After Brooklyn had finally made it to the toilet she walked back down to Harry's room with Harry by her side.
"What did Greyson say?" Harry demanded once he had shut the door behind him.
"Doesn't matter," Brooklyn sighed and checked the time. "Laura said food would be ready now, maybe we should go down and-" Harry stepped in front of Brooklyn went she went to walk past him.
"What did he say?"
"Nothing," Brooklyn said dismissively. "Lets go- Harry!" Brooklyn huffed and narrowed her eyes at him when he blocked her path again.
"Brooklyn, tell me what Greyson said," Harry said sternly and grabbed Brooklyn's shoulders, holding her back when she tried moving past him. "Hey, hey! Calm down!" Harry shouted, holding Brooklyn tightly when she tried to pull away. "What the hell, babe!"
"Touch!" Brooklyn exclaimed. She wanted to get away from the sparks she felt, because they felt so good. "Your touch does so much to me already! I know I don't feel this mate thing as strong as you do yet, but it's freaking strong at the moment! I'm scared about it getting stronger!"
"Tell me what he said," Harry said.
"He said that I'd do anything you wanted. All it would take is you touching me. That's not the case yet, but I'm scared that in the future it'll be true," Brooklyn blurted.
"Everything you feel now will get stronger, it will multiply," Harry said, "but I have no doubt in my mind that you will continue to fight and ignore it."
"I'm scared I won't be able to!"
"Oh I wish I wasn't saying this, but I think you will," Harry sighed. "Greyson's a dick, he's a wind up, try and ignore him."
Brooklyn stepped back from Harry and looked around the room.
"What are you doing?"
"Trying to find my underwear," Brooklyn said. "I don't want to walk around commando."
"Come here," Harry called as Brooklyn found her underwear and pulled her thong up. "Babe, I said come here."
"What, Harry?" Brooklyn sighed and turned around, crossing her arms over her chest.
"As much as I want you to do as I say, and listen to me," Harry said and walked up to Brooklyn, "that's not you. I don't want you to listen to me- god I can't believe I'm saying this- you arguing with me over pointless shit is what makes you you." Harry tangled his fingers in Brooklyn's hair and kissed her softly. "I want you, only you."
Brooklyn closed her eyes and kissed Harry back. "This whole world scares me, Harry. It's all so unknown."
"There's nothing to be scared of, Brooklyn."
"I don't think Greyson likes me," Brooklyn said, "and isn't he the Alpha?"
"He is," Harry said with a chuckle, "and he does like you, but he's knows you're a challenge."
"A challenge? That's what you're calling me?" Brooklyn questioned.
"Would you rather we call you easy?" Harry wondered and Brooklyn pursed her lips.
"Can we go and get some food?" She asked, changing the subject.
"We had food at the diner," Harry said.
"Food comforts me," Brooklyn said. "You got a problem with that?"
"I'd rather be the one to comfort you."
Brooklyn shifted on her feet, between her legs was a little sore. "I think you've done enough of that today."
"I'm sure I can prove you wrong," Harry said lowly.
"Food," Brooklyn said sternly. "If I step past you are you going to be a dick and move in my way?"
Harry rolled his eyes and wrapped his arm round Brooklyn's waist and they walked out of his room together.
"Just in time," Laura smiled as Harry and Brooklyn walked into the kitchen.
"Oh, really?" Brooklyn whispered and groaned when she saw Greyson and Dawn sitting at the dining table.
"Ever heard of don't shit where you eat?" Harry called as Laura placed a plate in front of Greyson.
"Harry!" Laura scolded. "I'm sorry," she said to Dawn, "he's always had a foul mouth."
"And he's always had foul taste," Harry shrugged and looked Dawn up and down.
"What did I do to deserve these compliments?" Greyson asked sarcastically and Harry and Brooklyn sat down opposite Greyson and Dawn.
"I could give you some reasons," Brooklyn muttered.
"Oh really?" Greyson asked. "Could you?"
"Yes-"
"No," Harry said, cutting Brooklyn off, "you couldn't."
"Lets talk about something else, yeah?" Laura said, once everyone had food. She sat at the head of the table. "Brooke, Harry, it's nice to see you two are getting serious-"
"Um, n-no, we're not-" Brooklyn fumbled over her words. "We're not even anything!"
Greyson scoffed and Harry rolled his eyes. "Thanks," Harry said to Laura.
"I... You and me-"
"Babe," Harry said lowly. "Shut up and eat the food that Laura so kindly cooked."
Brooklyn smiled sheepishly at Laura and looked down at her plate. She didn't want to talk about her and Harry in front of everyone.
"So, Greyson, who's your friend?" Laura asked.
"Shit, um, yeah, this is Daisy-"
"Dawn," Dawn interjected.
"I said that, whatever," Greyson said dismissively.
"Oh," Laura said. She discreetly made a face. "Lovely."
"Are you two brothers?" Dawn wondered, pointing between Harry and Greyson.
"Not technically," Greyson said.
"Then why did she get called your sister in law?" Dawn wondered, pointing her fork at Brooklyn.
"Oh Jesus, Mary and Joseph," Brooklyn whispered and covered her face with her hand.
"She what?" Harry questioned.
"Move on, subject change," Brooklyn said quickly.
"No, explain," Harry said and looked at Greyson.
"Oh, it was the lovely Kirstie opening her trap, like usual," Greyson shrugged. "Made Brooklyn here squirm like a little girl."
"Hey!" Brooklyn snapped.
"Greyson! Do not speak about Kirstie like that."
"Please," Greyson scoffed, "you and her both speak about me worse than that."
Laura didn't defend herself.
"Nice to see you standing up for me," Brooklyn said to Harry.
"But we're not 'anything', so why should I?" Harry asked innocently.
"Hmm, funny," Brooklyn said sarcastically and Harry's lips twitched ever so slightly.
"The school carnival is coming up soon. Do you guys plan on going?" Laura wondered.
"Those things are a pile of shit," Greyson said dismissively.
"I want to go!" Brooklyn smiled. "I've heard bits and pieces around school, and I love fairs and carnivals."
"Of course you do," Harry muttered.
"Why? You'll pay a ridiculous amount of money to queue up for ages and sit on a boringly slow Ferris wheel that has a crap view," Greyson said and raised his eyebrows. "Sounds riveting."
Brooklyn ignored Harry and Greyson and looked at Laura with a smile. "I can't wait."
"The school puts a carnival on every summer, they do seem very fun," Laura smiled. "Will you go with Brooke, Harry?"
"No," Brooklyn said.
Harry turned to Brooklyn and arched an eyebrow. "I think I will."
"Oh, you really don't have to-"
"Maybe you can show me why they're so exciting?" Harry wondered, his tone however made it sound like a carnival was the last place he wanted to be.
"I don't think so-"
"Great, can't wait," Harry smiled and Brooklyn rolled her eyes.
"Fantastic," she muttered.
Dawn raised her eyebrows and looked at Greyson. "Maybe," she purred, "you can take me."
Greyson paused, his fork halfway to his mouth. "A carnival?" He said slowly. "Me?"
"I... er..."
"No," Greyson said and carried on eating his food.
Brooklyn stifled a chuckle while Harry 'coughed', covering up his laugh.
"Shut it, you two," Greyson said and rolled his eyes. "Besides," he looked at Dawn, "you don't even go to our school."
Dawn huffed and looked down at her food.
