on her heels and ran through the house. The sky had turned even darker and the rain was heavier. The darkness was broken by a quick flash of lightening and Brooklyn braced herself for the thunder, flinching when she heard it.
"Brooklyn, come back!" Harry yelled and Brooklyn quickly ran into the woods surrounding the house. Her heart was pounding and her breaths were coming out rapidly, but she kept running.
*Stop running!*
The voice surprised Brooklyn and she stumbled, tripping up on a branch and falling to the ground.
A loud boom of thunder made Brooklyn's mind go back to the dark time and she slapped her hands over her ears.
*Babe,* Harry's voice said and Brooklyn jumped.
His voice was in her mind.
There was more thunder and Brooklyn whimpered.
"Go away, go away, go away!" She cried and curled up into a ball on the wet, muddy floor.
*Brooklyn-*
"Go away, go away!" She yelled and she squeezed her eyes shut when she heard footsteps.
"Brooklyn, I'm still me," Harry said slowly and crouched down next to her. "Come on, let's get you inside."
Brooklyn jumped when there was more thunder and Harry gently grabbed Brooklyn's arms and pulled her up.
"I'm sorry you had to find out like that," Harry said. "It doesn't change who I am."
"Shut up," Brooklyn sniffed and pushed Harry away from her. She crossed her arms over her damp chest and carried on walking.
"Where are you going?"
"Home," she snapped, "since you won't take me."
"You'll get ill, come back inside, babe," Harry said.
"No!" Brooklyn said and sucked in a breath as there was more thunder.
"Come back or I'll make you," Harry warned and Brooklyn stuck her middle finger up at him. "I gave you a choice," Harry murmured and Brooklyn yelled out when she was thrown over Harry's shoulder.
"Harry! Put me down!" She shouted. "Harry!"
Harry ignored Brooklyn and walked back to the house.
"Harry, for goodness sake!" Brooklyn exclaimed and hit Harry's back as he entered his house and up the stairs to his room.
He dropped Brooklyn onto the bed and she immediately shot up, heading for the door, but Harry caught her and gently shoved her back. "Don't try and walk away from me, Brooklyn!"
"Don't keep me here!" Brooklyn snapped.
"You can go once I've explained everything!" Harry said. "Sit down, I'll get you some dry clothes."
"I don't want anything from you!" Brooklyn said. "I just want to leave!"
"Sit the fuck down!" Harry yelled. "Please just let me fucking explain!"
"No way with you yelling at me like that!" Brooklyn gasped.
"You're yelling at me too, Brooklyn," Harry pointed out and he clenched his fists as he walked over to his wardrobe.
"I didn't turn into a fucking wolf in front of you! I think my yelling is justified!" Brooklyn exclaimed. "I'm freaking out here, Harry!"
"Then let me explain!" Harry said, groaning in frustration as he grabbed a shirt from his wardrobe. "For once, just listen to me!"
"Listen to me!" Brooklyn yelled. "You're the one that has caused all of this! You turned into a dog in front of me! You're the one who didn't give me a choice! The least I deserve is you listening to what I want after you've dropped this all on me!"
Harry chucked his shirt at Brooklyn and passed her a towel. "Get changed, you're soaking," he said.
"No."
"Just do it!" He snapped.
"No!"
"Brooklyn!" He growled and ran his fingers through his hair. "I'll be back in two minutes. If you're not in dry clothes I won't be happy."
*
Harry walked into his room two minutes later and Brooklyn had changed into his dry shirt. She narrowed her eyes as he shut the door.
"Stop glaring," Harry snapped. "Maybe if you listened to me you wouldn't be so freaked out!"
"Fine!" Brooklyn muttered. "Explain."
Harry moved to sit next to Brooklyn, but she quickly scrambled back.
"Explain from a distance," she said and Harry gritted his teeth.
"We're not freaks," Harry said. "Werewolves existed before humans. Somewhere along the line some people didn't turn and that's were humans evolved from. Free from the werewolf gene. There's no reason to be scared of us."
Brooklyn crossed her arms over her chest. "Why the hell did you tell me?"
"Because we're mates."
Brooklyn raised her eyebrow. "What?"
"We-"
Harry was cut off by the sound of a car horn and Brooklyn rushed to the window and let out a sigh of relief. "Brandon," she said.
"Why the fuck is he here?" Harry snapped.
"I called him," Brooklyn said and gathered up her damp clothes. "He's taking me home."
"You can't just leave!" Harry fumed. "You haven't even let me explain!"
"And I don't intend too," Brooklyn said and walked to the door and opened it.
"Brooklyn!" Harry yelled. "Don't fucking walk away from me!"
"What are you going to do, Harry?" She challenge. "If you try and keep me here I'll call the cops."
"Bro-"
"Let her go."
Brooklyn jumped when Greyson appeared out of nowhere.
"She won't be able to avoid you for long," Greyson shrugged. "She craves you. Especially now, after you two had an exciting night the other day."
Brooklyn flushed and Greyson smirked at her. "You told him!" Brooklyn snapped, turning to glare at Harry.
"Brooklyn, we can hear through soundproof rooms. He didn't need to tell me," Greyson chuckled and turned on his heel and walked away.
Brooklyn sent another glare to Harry before hurrying down the stairs and out of the house. She threw herself into Brandon's car and took a deep breath.
"What the hell did he do?" Brandon demanded. "Have you been crying! Why are you in his tshirt-"
"Brandon, shut up," Brooklyn groaned and covered her face with her hands. "Please just take me home."
