It was dark out and there was a constant drizzle in the air. The diner was emptying, it was never busy late at night. Brooklyn looked up from cleaning a table and smiled when she saw the clock nearing 11pm.
"I'm off," she called to Ben as she made her way out back to get changed. Once her jumper was on and apron off she made her way back to the diner and sighed when she saw a familiar face.
"What are you doing here?" She snapped, narrowing her eyes at Harry.
"It's raining, I thought you might appreciate a lift," Harry shrugged and stuffed his hands into his pockets.
"Well I don't," Brooklyn muttered and looked outside. The drizzle had turned into heavy rain.
Harry raised an eyebrow. "Come on, the car's running."
"I'm not going with you."
"Babe, it's raining and it's late out, I'm not letting you walk home alone."
"Harry!" She huffed. "Just get it through your thick skull that I don't want to see you!"
"If only I believed you," Harry whispered as he walked up to Brooklyn. He gently cupped her cheek and she gasped when the tickles flooded through her. "I won't do anything, just drop you home. I need to make sure you're safe."
"I'll be fine alone-" Brooklyn stopped when she noticed Barry's dark expression. His eyes were focused on something behind Brooklyn.
"We're going, now," Harry ordered.
"Harry, wait!" Brooklyn snapped and looked behind her and saw Oscar watching Harry cautiously. "Harry, you ass-"
*Not now, Brooklyn!* Harry said firmly. *Just do as I fucking say.*
Harry pulled Brooklyn out of the diner and opened the door of his car. "Get in."
"What was that about?" Brooklyn gasped.
"Nothing," Harry said dismissively. "Now get in!"
"Harry-"
"Get in or I shove you in, babe," Harry warned and Brooklyn glared at him.
"I am not happy about this!" Brooklyn snapped and scrambled into the car. Harry slammed the door behind her and within seconds he was in the drivers seat and starting the engine.
"Who is that?" Harry demanded. "That guy?"
"My manager," Brooklyn said. "He's been away for a year."
Harry pursed his lips and nodded curtly.
"What's gotten you so uptight?" Brooklyn asked.
"Nothing," Harry muttered and pulled away from the diner. "Did you enjoy your day off?"
"From you or school?" Brooklyn asked, raising her eyebrow Harry.
Harry shook his head. "Brooklyn, I want to tell you something."
"Please don't say that vampires exist," Brooklyn groaned.
Harry rolled his eyes. "I know everything about you."
"Kinda hard not to when you're in my head."
Harry ignored her. "So I'm going to tell you something about me. I don't want too, but I think it's fair."
"You think?" Brooklyn asked.
"I'll tell you if you come back to mine," Harry said and Brooklyn frowned.
"No," she said immediately.
"Aren't you the tiniest bit interested? About me? My past?" Harry wondered.
"I know nothing about you," Brooklyn said. "Apart from the fact that you're a ginormous dog."
Harry's fists clenched around the steering wheel. "I'll let that slide, babe, but we're not damn dogs. So, back to mine?"
"Take me home."
"So you're not curious at all?"
Brooklyn glared at Harry. She was curious. "Your parents," she said. "You go tense when they're mentioned. Tell me about them."
Harry sighed. "Will you come back with me?"
Brooklyn crossed her arms over her chest. "I will."
Harry nodded and took an illegal u-turn, driving in the direction of his house.
"But if you do anything- if I tell you to stop... Promise me you will?"
Harry glanced at Brooklyn. "I don't always keep my promises, babe."
"Please?"
Harry sighed. "Okay."
Brooklyn nodded and pulled her knees up to her chest. "Where are your parents?" She asked after a few moments of silence.
"They're alive," Harry told Brooklyn. "I guess."
"You guess?"
"They're not the same as what they used to be," Harry said dismissively. He had gone tense and their was a distant look in his eye. "There was an incident when I was younger."
Harry's tone was curt and snappy. Brooklyn didn't press anymore, not just yet.
"What's your favourite colour?" She blurted and Harry raised his eyebrows.
"Really?"
"I need to know something about you!"
"Black," Harry answered.
"Of course," Brooklyn muttered.
"What's yours?"
"Pink."
"Shocking," Harry said sarcastically and Brooklyn rolled her eyes.
"Favourite singer?"
"I don't care much for music," Harry shrugged.
"What do you care for?" Brooklyn questioned.
"You."
Brooklyn faltered. "Why?"
"Because you're mine," Harry said and Brooklyn glared at him.
"I'm-"
"And I'm yours."
Brooklyn's glare softened. "What?"
"I'm not going to repeat that. We're mates. We belong to each other."
"I don't like that," Brooklyn said. "I don't want to belong to somebody."
"You haven't really got a choice," Harry said.
"Next question," Brooklyn muttered. "What's your last name?"
"Why do you want to know that? Out of all the questions-"
"Just answer the damn question, Harry!" Brooklyn huffed.
"Raine," Harry said.
"Oh, I expected something a little... scarier," Brooklyn admitted.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you," Harry said sarcastically. "I have a question for you, babe."
"No, this is my question time," Brooklyn said. "You already know way too much about me."
"Not as much as I would like," Harry murmured.
"How long have you been..." Brooklyn glanced at Harry. "A... A-"
"Werewolf?" Harry finished. "Since I was 16. Females shift when they are 18, males at 16."
"Shift? No, wait, I don't really want to know about werewolves," Brooklyn said quickly and shook her head.
"Then hold your next question, wait till we're inside," Harry said and Brooklyn noticed they had arrived at his house.
Brooklyn followed behind Harry as they entered the house and she sucked in a breath when he dropped back and placed a hand on the small of her back, guiding her up the stairs and to his room.
She wanted to tell him to get off. But she liked the sparks.
Brooklyn gasped softly and she looked up at Harry who smirked slightly. He had heard that.
"Make yourself comfortable, babe," Harry said and Brooklyn sat down on the bed and crossed her legs over each other. "And ask away."
"I..." Brooklyn's thoughts were distracted when Harry took his top off and her eyes were drawn to something on his side. "What's that?"
Harry sat down next to Brooklyn. "What?"
"That," Brooklyn said softly, her fingers grazing Harry's side, just above his hip were a mark was. It was more like burn, but in the shape of a W.
"It's the Mark of this pack. The Warrior pack. Every member has it branded on them.It binds the pack together," Harry explained.
Brooklyn frowned at the mark and she couldn't help but think of her own side.
"I'm asking my question," Harry said. "Whether you like it or not."
"Harry-" Brooklyn gasped when Harry grabbed her and gently lowered her so she was lying on the bed, with him hovering above her.
"Tell me," Harry said and placed his hand on Brooklyn's hip.
Brooklyn tensed and took a deep breath. "No."
"Babe, somebody has hurt you," Harry said and Brooklyn squirmed when Harry lifted her top to reveal a mark similar to the one on Harry.
"Only one person has hurt me," she whispered.
"The person who r-" Harry couldn't bring himself to say the word.
"Enough," Brooklyn said. "I don't want to talk about it."
"B-"
"No, Harry!" Brooklyn snapped. "You didn't want to talk about your parents, and I don't want to talk about this!"
"They're not important," Harry said dismissively and Brooklyn shoved on his chest.
"Neither is this!"
"Yes it is," Harry said sternly.
"Harry, get off me!"
Harry didn't say anything.
"Harry, get off!" Brooklyn yelled.
"Tell me what happened and I will."
"It was nothing!" Brooklyn snapped. "You brought me here so you would answer questions about you! Not so you could question me! If you're not going to do that then I'm going home!"
Harry adjusted himself so he was straddling Brooklyn and he lowered some of his weight onto her, trapping her to the bed.
"You're not going anywhere, babe," Harry said lowly.
"Harry, you don't own me! You can't control me! You can't keep me here!" Brooklyn yelled.
Harry placed his hand over Brooklyn's mouth, silencing her. The room was deadly quiet and Brooklyn was glaring at Harry.
"I will tell you about my parents," Harry said. "I will, but tell me about you first."
"I don't believe you," Brooklyn breathed when Harry moved his hand. "Now let me go!"
"Tell me."
"Why am I always the one to give in!" Brooklyn cried. "You're a demanding, controlling ass! I hate you, Harry! You can't treat me like this! You can't bother me until I give in! I won't live like it!"
"You chose to come here," Harry said, narrowing his eyes slightly.
"And now I'm choosing to freaking leave! But shocker, you won't let me do that!" Brooklyn exclaimed.
"Just tell me!" Harry snapped. "Why is that so hard!"
"Why is telling me about your parents so hard?" Brooklyn countered.
"This is about you, Brooklyn!" Harry yelled.
"I don't want it to be about me!" She cried.
"Well, tough, it fucking is, so let's just get this over with and tell me what I want to know!" Harry growled.
"Don't growl at me!" Brooklyn gasped. "And stop yelling at me!"
"Stop shouting at me then!"
"You deserve it!" Brooklyn yelled. "Fucking hell you deserve a lot more than yelling!"
"Don't make me shut you up," Harry warned.
"Then how would I tell you what you want to know?"
Harry glared at Brooklyn and lowered himself so his face was centimetres from hers. "Tell me."
"No," she whispered and she couldn't help but look at his lips. Her hands were itching to touch him. She didn't know why, but she wanted to be surrounded by him. She always did, but the close proximity made the feelings harder to ignore.
Harry caught Brooklyn's eye and they were both thinking the same thing. Neither of them were really surprised when they both leaned in and their lips touched. Their mouths parted immediately and Harry pinned Brooklyn's arms above her head.
"We're arguing," Brooklyn gasped between kisses. "Not kissing. Harry-" Brooklyn was cut off by Harry's lips and she moaned.
How could one boy drive her this crazy.
In a good and a bad way.
